Morgana's gleeful expression faded. Her face grew dark. She set the teacup down on the nearest table and looked at Ambrose. "When is it ever on good terms?" She nearly spat, her green eyes locking onto Ambrose and his book. Was there ANYTHING in that damned thing that was positive about her? Was she really that much of a lost cause?
"I think your book needs a happy pill." She said, turning her back and leaning against the stand, arms folded. Morgana started simmering down a bit, and she sighed. It wasn't Ambrose's fault she made crappy decisions. Besides, someone that was prettier than she was, but wasn't a total jerk was fine in her book.
"What else?" She muttered.

Ambrose doesn't move but does watch her, waiting to see if she would walk out. The book was random, he had warned her. It did, however, allow him to get to know someone better...and he was learning a lot about Morgana. Things she would've kept locked up otherwise. He moved around the book and moved to stand in front of her, his eyes moving to lock onto hers. The storms whirled a bit as they stood quietly.
"That you kind of like me already though are hesitant because of the split..." he says finally. "...and that you aren't picky about your sex positions."

Morgana watched as he moved in front of her, not feeling comfortable at first about being faced and blocked from escape. That faded quickly as she met his gaze. At the last two items she froze and felt her face catch on fire. It probably looked like she had gotten a horrible sunburn, because her skin turned so red.
"Ehhh Iiieee ummm" She sputtered, not even knowing what else to say. Oh, Morgana. You have done it now. Always pushing until you can't push no more.
She made a strange noise and failed to talk anymore. There was no way she could speak coherently. For the first time, Morgana was beyond embarassed and mortified. It was as if she were anything but Slytherin alumni.

Ambrose watched her....practically fall apart right there. Ambrose gets a thoughtful look as she goes silent. "Profes....Morgana...do you think that I am about to stand here and reject you? Fear that I am going to tell you to leave or something worse?" he asked quietly. It was clear that the book had reached deep and grabbed onto something she may not have been completely thinking about just yet.

Morgana swallowed, his question hitting her ears like some sort of power punch, knocking some sense into her. This was all moving so fast, her head started to spin a bit as he spoke to her. Anyone else she would have punched, but Ambrose was far too pretty for that.
"Nobody leaves me and doesn't regret it." She said, croaking out her words. She leaned back a bit, her back pressing against the book stand, the smell of incense bombarding her from all sides. Sandalwood, Patchouli, Dragon's Blood.
"How can I fear rejection by somebody I do not even know? Or that has only learned things about me in such a short time?" Morgana squeaked, her intended assertive tone nowhere to be found.

Ambrose stepped back and leaned slightly against the table they had been sitting at. "You're absolutely right, you don't know me. But I don't need a book to tell me that I think you want to get to know me better. So...why not make it even?" He sits and gestures for her to sit again so that she can have access to the door if she likes.
"Ask me anything..."

Morgana looked at Ambrose and skirted him as he went to sit, her gaze on the door. She wasn't sure what was happening to her, but it wasn't anything she had felt before. She hadnt expected anything like this, and usually she was aware and planned for everything. Considering the door once more, Morgana moved towards the chair to sit, slowly doing so in case she wanted to bolt last minute.
"You're more than a wizard?" She asked, slowly lowering herself into the chair, regarding him with a side eye. She would stick around, it wasn't like she had any face to save after all of that, anyway. "You are older than you look. Not a vampire..." she said, trying to work it out.

"Not a vampire no..." He smiles. "There is only one vampire teaching here...but not me." He licks his bottom lip and breathes out slow. "Well...like you I have secrets. What I am is one of them. No I am not a wizard either. I can't say that I am more than a wizard. I am what's called a Changeling." He gestures towards his eyes. "I'm sure you caught my eyes doing what they do...and yes. My being young looking is a side effect of that."

Morgana watched him speak, listening to what he said. She had only read about Changelings. Being that her textbooks were off on their information about vampires, who knew. Relief was there when he said he wasn't a vampire.
"Changeling...." Morgana repeated. "Yes, your eyes. Interesting." She said, noting just how young he did appear. It was hard to consider him a thirty-year-old professor. Morgana thought for a bit longer in silence, her gaze on his.
"Where are you from? In both senses." She asked, starting to relax a little more. At least she knew he wasn't going to eat her. However, she at least knew the vampire he spoke of from the business meeting at the club. That seemed like so long ago.

"That...is a bit harder to explain..." He runs a hand through his hair. "I honestly cannot remember where I am originally from. I know it sounds strange but...a lot of my memories from before twelve years or so aren't all that...intact." He sighs and shrugs. "Something hard to deal with. I know that I was travelling for awhile. And most recently my people signed a truce with the wizards for diplomacy. I started teaching here last year but only very few people know what I am. The Headmistress is one. It's to strengthen relations between our two communities."

