Half an hour had barely passed since the sun had set on this first Thursday of July. Rose and Nikolaus were already up and going, for they had an important meeting scheduled that night. The Regent nodded in thanks as her Whip held the door leading to the atrium of the Ministry of Magic Headquarters for her. For the occasion, Rose was wearing one of her fancy, yet not over-the-top business suit and had styled her light, blond hair into a strict bun, except for two loose curly strands of hair that were framing her pale and deceptively youthful face. The sound of her stiletto heels clicking sharply against the tiles seemed to wake the employee standing behind the security desk up from his daydream. She pulled out the convocation letter that Aldron Wallen had sent her, and handed it to the blinking man. "Regent Rose Belmont and Mr. Nikolaus Oberlin. We're expected." She, at least, expected a lot from this meeting. The Tremere also wondered whom from the Ministry was going to welcome them. Chances were it might be somebody she already knew. But again, she didn't mind meeting someone new. It's always useful to make new connections at the Ministry. ------ @nikolaus

The security official made an attempt to look smart as he took the letter, he was halfway through requesting wands when he caught himself and reread the letter. Looking up in surprise he gave Rose a second look and brought out his own wand. "Basic security protocol, miss" He said as he waved his wand over her person. Once content he turned to Nikolaus and repeated the procedure, finding nothing amiss. "If you would follow me."
Nodding to be collegue at the security desk he made his way to the gilt elevators at the end of the atrium, waving them both inside he joined them as the lift as it silently made its way through the ministry. A female voice calls out each floor each time it stops and the official keeps glancing at the two guests almost uneasily. Once the elevator had risen from the eighth floor to the fourth, the man steps out and leads the group to a door. A small plaque on the door reads 'Vampire Liaison Office ~ Quentin Duvall' and has a shiny, almost brand-new look to it. "Here we are, Mr. Duvall is waiting for you. Just knock and go in." He said, stepping away from the pair and eagerly making his way back to the elevator.

Nikolaus had followed behind Rose, a mere step behind. Keeping pace with her despite his condition had become second nature to him; it certainly helped that she was usually courteous enough not to walk too quickly, not that it would have mattered. He'd had more than half of a century to become used to it, and many of the Kindred he'd worked with in the past were not as considerate as she was. He had chosen a silver and black ensemble, without the jacket. After that infernal heat wave, it felt nice not to wear one, for once; besides, Rose had insisted they not dress up too much for this. They were more than likely going to be meeting with some bureaucrat, so, business casual it was. Requesting their 'wands.' Nikolaus managed to suppress a smirk at the official's robotic adherence to protocol, only smiling instead. When the official's own wand came out, he said nothing; compared to muggle security, especially at airports, this was actually rather refreshing. Of course, he's curious if their magical security would have even known to look for. It's clear that there was still so much that the witches and wizards didn't know about Kindred, just as the opposite was true. Seeing that he was not about to ask for Nikolaus' cane, he followed the two into the elevator, remaining silent as the lift took off. He didn't even need to access Auspex to see that the Ministry official was nervous about being alone with the two in an elevator. He and Rose had made it a point to drink their fill the previous night, having happened upon a couple of tourists on the Old Queen's Avenue. The last thing they wanted was the Beast to rudely interrupt their meeting at the Ministry. When at last the elevator opened, Nikolaus could no longer suppress the smirk as he read the plaque on the door. Well, if nothing else, the Ministry was serious about their outreach to vampires. 'How disappointing, I was hoping to meet the famous Hermione Granger-Weasley in person,' he thought to Rose via Auspex as the Ministry official ran away like a scalded dog. This was Rose's show, however; he'd leave it to her to knock. 'Après vous, Madame,' he thought to her again.

Following Roses knock the door swung open by magic revealing a rather fanciful yet organised office, the wall hung with several portraits of individuals who sat and watched the pairs entrance with keen interest. The chairs before the desk were comfortable but not too much so and the desk itself empty aside from a number of strange wizarding devices consisting of mirriors reflecting things outside the room and what appears to be an upside down pool of water.
The man behind the desk laid his wand down with a definite click and observed the two with expressionless eyes. There was not a single air about him that suggested he had been looking forward to this first meeting. The rooms other occupant is a small kitten with speckled fur and oversized ears which was far more interested in the new arrivals than its owner, it stare suggesting that it can see more than just outward appearances. Its tufted tail flicking from side to side from its position atop one of the back cupboards.
"Welcome," The man spoke in carefully balanced tones, as he waved a hand to the chairs "I take it you are Miss Belmont, the Tremere Regent? An interesting title, our records on the positions exact meanings are a little vague.. Please, sit. I have been told you have an important matter to discuss."

