@thulilemasters
About an hour after sunset Erskine left the Terrace and made his way to Thulile's place of work. He really hoped the men she worked with were not present, they annoyed him with their snide remarks.
It didn't take long for Farquarhar to drive him there, the streets of London were quiet except for?the occasional party goer. He had to walk the last part of the journey due to the no car zones in the city centre.
The rain had held and now it was humid, he brought an umbrella just incase. Erskine wanted to walk with Thulile tonight, to keep here away from the others for just one visit.
He arrived at the tattoo parlor and saw Thulile threw the window, he knocked on the window and waved at her. He didn't enter the shop this time but waited by the door for her.

Thulile was looking forward to seeing Erskine again. Especially because of the news she wanted to share with him. News she was hoping he would like hearing. So she was a bit of a basket case as she had gotten home and went over to the shop. Brewing up some of her special Ink as she waited for the sun to set.
She was up front talking to Luke when the knock on the window came. She jumped, startled and then glared at Luke as he laughed. She then turned and grinned at Erskine as he stood on the other side of the window. Going to the counter she grabbed her purse and waved goodbye before stepping out of Ink Addicts.
"Hello!" She said brightly as she moved to hug Erskine and press a light kiss to his lips.

He absorbed all of her, her scent, her hair gently brushing against his face as the wind blew it, her warm soft lips and her gentle press against him.
He kissed her back, 'Good evening Thulile. How has your day been?'
He put his arm out for her to take, keeping to the outside. 'I thought we could take a walk! I even brought an umbrella incase of rain.' he waggles the umbrella before him for her to see.

"Good, but better now that I'm back in London and get to see you," she said with a slight flush. Forever the surprised innocent in how well things were progressing between them. It was just so different with Erskine. "How's your day been?"
When Erskine's arm was offered Thulile gave a small smiled, amused and touched by th gesture. So traditional, it still felt a tad odd as she was such a modern girl. But this was just all a part of ERskine's unique charm. "I would love to walk, even if it does rain." She wrapped her arms around eRskine's and leaned into him, letting her head rest against his arm, even if it would make her walking a tad awkward.

He laughed gently at her comment about his day,
'My day? Was filled with blissful rest.'
Smiling he rests his hand on hers,
'But my night is starting beautifully now I have got your undivided attention.'
Erskine walked them towards one of the many small parks nestled away amidst the high rises of London. Here in one of these small parks they could have some privacy.
'I spent most of your time away with David, he requested I do some work to his face. It was an enlightening experience!'

Thulile chuckled at her little mispoken question. Yes, of course he was sleeping during the day, but he seemed to not be too bothered by that. For which she was thankful.
"Flatterer," she said, that feint blush still there, though the dark would disguise it except for moment they walked under a street lamp. As they walked she let Erskine guide them, trusting him.
"Really? Can I ask what kind of... 'work'?"

He wondered if she would want to hear all the details, probably not.
'David wanted some asthetic changes, I altered his eye colour to a more vibrant blue and also corrected the slouch he had picked up from some point in his mortal life no doubt. I won't bore you with all the gruesome details.' he smiled, Erskine was pleased she was interested in his work. Maybe soon she would wish to see it for herself.
They had arrived at the little park, black iron fencing surrounded the hedge that stode taller than most people. Erskine opened the gate for Thulile and waited for her to enter. When she does she sees a patch of green grass and various colourful flowers all over the place, clearly this place was looked after. Park benches lined the path that went all around the small park. He ushered her to on eof the benches and sat.

What vague description Erskine had given of his current work was enough and Thulile smiled. Easily equating what he spoke to to plastic surgery, happy in her lack of the application knowledge. She didn't feel she ahd to know how he did what it was he did.
"That sounds interesting. I wonder how he will look once you're done," she pondered. He was already a handsome man by many standards.
Onc the got to the park Thulile's eyes widened. "Oh... my..." She said as she stepped away from hima nd toward the beautiful nighttime scenery. "Look at this. So lovely. I didn't know this park was here or that it was so pretty."

He smiles as he watches her delight over the garden, he knew she would love it. For a few moments he just watches as she moves from flower to flower like a butterfly.
'Thulile, please sit with me. I have something for you.' he motioned for her to sit beside him and the basket that now rested across his lap.
He smiled as she looks at him warmly and a little nervously.

Thulile turned from her explorations with a curious tilt of her head. Where had the basket come from? Had it always been there? Had she really been so wrapped up in Erskine that she had missed something? How odd.
Moving over toward Erskine she sat with her legs tucked under her, leaning into Erskine. "You didn't have to get me anything. Just having you near is enough." She said with one of those smiles that told the story of just how taken with Erskine she was.

He opened the basket to reveal it's contents, inside are two ornate wine glasses, a bottle of wine, grapes and some other snacks. 'I visited here when it was built, I saw them plant the flowers some of these are still the originals. I knew you would love it here, so colourful and vibrant just like you. I also thought you might enjoy something nice to share, well the moment not the wine!'he laughs and hands her a glass and pours some wine for her.
From his jacket he pulls a silver cylinder and pours its contents into another glass for himself.
'How are you feeling after your last visist to Maria's?'

