Agatha smiles at Calista, "Masterful performance indeed lass. Ten out of ten. And good evening, Professor McGriffin. Welcome finally to our little island paradise. I see you found us okay."
She brushed a twig from her long grey hair. Laughed a little waving the children closer, encouraging the kittens to come out of hiding.
"A pantermine for our little ones to start the summer. No harm intended. I haven't had such a good tussle in years. I saw a little of what happened behind. Are you an animagus too, Professor McGriffin? And, nice shield Work!"
Agatha lights a cigarette, then reaches into her knitting bag and offers candy to everyone.

Calista looked at the girls and sighed, picking out one last leaf from her hair. As everyone seemed to return to their senses she brushed off her shirt and pants, looking up to the newly arrived adult.
"Thank you, entertainment with education. I am Calista Redthistle. The pleasure is all mine." When the elf appeared, Calista startled a bit. She hadnt seen a house elf in ages, at least not since she was a young teenager. "Why thank you." She said, a slight nod to the house elf.
Looking about, Calista furrowed her brow. "It looks like we are quite the exclusive group here tonight. Are you two girls going to be alright? It wasn't too much of a fright, was it?" She asked, addressing the girls.
"We have met." She said, smiling at Agatha and her introduction to the children.

Kiami blinks, letting her mind wrap around the events that just unfolded. Standing she wipes the dirt off her jeans, and softly calls Gomez to her. His short little legs, scurrying across the short distance made Kiami laugh.
She stoops to pick her kitten up and nuzzles him to her cheek. She was glad Gomez didn't mind that she had been scared for a few minutes.
Smiling she turns to Ms Redthistle, "I've met you before! On the first day of camp! Except you were you, and well... not a panther. I like you better like this though, you don't look as scary."
Still nuzzling Gomez, she looks over at the other professor, her eyes bright as she spoke. "Thank you for protecting us ma'ma. Your shield was amazing, can you teach me how to do that? That would be awesome!"
Kiami looked from her to her house elf, and bowed in greeting to him, "how nice to meet you sir. Gomez would love some cream, if you don't mind. Wouldn't you Gomez" She asks, as she scratches behind his ears.
His soft mew, sounding like an agreement to her words, than before she could stop him he jumped out of her arms and scurried over to the house elf, happily making circles around his legs as he mewed up to him.
Turning to face Agatha Kiami can't help but laugh at her words, knowing now that it had all been planned, she could see why the woman had enjoyed the tussle.
The girl did love her sweets, so she didn't hesitate when Agatha offered candy. "Thank you, ma'ma." She said, as she popped a piece in her mouth.
"Ms. Agatha, can I be an ani.. ani.. can I be an animal too? I want to be an owl! Like the lady that saved us!" She exclaimed as she pointed in the professors' direction. "Can we learn that at camp!?"

Matilda looked on at the whole accord wondering what the heck had just happened. She got it was a joke of some sort to scare them, but really? Was that form or method necessary? Matilda had stopped laughing and was now trying to dry her tears. Damn was she sensitive. Morticia hadn't reappeared yet and Matilda worried for her safety.
When the new adult patted her head, Matilda felt uneasy and stepped back. Everyone was talking all at once and happy now. She wasn't laughing a moment ago though because she was happy, she was laughing out of nerves. She took another step back and eyed everyone.
Yes what they did, changing was amazing, but Matilda wasn't excited about the whole rest of it. Then a odd creature stood in front of her, talking and dressed like a person. She stared at the thing as it spoke to her and Kiami. Kiami didn't seem concerned at all about it but Matilda wasn't so sure.
She watched silent. She didn't want candy. She wanted to run, still did. With another step the child turned from the group and ran off into the woods. She needed to find Morticia and she needed to clear her head.
Several moments later she heard Morticia calling out, she was meowing and Matilda stopped among the trees and looked up. Morticia was up a tree crying for help. "Morticia, it is okay, come here baby." Matilda's own voice was shaky and she hoped the cat wouldn't shy away from her. It took several more attempts to bring the kitten down the tree before she finally landed in the girl's arms.
"Let's go back to the cabin. I don't feel good." She whispered to the kitten as she clung to Matilda's hold. Matilda didn't feel good, she had emotions of terror running through her and all she could think about was Sarah and having those same emotions before. She couldn't place them. She wondered if she had dreamed about it? She didn't know. Couldn't put her finger on it either.
Then she thought back to the night of the gas leak, nothing. She couldn't remember one single detail about it. Maybe she blocked it for some reason? People did that didn't they? But she wasn't there, Mr. Benny had told her as much. She shivered and finally made it back to the cabin and curled up in her bunk and cried with Morticia curling into her.