Rose entered the room without sparing a look to the portraits observing them as they went. Her eyes brielfly turned to the cat. Some pets were uneasy around vampires but it was obviously not the case of this one. Then again, the Tremere had a cat herself, so she knew there could be exceptions. Still, there was something special about that feline. When she was done studying the cat, she gave Quentin Duvall her full undivided attention.
This wizard looked like the typical white collar: Bored and boring. He was polite, but not more corteous than he strictly needed to be. He didn't seem afraid or even remotely impressed by them, but Rose couldn't quite yet decide if that was because he was so used to dealing with vampires that the novelty had worn off, or because he didn't know vampires well enough to be reasonably scared. The third option was that he was more powerful a wizard than he let on.
"Thank you." Rose sat down on one of the quite comfy chairs and listened to the man. "A Regent is the overseer and figurehead of a local chantry of the Tremere clan," She explained simply. Her tone was as neutral as his, but there was something in the way she slightly tilted her head that suggested he should have known that, given how long Rose had been in London and given the title of Vampire liaison Officer he was claiming for himself. "That would be correct. We do. But first, I have a question. This office seems rather... new. When were you appointed to this position, if I may ask?" The plaque on the door looked like it could have been put on the door the day before.

The moment Rose had begun talking a slender brown quill slipped itself out of one of the cabinets along with a sheet of parchment to begin recording her words. Duvall never even glanced its way, although it caught the felines attention for a short moment. It was now watching Nikolaus intented while Duvall had his attention solely on Rose. Closer up she could smell the faintest hint of garlic to his cologne.
He had caught the nuance of her expression and spoke up interupting politely, "That much I had known, though the role you and your chantry play among your clan is less documented."
At her question he could not conceal a slight annoyance, but replied in the same neutral tone. "The office is new." He said, his tone indicating that he meant not only this office itself but the department. "With the increased numbers and activity of people of your nature, at least around the wizarding locales in London, Mrs Granger thought it prudent to set up a special office alongside the Goblin and Centaur Liaison Offices. The.. honour of heading the office fell to me, as one of the senior wizards of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. I have been working hard to collect and review the Ministrys relevant documents. I trust we can depend on you to help improve matters and relations." His eyes had narrowed in their intensity slightly as he spoke. If either of the pair were using Auspex at that moment they would have noted the brown smear which spread across his otherwise light blue aura.

The portraits on the wall drew little more than a brief glance from Nikolaus. He did love wizarding art - not the least of which because the paintings moved, and some were even fully interactive, as if they were alive - but the main event of their meeting was far more interesting to him. He stood next to Rose as she sat down, folding his hands on top of the head of his cane. His eyes trained themselves on Duvall's face, unblinking.
'Well, this guy's a ray of sunshine,' He thought to Rose. An ironic metaphor coming from a vampire, but Duvall looked like he was having about as much fun as a Nosferatu Primogen at a meeting with a Toreador Prince. He saw the aura change, of course. Bitter, but otherwise unafraid. Clearly, he didn't enjoy this meeting, but his next words had Nikolaus convinced that he was actually snubbed for a better position, and was instead given this particular job instead. Apparently, the magnanimous Hermione Granger decided to give him a job that came with the mother of all night shifts. Hopefully he wasn't married or had kids. He was aware that Hermione's policy of allowing vampires into wizarding society had its critics, and this guy, for all his attempts at courtesy, was probably one of them. Nothing quite like the quiet, seething rage of an office drone who felt like his work was unappreciated. And this one didn't even have a red stapler.
Nikolaus held his tongue when Duvall unsubtly inquired about the nature of Chantries. If Rose wanted to answer, that was her decision. She was the Regent, after all. But his next words drew a polite smile from Nikolaus, his fingertips rhythmically tapping against the polished metal of the cane's birdlike motif. "
"Mais oui, monsieur", Nikolaus replied. "Kindred-- pardon, vampire society has been built on the premise of quid pro quo since the fifteenth century. We call it, 'Prestation.'" He then turned to Rose, leaving it to her to explain the concept to the degree that she felt necessary to inform the Ministry official. The point was to assure him that the favor would be returned.