"Really?" she asked, looking up at Erskine, surprised. She knew he was a vampire, and likely old with his mannerisms. However, it was different when faced with something like this. She smiled as he spoke of knowing how she'd like it. It was so sweet. He seemed to know her so well in such a short time frame. Taking the glass Thulile shifted around until she was laying on her stomach and looking up at Erskine as she sipped her wine.
At the mention of Mary Thulile looked down and worried her lip. "I.... try not to think about it. It's still... I still get angry... and sad... and scared. It scares me how she could do that to me... and to Aisha and David..." She gave a shake of her head. "I'm sorry, Erskine."

He sat down beside her taking her hand in his, 'Never worry, I am not my Sister's keeper nor am I going to be hurt by your feelings for her actions! As to what happened to Aisha and David well that is something I expect you will never understand my dear.' he looks to the night sky and smiles. 'I hope you never do understand! It would mean you have entered my world more than I would like!' that thought seems to have made him sad. But he turns to Thulile and the smile is back on his face.
A noise from far away reached his ears, two men coming this way. Hopefully they would just pass by.
'I hope the wine is one you like! It has been so long since I picked wine for anyone, let alone someone I care for!'

That lightened Thulile's heart to hear. That he wouldn't think less of her because of a disagreement she had with Mary. When he took her hand she adjusted the hold until she could intertwine their fingers together.
"You know, Erskine, I look at you and I don't think I see what you do. To me... you're just so... Bright and funny. A sweet and caring gentleman who makes me feel so damn special. You..." She looked down at their hands clasped together and leaned her head down until her lips brushed the back of his hand as she spoke. "You make me feel normal. Like there isn't anything wrong with me. And safe. So safe."
Thulile then took another drink of the wine and sat it aside before moving again so she laid with her head in his lap. Unable to hear anyone approaching with her very human senses.

He cocked his head to one side as she spoke, 'But Thulile! There is nothing wrong with you! You are beautiful and spirited!' he paused as if listening to something. Then stood and brought her with him moving her behind him as the gate swung open and two large men entered the garden.
'Stay behind me dear Thulile, I will deal with these men.'
The men had been talking as the came in and stopped when they saw Erskine and Thulile, 'What do we have here? A stunning bird and a stuffy looking chink!' said one man that look like a bull dog to the other man that was waspish looking. 'I bet we can show here a good time.' then looking at Erskine he continued, ' off you chinky bastard, let us have your sweet pussy!' the waspish man moved to push Erskine away and was surprised when Erskine pushed him back.
'Please sirs! Carry on your way, I do not wish to hurt you but if you speak like that again about this lady I shall be forced to hurt you!' Erskine spoke politely but the threat was there under his calm words.

Thulile beamed up at Erskine as she laid there in his lap. Hand rising up to touch his cheek. About to say something only to pause as she noticed that eRskine seemed distracted. Then he was standing and pulling her up as well.
"Erskine?" She said his name softly as she was moved behind him. His words scaring her a bit.
Then they showed up with such vile things leaving their mouths. With a hand pressed to Erskine's back she stayed close even as she frowned at the men.
"You can go off, you ing assholes. I wouldn't touch the likes of you with a ten-foot pole." Erskine was a lovely knight in shining armor, but... well where thulile was raised? You didn't take that kind of talk sitting down unless you wanted to prove you were weak.

The two men looked at each other and laughed, cruel laughter. The man that looked like a bulldog took one step forward and swung his massive fist at Erskine's head. It didn't conect only because he moved his head back, again Erskine shoved the man away from Thulile but this time he followed the man hoping they would concentrate on him and not her.
The bulldog man punched again and Erskine deflected it with a now armoured forearm, where was the waspish man? He had moved to grab Thulile and was advancing on her now brandishing a thin bladed knife.

Thulile felt a little spurt of panic when Erskine moved, separating them so she could no longer even keep a hand on him. She did nto step back and distance herself from what was happening, instead hoping things would ease up and these assholes would just back off. That wasn't to be, though.
When the thinner man came for her she desperately shoved her fear away, trying to put on a brave face and hide how her hands trembled. She gave what she hoped was an unimpressed look at the knife and went to dodge him. "Bet that represents the size of your dick. Small and pathetic. , my great-grandmama carried a knife bigger than that." Possibly true, though likely not by much. Protection and all. Also likely not smart to taunt, but then Thulile wasn't sure what she was doing. Usually, her brothers were there to defuse things. No one ed with them.
They weren't here, though. Just Erskine.