Victoire had serious doubts about going to the bonfire, bonfires meant open flames. And she didn't do fire, not since Dom had accidentally set her hair on fire. Course that had been over ten years ago, but it had scarred Vic and she wasn't ashamed to admit that she wanted nothing to do with open flames, probably another reason why she had issues with potions. Still, she had told herself, she was going to have fun this summer and she had meant it. Even if she was still curious about the Fae. So she had taken her time down to the circle. Course the howl hadn't helped either, but she still went. Making sure the bag Professor Mcgriffin had given for her birthday was still tied to her pants, she might be hot in her long sleeves and pants but she wasn't about to get burned this time. She even had her hair back in a bun. Nope, she was determined nothing was going to catch fire this time around.
Though from everyone's reactions it seemed she had missed a commotion. Still, she smiled, "Sorry for running late, wanted to send a quick word home. Seems I missed all the excitement."

Agatha watched Matilda grow more and more uncertain. When the girl tpran off she turned to Calista .,, speaking softly ... "go after her for me. Make sure she's ok. She's new to the idea of magic, and possibly scared and confused."
Then she turned to Victoire ..." Nice of you to join us, Miss Weasley. Keeping up family tradition by being late I see. Good to know." She chuckled, and offered the candy bag to Victoire.
"Now, let's see ... who knows how to start a fire?"

Kiami huffed silently in her little girl way, gathering Gomez in her hands she wandered over to a near by log and sat down, mindlessly petting him as he curled up in his favorite spot on her shoulder. She certainly didn't know how to start a fire, not without magic, and she still wasn't able or allowed to use it.
She wondered briefly about Matilda, if she should go after her and check on her, but decided against it when Agatha told Ms. Redthistle to go check on her. After all Kiami didn't really know the girl that well, they had just met.
She honestly couldn't understand why Matilda had taken off like that once everything had been settled and seemingly explained. She briefly wondered if Matilda's reaction had been because of the explosion which seemed so long ago now, but than Kiami wasn't sure about that.
She shrugged off her own thoughts, and sat alone watching and listening to the adults around her, pushing away Matilda's antics. It wasn't her fault the girl had grown up with muggles instead of with magic like she had. Why did she even care about Matilda's feelings? The girl had spent the whole first day screaming at her and calling her a liar after all.
Kiami silently followed the adults with her eyes, she wondered briefly who the new girl was that had just popped up and why she was dressed so oddly with it being so hot outside.
Still, she said nothing. With the stunt Matilda had just pulled, she felt the adults were suddenly worried about the little muggle turned magic girl, so why would they care about Kiami now?
Her brow wrinkled at her own thoughts, why did she feel such intense jealously towards Matilda? She had never felt this way towards anyone before, and she couldn't quite understand or explain her strange feelings.
So, instead she put on her best cheerful smile, pushing her feelings down, and pulled a small string from the pocket of her jeans, and began to entertain herself by playing with Gomez.

Agatha focuses for a moment on Kiami.
"You asked about becoming an animagus, dear. It is not something to be taken lightly. You need to be much older, with a great skill in transfiguration. Then, there are weeks of meditation and strict commitment to your goal. And if you are not completely set on your goal, it may not even work. Once you succeed, you must register with the Ministry. To be unregistered is a crime. Animagi can be dangerous. Perhaps, when you are seventeen, if you still wish to learn, you will find a teacher. I'm not sure I'll still be around by then." She cackles happily.
She turns to Quinn.
"Thank you for coming, Professor McGriffin. And for your timely display of shielding magic. While I agree such lessons are important, here at camp we aim for fun. The kids get enough strict lessons at school."
She offers the candy bag to Quinn, then offers her a cigarette.
"Now ... fire ... shall we do this the muggle way, or with magic?"

Thulile laughed as she stepped out of the cabin with Matilda, shaking her head at the sudden exuberance the pre-teen exhibited. Thulile was happy the tears were gone now, though. That Matilda's fear had abated. For now. And with Morticia acting as she was, Thulile could guess this was no front. Animals were very intuitive with their masters, after all.
"I'm afraid you want to avoid actual pixies. They're nothing like Tinkerbell, and are evil little things." She shook her head. "Not very nice. But there are plenty of other fantastical creatures and magical beings. Just don't go calling them monsters, alright? They all have feelings too." Thulile cautioned. Knowing it was the brashness of youth and trusting Matilda would learn well.
And so Thulile was finally making the rest of the trek to the bonfire, Matilda returning with her for any to stumble on in the in between...

Kiami paused her swinging of the string in front of Gomez and looked up at Ms Agatha as she spoke. She listened intently, a childish pout clouding her features as her shoulders slumped down, Agatha's words making her seem yet more cross. "I don't want to wait until I am seventeen though, that's so far away! I'm a good learner, why can't I learn now?"
She kicked at the dirt with the toe of her shoe, disappointed that Ms Agatha had said she would have to wait until she was older. In her child mind, she didn't think that was very fair, and she didn't really like the cackle after the whole "I may not be here." part, but she kept that to herself.
She tried to make herself cheer up, it wasn't Agatha's fault she felt weird. Secretly, she blamed Matilda. She also knew Ms Agatha was right, her parents had told her many magic things would have to wait until she was older. That didn't mean she had to like it though.
She perked up again when Agatha mentioned lighting the fire, asking how it should be done. She clapped her hands together, her smile almost reaching her eyes with excitement as she exclaimed "Oh, can we light it with magic, please? Please! It would be so much fun to watch!"