Duvall looked up at Nikolaus and raised an eyebrow, mildly surprised that the man had spoken. When he had not sat, the wizard had written him off as an escort of some kind. The quill too quivered at the polite interuption before continued. The cat did not even blink. Duvall listened quietly to the vampires explanation however and gave a small nod.
"The Ministry fully intends to provide equal assistance to you and.. other kindred." He spoke the word uncomfortably, "I believe one of the members of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures has already promised assistance in one regard, Wallen was it?"

Rose nodded. "Aldron Wallen, yes." She'd noticed how quickly Duvall had seemed to dismiss Nikolaus and so she was glad he had decided to speak up. The Tremere opened her leather purse and pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper. It was filled with a list of names. It was a copy of the list she'd previously sent to Wallen. "I believe he must have mentioned to you a list of names of members of our Clan that I sent to him at the time I requested this appointment, yes?"
She paused, looking at him calmy yet expectantly. "Well, were you able to run this list against your records?" And more importantly, did any matches come up?

"Wallen is a dutiful employee of the Ministry." Duvall nodded, "He did provide me with the list and I went over the records. I must say a couple of the names were rather interesting, a couple of them matched names of Wizards who were on Ministry lists of missing witches and wizards from several decades past." He gave Rose a knowing look, before picking up his wand. With a casual flick of it a nearby drawer opened and a sheet of parchment floated out to hover near the ceiling as directed by the wizard.
"Before I hand over the document, I must ask what you intend to do with it and the information it contains?" He asked. It was clear by the fact he was holding the information quite literally above the vampires heads before getting an answer that some of the information it contained had raised questions among the Ministry. "I assume the list you provided was organised by the likelihood of each individuals involvement in the war?"

Nikolaus was well aware of the Tremere embracing witches and wizards in recent decades. They'd always had a preference for scientists and academics, particularly those who showed an interest in the occult. With this massive parallel society of witches and wizards suddenly wanting to invite Kindred into their world, the Tremere felt like they'd struck gold. And while the Pyramid had tried to discourage its members from participating in the wars with Voldemort and Grindelwald (and failed in Rose's case), it was true that refugees from the war, war orphans, and wanted war criminals were embraced into the clan afterward.
Needless to say, almost none of them were prepared for what they found when they awoke within the Chantries.
"Closure," Nikolaus replied. Technically, it wasn't a lie. He looked at Rose and waited for her silent consent before continuing. "Some vampires from our clan who participated in the war did not return to their Chantries. For the sake of our records, we wish to ensure they are not still out there."

At Nikolaus' words Duvall's familiar arched it back, its eyes more intent than ever. Quentin noticed it and gave the vampire a shrewd look, but resigned himself a moment later. Lowering his wand he allowed the parchment to settle in front of Rose. "I am sorry to disappoint you then, some of the names do indeed match but not all." His words were apologetic but not his tone.
On examining the list the vampires will see that while several of the names have notes beside them noting their defeat at the Battle of Hogwarts or that they had been hunted down by Aurors following their escape, others are noted as not being found in Ministry records. James Reevis, Rakerd, Gilad Haagen, Damon Turner.. The last three had been among a portion of the list that the Tremere thought certain to have perished in the war.
"Certain points of the war did get quite.. savage at times. It is possible that some of those we defeated could not be identified afterwards, even with magic." Duvall explained. He gripped his wand between his hands as he spoke, one finger absently caressing its tip.

Rose took the list as politely and as calmly as if it'd been a mere shopping list. Yet she studied the notes written by the names on the list with great attention.
"Of course, that is undestandable," the Tremere replied as she focused on the last three names. She glanced at Nikolaus over her shoulder. She didn't need to use any word, spoken or thouhgt, to make sure he understood what she wanted him to do. They would need to send a report about that later that night.
The Tremere Regent remained silent for a moment before she spoke again. "We are aware that some Kindred... Some vampires, including from the Tremere Clan, have joined the witches and wizards' side during the battle. Would you have a way of knowing if some of them were offered hospitality by the Ministry of Magic until they recovered?"

Nikolaus read over Rose's shoulder. Indeed, only three names stood out; names that were believed to have belonged to kindred who had had their final deaths. This... this was interesting. Very interesting.
But still not what he, in particular, was looking for. He understood the unspoken order perfectly, nodding, before turning back to Duvall as Rose began speaking again. 'Let's hope they are in a good mood,' he thinks to her, just as Rose began speaking her question aloud. That... was an interesting point. The Ministry, harboring Kindred? That would have been an absolute scandal in any other context. But, given where they are now... so long as the Tremere didn't reveal any secrets, perhaps one could say that it all ended up working out for the better.
He had nothing else to add. He'd await Duvall's response.