Morgana listened to him as he explained. There were days she wished she could forget where she came from, but then she remembered everytime that it kept her from repeating the past and continuing her father's tyranny. She sensed a sadness in his voice. No, not necessarily sadness. Longing maybe?
"You are lonely here, aren't you?" She asked, her hazel gaze on him. "Is there nobody outside your..."people"?" Morgana swore of anyone else walked in and spotted her being so open and vulnerable with Ambrose, she would male sure their tongue made it into her cauldron.

Ambrose is silent a moment before answering. "Lonely is..." he stops and tries again. "I have a few friends, my people...but to a point, yes. I am lonely. Like you, my last relationship didn't end on the best of terms. It left me a bit...hollow for awhile. I don't get to interact with my people often. I enjoy being here. The experiences have been great. But I also feel as if I stand on the outside and watch people have what I lost." He shakes his head. "Wow...I got deep there. Sorry about that..."

Morgana watched as this man, whom she had barely met a few hours ago spoke like he trusted her already. Though rough around the edges, Morgana was loyal. Even if it didn't come off in the cookie cutter way most would think of it as.
At the mention of his last relationship, she furrowed her brow. "I can't imagine you being left like that. I am trying, but I can't. Me? Sure. In, out, WhamBamThankYouMaam." Morgana bit her lip and hesitated. Slowly reaching out, she put her hand gently on his, trying not to anticipate a withdrawal.
"I am so sorry for that." She said, sighing. "I really am horrible at sentiments."

Ambrose looked at her hand as it laid on his before looking up at her with a small smile. "It's alright. I know you aren't trying to offend or upset me." He takes a breath and lets it out slow before catching her eyes, the storms in his whirling a bit faster. There was still a bit to learn about the Potions professor...but she was reaching out and trying to get to know and understand him. It was...nice.
"Another question?" he asks, seemingly a bit more relaxed after a few moments.

Morgana's eyes danced in the lowight of the room. She thought for a moment and gave a crooked smirk. "Do I worry you?"
It wasnt unusual for people to avoid her. It seemed like a pheromone or something or her aura. Her father always told her she reeked of rotten onion spiritually. It was why she never had any "nice" friends. That the rotten was attracted to the rotten.
"Because it wouldn't surprise me in the least, if I did. We both have to work here and I am sure being the Potions Professor immediately made me the one to avoid." She chuckled and gently pushed a stray piece of his dark hair from his face. She watched his eyes swirl.
"I bet you are terrible at poker." She whispered, smirking.

Ambrose chuckles. "No...you don't. If anything? You intrigue me. Sure...there are some not so happy things that happened. But...you've overcome and the woman sitting here in front of me has the strength to move forward. It's admirable. You being the Potions professor just tells me that if I ever need to deal in alchemy? I should come to you for your expertise." He tilts his head. "Why would I avoid you for that?" he asks curiously.

Morgana eyed him sideways again and smirked. "Well then, I will pretendto know my stuff." She laughed lightly and stood, holdinf his hand and placing her other hand around it to enclose it. "If you ever need me, you know where to find me. With the toads, rats and other dungeon dwellers."
"I find it hard to believe that someone who can see so many things can be intrigued." She let his hands loose and stepped to the window, the stars bright in the sky.
Letting her eyes shift about, she said softly, "I don't suppose I intrigue you enough to see you again? You know, outside of work." She mumbled,

Ambrose watches as she walks over to the window and is quiet as she enjoys the night sky. Standing, he walks over and joins her, looking out at the world. "I can see so many things...but not always understand them. So...yes I am intrigued. Intrigued to get to know you and understand you more." He looks over at her. "And yes...you do intrigue me. More then enough." He gives her a soft smile. "Maybe this weekend we can go get a drink?"

Morgana listened to him as he spoke and smiled without taking her eyes off the stars. "Well, Profe..Ambrose..you may be in for all sorts of surprises. A book even as big as that one cant hold all of my secrets. You will just have to learn the old fashioned way." She looked at him from the corner of her eye then back to the stars.
"I have been craving a Butter Beer for ages. It just isn't the same in the States." She said, finally turning to face him. "I will let you decide when it is a good time for you. Afterall, you have a better view of the future than I do. Goodnight, Ambrose." She said, kissing him quickly on the cheek and turning for the door in a flurry of black skirts and billowing long black hair and onto the spiral staircase.

Ambrose was about to answer and blinks in surprise as she kisses his cheek and runs off before he can say anything. Smiling to himself, he shakes his head and sits at his desk, ignoring the book for a moment. Touching his cheek where he still felt her kiss him, he felt his heart beat a little faster. "Intriguing indeed..." he said softly to himself. He turned to the book and patted it.
The future looked very interesting for him...
