Morgana had felt restless the last few days. Her class was going well, but she hadbt had any time to explore the rest of the school or its grounds. The tower seemed the best place to get a view and layout of the entire campus. The sun was setting and the stars were starting to come out. As she climbed and reached the top of the stairs, memories had flooded back to her days and the tower. So many talks with friends up here, good and bad.
While Divination hadn't been her favorite or strongest class, the tower was her favorite place. As she passed a door, a soft glow came with the smell of incense, really creating a nostlagia tidal wave. She quietly moved through the door and peered about.
"Hello?" It seemed quiet enough. Good, better for exploring rather than someone being around.

Ambrose was....reading. He had this giant tome that was tilted to an angle so that he could read better. Ambrose looked all of nineteen, an interesting attractive look to his dark black hair and storm grey eyes. Nothing much had changed from when his predecessor was here.
As she walked in and greeted out loud, Ambrose blinked and looked up. "Good evening...I think. Can I help you with something, Professor?" he asked with a smile.

At the response to her seemingly one-sided inquiry, Morgana jumped and spun around, finally spotting the figure in front of the large book.
"I...I was just...." she said, catching her breath and readjusting her posture, chin up. "I was just seeing if much had changed since I was a student here. I see not much has." She looked about, waving a curl of incense smoke from her face.
"Professor Morgana LeFaye, Potions." She said, batting at the small white coil before finally stepping out of it and oser to the Divination Professor.

Ambrose nods as he turns a page, eyes gliding across for a moment before standing up and stepping closer, offering his hand to shake. "Ambrose Oakwood. Welcome to my class." He looks around with a small grin. "I kept it mostly the same. I liked the setup. The main thing I added would be...the giant tome back there." He said in regards to the book the height of a small child and lord only knows how thick. "How has your first days been?"

Morgana hesitated and then finally shook the young professor's hand. Not that at 23, she was old, but it was odd to see someone else as young as she was.
"It has been rather...interesting." she said eyeing the giant tome. She approached it and smirked. "That is one big..." she paused as she rounded it, furrowing her brow.
"How are you reading this?"She asked, perplexed. The Divination professors all seemed to be the oddest of the odd.

Ambrose watched her walk around the book and look at the blank pages. He chuckles and walks over, patting the book. "It's attuned to me. It's a magical item that gives me random facts about anything and anyone I ask. And by random...I mean I have no control over what it tells me...at all. It could be something as simple as a person's birthday or something more complicated like the exact time a certain star in the sky is going to burn itself out...and everything in between. But I've learned a lot with this in my possession...and kept a student or two on their toes..." He smirks.

With curious eyes, Morgana smirked. "Oh really? Well isn't that special." She said, touching the exposed page of the book in a quick poking motion, and looking to Ambrose.
"What does it say about me?" She challenged, sure that he was just being quirky and trying to impress her.

Ambrose looked at her for a moment and then walked over to the tome. Turing a page, his eyes move as he reads and then he looks over at her. His face is blank for a moment and then he turns the page again. He looks hesitant...as if whatever he read is something he ins't sure if he wants to talk about.

Morgana rolled her eyes and laughed at the act Ambrose was putting on. He sure knew how to make a good scene. Her hazel gaze moved from him to the book, craning her neck as if she could read it herself.
"Hmmmm. Interesting!" She giggled and looked at Ambrose. "Go on. Cat got your tongue?"

Ambrose shook his head and shrugged. "Alrighty...but..." He got up and moved to the door, making sure no one else was around before closing it and gesturing towards chairs at a table for them to sit at. "Well...let's start off with you. Why do you have such a tough exterior to hide your sadness?"

Morgana watched as Ambrose shut the door. She eyeballed the chair and folded her arms across her chest. "What are you, some kind of shrink?" She said. The deep revelation beyond her favorite color did intrigue her.
After a moment she slowly sat in the chair, legs crossed at her knees. "Bit go on.." she said, her smile having faded. "Next you'll tell me what color underwear I have on." She said, giving an amused snort.

Ambrose waves a hand. "Black with lace but that wasn't as heavy as this one. I mean...why do you feel lost? You're here at Hogwarts and teaching Potions and you went to school here. So...I have to wonder what could make you feel so sad or lost..."