"You must understand that the battle was a decade before the treaty. At that time the laws governing your kind were quite different, though of course arbitrarily killing had been illegal for some time." He added the last quickly. "In any case, with all the wizarding injuries following the battle the tending to part-humans was not a priority. Also I should remind you that most wizarding knowledge of vampires comes from Defence Against the Dark Arts classes and the like. I am not sure even St. Mungo's would have been equipped to handly your kind at that time."
Duvall was being very careful with his words, but promised "I will look into the matter however, I suppose it is possible that one of the Aurors or Obliviators offered some assistance which has been lost from general records. I will also attempt to speak with someone from the Department of Mysteries."
He thought for a moment. "Most records suggest that vampire involvement was for their own reasons or in response to vampire involvement on the other side. Were either of you involved may I ask?"

Again, Rose nodded. "I am well aware of that. But I do appreciate your offer to try and find some answers for us." She paused, looking for the way to phrase what she was going to say next. "It is not uncommon for witches or wizards to choose to be embraced in the Tremere Clan. Yet some of those Kindred still feel some kind of attachment towards the wizarding world to the point that they would take part in a war if they feared for the future of witches and wizards."
Although the Tremere Regent kept her voice and expression neutral, most of what she just said she knew from personal experience. Some people among the Ministry of Magic knew of her past as a witch but they were not the majority. She wondered if Quentin Duvall knew about it or if she would be able to put two and two together.
Rose shook her head 'no'. "Not during this particular war, no."

This was a topic of which Nikolaus knew very little. He was perfectly aware of Clan Tremere's love affair with the embracing of witches and wizards, but not having been one, himself, he can't really relate with a desire to want to return to it to protect it from such a threat. Oh, he'd heard plenty about Voldemort, alright; the Pyramid's official position was neutrality, but rumor had it that several of the higher-ups were quite impressed with what He Who Must Not Be Named had accomplished. Sure, he was a menace and quite possibly a threat to kindred should he have ever decided to turn his attention to them, but there were a fair amount in the Pyramid who wouldn't have minded taking a look at some of his notes, if he had ever taken any. And if he did, they probably don't exist anymore, anyway.
What Rose said caught his attention. 'This particular war?' What an interesting choice of words. He'd have to ask her about that, later; he was well-aware that she used to be a witch, but he knew by now what a personal topic that was, and now approached that topic with a degree of caution.
"No," he said flatly. He used to be a muggle. For all he knew, this guy might see vampires who were muggles pre-embrace as basically being the kindred equivalent of muggle-borns.

Duvall raised an eyebrow at Rose's choice of words but what he said was, "No lingering attachment yourself then, Miss Belmont?" His tone was scathing. Despite his lack of detailed knowledge of vampires he had done what research he could into the two who sat before him. "Quite interesting, especially when I recall at least one vampire with current ties to the Ministry having been involved. One who is not of your clan, unless I am very much mistaken." Duvall knew he was not and was also confident that the two would at least be able to hazard a guess to who he was referring. He was trying to bait Rose, trying to get some sort of emotional reaction from her.
"I would be interested to know what the two of you have done for the Ministry's benefit so far." The first hint of a smile at the edge of his features now. "Prestation.. That was the word you used, was it not?"

"Not that I know of, Mister Duvall," She answered with a detached smirk. Needless to say she had chosen to undestand his question in the sense 'Do you still have close relatives in the Wizarding World?' when it was obvious he'd meant it in a broader way. But well, if it took as much as Elezandra's powers to bring Rose's emotions close to the surface, such a simple bait was unlikely to work.
What he said next was bound to catch the Tremere's attention, though. "Well if you would tell me more about the Kindred you're thinking of, I would gladly tell you if you're mistaken." Her tone remained pleasant, with a hint of polite curiosity. She didn't feel in the least surprised or annoyed to hear Sabbat members had ties with the Ministry, just like she did. It would have been stupid of them not to. And if she was to guess, her bet would have been on Mary. But Rose hated having to rely on assumptions when she could simply get the answer.
"That is the appropriate term indeed. Yet, I am somewhat surprised to hear you have no idea what our sect did for the Ministry even since we arrived to Wizarding London. Maybe, in that case, we should feel lucky you agreed on meeting with us nonetheless." She exchanged a small smile with Nikolaus as she spoke.