The bulldog man was still trying to hit Erskine, getting more angry with each missed attack. Erskine, with no effort at all side stepped each swing. Meanwhile the man closing on Thulile almost snarled as she insulted him, for a moment she thought he would stab her but in his anger he back handed her across the cheek. The slap rang out over the quiet of the small park.
Erskine's head snapped round to look at what had happened. His eyes filled blood red when he realised she had been hit, the force of the hit had knocked Thulile onto the bench again. A quick movement of Erskine's arm and the bulldogm man collapsed to his knees, sucking for breath as fell. Next thing Thulile knew was that Erskine had moved with unnatural speed and had the wapish man's knife arm wrenched up behind his back with such force she could hear it snap and the man screamed in pain. The scream was cut short as Erskine's maw opened and latched onto his neck. Now the man screamed again and a small spray of blood hit Thulile.
The man's face twists in terror as the pain corses through his body. Erskine clasps a bloodied, clawed hand over the man's mouth to drown out his screams. Thulile watches as the life slips from the mans face, Erskine seems lost in the euphora of drinking. Then he drops the man like an empty crisp packet and turns on the other, he grabs the mans head in his hands and with a quick twist snaps his neck.

The impact was startling and sent Thulile stumbling back, dazed by it. A gasp had left her at the contact. A hand coming up to cradle her cheek after falling onto the bench. Fear shot through her stronger than she could ever remember feeling. Her lips parted to yell for Erskine, but it wasn't needed.
Her dark eyes widened at the scene which unfolded before her. Unable to look away, even as she felt the warmth of blood splatter onto her. She could just watch as her unerringly gentle vampire turned vicious in her defense. The horror that was his feeding.
It seemed to take forever... then no time at all as it was over. The second man getting his neck broken. The blood was forgotten, with her cheek throbbing with slight discoloration, Thulile staggered onto her feet. Then moved toward Erskine. Yes, what she had seen was terrifying... but it was only in her defense. She wasn't scared of Erskine. Her faith in his kind and gentle demeanor winning over the terror. So she reached for him.
"Erskine..." he voice was low and trembled, tears silently falling over her cheeks without her permission.

He came to her quickly, cradling her in his arms. 'I am sorry you had to see that my dearest Thulile. I'm sorry you had to see my beast!'
As he holds her he hangs his head in shame.

Thulile goes into his arms, wary of the blood on him and leaning into him to the side a bit. Reaching up she slid her fingers into his hair, tears still falling as she watched him hang his head. She felt bad her fear made him feel ashamed. A part of her thought it was too excessive, she wasn't a violent person. But how could she make him feel shame over protecting her? Saving her?
"I'm sorry," she said, rising up a bit on the balls of her feet so their foreheads would touch. "I'm sorry I'm afraid. You saved me... I just... I'm sorry. I love you and I'm not scared of you hurting me. But you killed them.... I just..." She was a bundle of confused emotions, spouting nonsense that just didn't fit well together, showing how jumbled her thoughts were. Not even realizing just what she had said in regard to her feelings for him.

The blood from the Waspish man still raced through his system, he was still riding on the high. Erskine dropped the body of the bull dog and turned to face Thulile. Wiping his mouth with a clean cloth.
'Are you hurt?'

"My cheek, a little," she said as she wiped at her eyes furiously. Stepping away from the fallen body and pulling Erskine with her. Not wanting to be near the death. Though Erskine was the undead, she did not see him that way. He was so very alive to her.
"What do we do?"

Erskine reaches out and touches her cheek, the blood red drained from his eyes.
'I am so sorry you got hurt my sweet Thulile. It shall not happen again.' his eyes filled with hate as he looked at the dead men.
'People would say I am the monster! These are the real monsters, preying om those that can't defend themselves.'
He moved Thulile's head in his soft hand to look better at her cheek. Then planted a gentle kiss on it.
The gate opened again and a cloaked Farquhar enters the garden with a roll of blue plastic sheeting. He begins to wrap the dead men in the plastic and take them away.
'Let us leave here. Shall I take you home?'

Thulile couldn't bring herself to look at the dead men. She had a hard time even looking at Erskine because of the blood on his shirt. It was round about then she realized she had blood on herself. She reached up to touch the cooling blood and her tears began to gather again.
"Yes, please. I want to go home. The blood... Please?" She looked up at him with pleading eyes. They both needed to clean up. She was sure she even had a shirt big enough for him to fit in. She just... she needed to be away from this.

'Of course, let us leave.' he looked upset. The night had not gone as he planned, ruined by those thugs. The upset is replaced with slight anger.
He walks Thulile to the black transit van parked just outside the garden. He opens the door and helps her in then sits beside her. Again the drive across town doesn't take very long to reach Thulile's home. Once there he orders his man servant to tidy the van.
He waits quietly while Thulile opens the doors and they enter, Erskine follows her allowing her to led him whereever she wanted.

Thulile is grateful as they walk away, still averting her eyes from the blood on Erskine's clothing and not touching those bloody spots. Even avoiding looking in reflective surfaces once to the van, not wanting to see the evidence for herself upon her face and clothing. It was bad enough driving with the bodies of those two men. She could feel the tension within Erskine and could only hold onto his hand tightly, too lost in her own thoughts to say much. He was a vampire, she had known in a vague way that death was so intrinsically a part of him. But to be faced with how much it surrounded Erskine? That was different. She would not let it stall what they had, it would be ridiculous, she knew, to let it. She already knew he was a vampire. She would not run from the reality of it, her feelings were... her feelings. The words came to her as they arrived at her door. [Continued here.]