Morgana's smug expression disappeared as he casually mentioned her underwear. And nailed it. "What the...?!" She said, sitting up and then realizing her reaction was a bit obvious. "Well, its a common color and material." She said, slouching.
At Ambrose' question she quirked a brow. "Moreso that I haven't found where I belong. I just started back here. Who is to say it is where I am meant to be?" Morgana said, eyes locking on Ambrose.
"I don't see where I am lonely. Alone? Sort of. I have my ferret. Lonely, I like to think I fair well." Morgana said, reassuringly. More for herself than to convince Ambrose.

Ambrose is quiet and as he looks into her eyes, she can see the storm clouds moving, almost darkening. "Morgana....I am going to ask you something and I am ninety percent sure you're either going to hit me or walk out that door," he says as his voice lowers a bit more. "But did your father do to deserve to be locked in the wine cellar while the house burned?"

Morgana froze. Her sarcastic defenses and smirking stopped. If the already alabaster akinned witch could pale anymore, she would look like snow. Nobody knew he had been locked in the wine cellar. Her eyes locked on Ambrose. Her tongue felt and tasted like a chunk of copper in her mouth. Her extremities went numb. She didn't seem to be able to react more than that.
Eventually, Morgana swallowed and blinked, her eyes feeling dry from staring so long. "He deserved it." She merely said, her eye twitching as her fingers dug into the arms of the chair. It wasn't an admission to her guilt, but merely a vague statement of fact.

Ambrose nodded as he got up and went to the cabinet. He began to pull out ingredients and cups to start making tea. "I can only imagine if he did. I don't know the circumstances. Just that you locked him down there before setting the house ablaze." He brings over things as the tea starts to steep a caress making the water hot. He sits again, eyes catching hers once more. "I don't suppose you want to talk about it?" he asks softly.

Morgana sat, staring at the book as Ambrose went to make tea. "It was a long time ago. He was a bastard. A dictator." She mumbled, not sure how this wandering had escalated so quickly. "You better not turn me in." She said, her voice sharp and dark.
Watching him go about making the tea, she looked back at the book. "There really isn't much to talk about. And no, I don't consider myself to have daddy issues." She muttered, the light taken out of her eyes. What little thst was usually there. God it followed her back here.

Ambrose shakes his head. "No...not daddy issues. Just...a form of abandonment maybe? Could account for the lost and alone feeling. There's also the fact of maybe you had accomplished something that needed accomplishing and now you don't know what else to do. Teaching here could help at least give you focus. You'll meet new people and you never know what will happen..." He smiles as he starts to pour jasmine tea for them both.

Morgana looked at the other professor, her skepticism for the art of Divination fading slowly. Very slowly, but it was doing so. She thanked Ambrose for the tea and looked into the cup. "So are you going to read some tea leaves for me later?" She asked, smirking. Her humor another way to mask her armor being compromised.
"Oh really? Other than being pretty much a female projection of Snape in the classroom, what could I possibly look forward to?" She laughed airily, shaking her head.
"Professor Ambrose, despite being a strange little man, you are interesting to say the least. Not like that old battle axe Trelawney." She said, her face pinching at the memories. "It feels better to be back than I thought. So there is that, at least." Her New Orleans drawl making her words softer and less enunciated.

Ambrose smirks a gives a small bow of his head. "Thank you. I thrive on interesting." He looks at her tea and shakes his head. "The thing about Divination? Not many can do it. And its ok. If we all could do everything, the world would get boring really quick. In here, I try to teach the culture behind Divination and give my students a chance to view things through the eyes of actual Seers. I think that if they can learn to appreciate that then maybe Divination wouldn't be such a joke to some of the magical communities." He sips the tea and then looks up at her again.
"I doubt you would be like any of your predecessors. For starters, that accent tells me that you are either from America, or have spent time there." He chuckles. "I'm sure some of the students will find that fascinating. Also..." He gives her a grin from behind his cup. "I am not what I look to be..." says the nineteen year old looking professor.

Morgana listened to the dialogue that Ambrose delivered to her. She sipped her tea and thought about what he had said. "I am here to teach children not to blow their faces off while mixing ingredients." She exaggerated a faux grin and then it faded from her pale face. She sipped her tea again and looked to Ambrose.
"If I was like my predecessors, it wouldn't be much fun, now would it?" She said, speaking similar words as he had.
"Louisiana. North of New Orleans. Mettaire." She said, reciting the simple description she had become used to saying. Her hazel eyes focused on Ambrose and she smirked.
"Don't tell me. You bat for the other team." Morgana sighs and sets her teacup and saucer in her lap. "It's always the cute ones."