"I would gladly give you the name, but rather than just confirming this one individuals clan relative to you own I had been hoping you could provide some details on as many of the.." He paused, still not happy to be using vampire terms. "..Kindred in London as you are away. It would make my position here much easier, allowing me more time to look into things on your behalf as promised."
A thin smile on his lips now, he moved onto the other subject. "There are some details of your activities, but they are outweighed by reports on what the Ministry has done for you." A wave of his wand and several sizable documents flew from a wooden filing cabinet. "Several reports of Obliviators being sent to cover up vampire activities in the city, a great deal of complaints regarding your establishment in the city we have been forced to sweep out of the limelight, an incident last year where an Auror was injured while subduing one of your kind on some sort of rampage. The list goes on."
He returned his wand to its balanced position between his two hands. "I understand that the Ministry values documentation more than you and your associates, but there are detractors who feel that the Ministry has not been treated fairly in regard to the Accord." He did not need to add that he had leanings in that direction himself.

"You believe we know of every single Kindred in London?" Nikolaus asked in response. "How I wish. That would certainly come in handy. Should I assume you know of all wizards in England and in Diagon Alley, then?"
It was a disingenuous response; according to Camarilla law, the Prince should know every vampire in their domain. But since there's no Prince of London...
And there we have the downside of the Ministry not doing their homework on vampires; not knowing the difference between the Sabbat, Camarilla, or some nobody neonate. "About that..." He turned to Rose before continuing. "I'm afraid to say Obliviators are doing the perpetrator a favor, not us. In the Camarilla, the penalty for breaking the Masquerade is death. And as for the 'rampage...'"
He pauses, scanning Duvall's aura once more. "If a Kindred gave into the Beast, and you are asking us to punish this vampire for harming an Auror, we will need more information than that. Where did it happen? Because you see, Kindred are territorial, and we can hardly take it upon herself to police the domains of other Kindred, especially without permission. You wouldn't want MACUSA arresting citizens in Diagon Alley without first filing an extradition request, would you? The same principle applies here."

Duvall shook his head slowly. The enchanted quill had made quick work transcibing Nikolaus' words. The Ministry officials pet feline lept down from its perch at the same time, moving to walk up and down near the male vampires chair, watching him closely. Its tail curved upwards and its expression interested.
"I only asked for information on what vampires you are aware of." The man spoke, his aura showed him cautious yet calculating. There was a slight flicker from the cat however, a sparkle? Easily overlooked if one did not have long experience with such powers. "I stated already I do not know the full extent of your position as Regent, Miss. Belmont, but your collegue here is surely not suggesting that what I ask is beyond your capabilities?" His gaze fell entirely on Rose as he asked the question, only turning to acknowledge Nikolaus when the next question is asked.
"If punishment were required, I am sure the Auror Department would have made contact about it sooner. According to reports the individual has been of no further threat, he was under close observation for some time following the event." He was dismissive now, uninterested in reopening old files that were before his time in this office. "I do not believe I was informed of your official position here, Mr. Oberlin."

As Nikolaus and Quentin were talking, Rose’s full attention was on the cat. She noticed the way it was approaching her chair behind which Nikolaus was standing, the way its aura flickered. Duvall wouldn't have brought an Animagus in there with them, would he? Her eyes narrowed as she used Auspex.
Rose looked briefly at Quentin as he talked to her. “I’m almost certain that Mister Oberlin, as my right hand for almost a year now, would never suggest such a thing,” She said, answering both questions as once. “What he meant to say is that, as of now, not all vampires in London as under Camarilla’s jurisdiction.” Much to the Tremere Regent’s dismay but it was still a fact. “Now if you were to look for a Kindred in particular, I would undoubtedly be able to help you with that.”
She briefly glanced at Nikolaus, a silent but clear reminder. She knew what he’d meant to do in the first place but still, as per Tremere hierarchy, a Whip should never suggest anything that lessens the authority or power of their Regent.
“Speaking of particular Kindred,” she turned back to Quentin with a small smirk, “I believe you have yet to tell us about the one working closely with the Ministry that you mentioned before.”

On more detailed examination the cat's emotions lack the strength of character found in any human, but there is still some intelligence there and a faint degree of magic as well. It is clearly no ordinary cat. Its strongest emotions are certainly more animal in nature; distrust and the beginnings of aggression forming.
Duvall looked at Rose and gave a polite nod, acknowledging her choice of words in his own way. "I shall take that as your agreement to composing a list of what vampires you can, those within the.. Camarilla at least and any others you deal with regularly. We at the Ministry would be most appreciative." He said in his usual monotone, it was obvious by his aura that he felt he had grasped the basics of Prestation. "The name I am referring to is Mary Kestrel." He watched Rose closely as he spoke, though he did not expect her expression to reveal anything of note.
"Was there any other matter that you wanted to raise?"

Nikolaus stifled a frown at Rose's reaction. That wasn't what he was implying at all, but that was what Duvall heard, unfortunately, even if none of what Nikolaus had said was false.
'Je te prie de m'excuser, Rose,' he thought to her, falling silent. He caught her glance at the cat... thing, but turned his attention back to Duvall, choosing to follow the conversation in silence for now

Rose acknowledged what Nikolaus just thought to her with a simple glance and a barely there nod.
Then the Tremere turned to Duvall and she smiled, though the look in her eyes was very serious. "You have my word that if there's any Kindred in London that has ties with the Camarilla and that, to my knowledge, could pose threats to the treaty, I will let you know. As for the rest of your request, giving out a list of Kindred belonging to our group is not among our practices, as it is not among your practices to let outsiders have access to your records. I respect that, and I am confident you will respect that too. That said, if you need information on a specific Kindred or on Kindred in general, by all means, feel free to contact me."
She paused. "I truly wish for a mutually beneficial collaboration between us, Mister Duvall. Though it seems obvious to me you still have reservations on just how beneficial it could be. Therefore, I am going to ask you to take a fresh start with me, here. Whatever past experience you might have had with Kindred, please do not let it influence you, for I sincerely do hope that, in the future, you will be one of the members of the Ministry of Magic supporting the treaty, just like Minister Granger-Weasley originally was."
"Mary Kestrel." He had guessed right: Rose did not show any particular reaction for it was the name she had expected to hear. "Do you happen to have met with her as well?"
She shook her head 'no'. "No other matter for now."

After listening to Rose talk attentively Duvall gave the smallest of sighs. "Miss Belmont, I should applaud you the fact you are proving yourself even more difficult to tie into arrangements than I had originally predicted. A credit to your species, I am sure." His free hand caressed his wand again as he spoke, "My reservations are based on a lack of evidence regarding the treaties benefits, so perhaps a fresh start would be appropriate there. This is a new office after all and I would very much like for it to be successful as well."
He peered at Rose again, as if Nikolaus was not in the room. Only the feline was the only one acknowledging his presense now as the quill had not noted anything about Nikolaus' reaction with Rose. "I will compose a list of a couple of individuals that the Ministry would like more information on, the two of you included, if that is acceptable and if you could find the time to document anything that you feel we should be aware of in regard to your people and culture, that would be appreciated as well."
"As for Professor Kestrel, I have not had that pleasure as yet, no. I am told that Mr. Potter speaks highly of her however and that her coworkers praise her as well."

Mary Kestrel. Of course. Well, he saw that coming; she's been very busy over the years, just as Rose was. He knew there has been a political arms race of sorts going on between the two since well before he'd arrived at the Chantry.
He had nothing to add; at least, not out loud. 'Mary has been busy,' he thought to Rose, before falling silent once more. This was Rose's conversation. He'd interfered enough with it.

Duvall's answer only got him a slight eyebrow raise from Rose. "A credit to my own personality, I'm afraid," she told him. She was already like that as a mortal, this was one of the rare things her embrace had not changed about her. "You and me both," she said in regard to his comment about wanting this office to be successful.
"That sounds fair to me," Rose replied with a nod, content with his new proposition. "Speaking of which, I believe young witches and wizards could use more information about the less civilized Kindred. It seems to me they shouldn't be led to believe Kindred are all good or all bad, just like any other community." A small pause. "Although I am most certain Professor Kestrel does the best she can on that regard. Such a good reputation couldn't have been earned otherwise."
'As always.' she replied to Nikolaus. "Idleness is the root of all evil, isn't it?" Could she get more ironic than that?

Duvall glanced at the quill following Rose's words, making sure it had recorded them. Looking back to the vampire he gave the slightest nod of his own, "I am glad we could come to some sort of agreement and if you think it advisable I shall write to Professors Adamson and Kestrel with your concerns." His expression then changed to one of intrigue "Is there reason for you to believe that the younger members of the magical community need to be more informed and alert?"