"I visited America once...never made it to New Orleans though. What's it like?"
Ambrose laughs then after her comment about 'the other team' and waves his hand. "No no...though I appreciate the compliment." He sips his tea and sets down his own cup. "I just fine that people are always astonished when they look at me and don't realize that I am actually thirty years old." He smirks.

Morgana shrugged. "It is hard to explain to people. You really have to be there to appreciate it yourself. Everyone praises Mardi Gras, but it is far deeper than that." She said, smirking. "Dark magic is strong there."
Morgana nearly sent her tea flying as Ambrose stated his age. She spilled some on her black skirts and she cursed, trying to brush it away."THIRTY?" She suddenly felt old, even at twenty three. He looked barely nineteen! "Not sure what skin tonic or potion you use, but I need some." She said, steadying her hands and tea. This adventure was getting stranger and stranger.

Ambrose chuckled. "Lets just say its kind of genetic..." says the thirty year old who looks like he's barely out of high school as he runs a hand through his shaggy black hair. His eyes catch hers, the storms seeming to move a bit more. "I don't know why you're worried. Where people still treat me like a teenager, you at least look like a beautiful and grown woman."

Morgana's face went back to being stoic, her hazel eyes watching his grey ones in a way she was almost challenging him. She set her cup amd saucer down on a claw footed side table and cleared her throat.
"Yet still younger and still considered inexperienced. My reputation as a student will always be remembered. It is quite a stigma." Her cheeks faintly colored and she adjusted her fitted jacket, smoothing her skirts as she kept the gaze held. Submission was not in the cards.
"Bred well, charming and knowledgeable." She said, the corner of her mouth finally twitching, although almost unnoticeable.

Ambrose nods and the storms move in his eyes. Challenged? Sure if that was what she wanted. Ambrose smiled. "Younger then me? Perhaps...but I don't see you as inexperienced. I don't know your reputation from before today. The only thing I know is what you've told me and what the book divulged. I know the color of your lace before I knew how old you were..." He shakes his head and sets his teacup aside, interlocking fingers and leaning a little on the table. "And in all honesty, your reputation prior to today isn't something that would be my business unless you would like to tell me."

Morgana listened to Ambrose talk, her attention on him fully as he did so. There was something odd about his eyes. She stared harder before blinking and realizing her eyes felt strained a bit. "Lace and age, favorite color. Bah. Knowing what happened to my father, that is where you got my full attention, Professor." She said, placing a black painted fingertip on his nose as she leaned forward and tapped it.
Morgana came back to her senses and stood, taking hold of the teacup. Walking back to the giant tome, she looked at Ambrose. "So tell me, more book reading or tea leaves?" She asked, the teacup hanging from a pointer finger. "Is tomorrow lace or cotton?" She said, clearly teasing him now. "What else have you tucked away for future ammo?"

Ambrose smirked softly when she tapped his nose. She was interesting to him...someone who had had some things in her past that shaped the woman he saw before him today. She persevered...and he admired that.
Getting up to follow her and leaving his teacup behind, he walked over to the book and ran a hand down the page. "I could ask it again if you'd like. It will be random...but random can be interesting." He patted the book and once more, slightly whirling storm eyes look into her hazel ones. "Shall I?"

Morgana looked at him, moving behind the stand, resting her arms on the top, looking at Ambrose over the tome. "You shall." She said. If curiosity really did kill the cat, she would have used up 4 lifetimes of 9 lives by now. But she hated cats.
"Random can be fun, indeed." She said, her eyes moving to the blank pages, then back to Ambrose. "What do you have for me Professor?"

Ambrose continues to look into her eyes for a few more moments before turning a page in the book. He looked down, eyes reading for a long moment. At one point, his eyebrows scrunch together and he looks like he is rereading something to make sure he read it correctly. Nodding slowly, he looks up at her and tilts his head.
"You are an interesting one, aren't you?" he asks quietly. He runs a hand down the page, stopping mid page and running a finger across lightly. "How long ago did you and your last boyfriend split? Doesn't seem like you split on good terms..."