Victoire smiled at Agatha, "Yes, but never late for food. Besides someone has to keep up the tradition." While she didn't really like being late, still this involved fire. So at least she had shown up. Because she wasn't about to tell anyone she had a fear of open flames. Still, she took a candy from the bag, before popping it into her mouth to suck on. Blanching a little when there was the mention of fire. Nope, she wasn't going to leave at the mention of fire, she was going to stay. And she was going to enjoy herself, have fun. And go back to school and prove to Professor Oakwood that she knew how to have fun.
Still, her curiosity was perked at the mention animagus. It had been something she had thought doing herself, but she wasn't sure yet. Still to shift to something different was exciting to her. Maybe she could talk to Professor Rai could help her with it? Though she didn't get the young girls excitement over starting a fire, why did people have to like something that could destroy something? It was odd, but she kept that herself. While she thought about other things in her mind to herself.

Agatha nods to Victoire, but concentrates on Kiami.
"Because, young lady, you have not yet cast a single charm in your entire life, and if you screw up transfiguration, you could die. You don't even have a wand yet. It won't be issued to you until you get to school. Don't fly before you can crawl, what you want to do now most adult wizards cannot accomplish. Patience. It is an important lesson."
She waves her wand, and fireworks erupt from within the. bonfire. They fly high, taking the form of a dragon that swoops and dives. When it gets near the bonfire, it breaths flame, igniting the timbers, then the dragon explodes into more fireworks.

Matilda smiled as she walked with Ms. Masters to the bonfire. She saw the light from the fire through the trees before they made it there and alas the fire was lite. Matilda was listening to Ms. Masters speaking as well. "I will keep that in mind and I won't call them monsters. I am sorry. I didn't mean anything bad by it."
She smiled and saw that another girl had appeared as well. She thought she caught a glimpse of her when she first showed up but she wasn't sure. She knew that there were at least two other kids here as well. She wondered if she had a wand and could do magic as well.
Morticia took it upon herself at that point to run and tackle Gomez from Kiami's hand and Matilda laughed softly as she let go of Ms. Masters hand. She went over and sat next to Kiami. "Hey, you okay?" She asked her in a hushed whisper. "I am sorry for my reaction, I am just so new to all of this. I didn't know what to expect." She sighed and took her hand. "I am sorry. Forgive me?" She smiled and hugged the girl and turned back to everyone else. "I am sorry for that reaction."

"I know you didn't. You'll be fine, I'm sure." Thulile said before being distracted by the fire and everyone. turning her attention back to Matilda, she watched as the young girl ran off toward another, Morticia pouncing on the girl's kitten. Then proceeded to apologize for how she had acted. Thulile gave a slight shake of her head over how polite Matilda was. For a girl of her circumstances, it was amazing.
"Hello everyone, Agatha," She said, nodding to the older woman. "I'm Thulile Masters, a counselor here. I went to Ilvermorny, but I'm living in England right now. And I'm an artist. I hope we get to have a lot of fun together." Thulile said as an introduction, waving at everyone.

Calista watched as Matilda ran off and nodded at Agatha's request, shifting into her panther form so that she could see and travel better through the wooded shortcut she planned to take. She would sfhit back to her human self before Matilda was found, so as not to scared the child. Never being around magic? That was why the poor thing was so confused and upset. The cat padded through the trees, alternating loping with jogging through the underbrush. When she reached the cabins, all were empty. She heard voices moving back towards the campfire and saw an adult with what looked like Matilda. Good, she was found.
Before heading back to the bonfire, the cat kept going for a bit before finding a pond, getting a quick drink and then slinking back over tot he firelit circle. Remaining in cat form, she entered the ring of light and sat a small distance away from the children, her green eyes hooded and tail casually moving side to side. There was no agitation and no aggression in the abnormally large panther this time. The slightly notched right ear twitched as she stared at the children and other adults, extending her head slightly and then sitting back upright.
Eyes on the newcomers, one by one, she stood up and slowly walked to Kiami and Matilda, body relaxed and a low, gutteral grumble coming from inside her. It was almost a purr, but more like an apology. The panther stopped near Matilda and extended her head to her.

Matilda sat with Kiami and watched the interactions of everyone around them. She was frozen in her place as the panther came out of the woods. It laid by the fire for a moment then say up again. She was concerned but it was only her fear talking. When it came over towards her and Kiami, Morticia went to her first. She sniffed the big animal and then swatted at it's tail playfully.
The kitten had seemed to overcome the fear quickly, maybe it fed from Matilda's emotions? She wasn't sure. When the panther made a sound she did her best not to jump. It tilted it's head at her and she gingerly moved her hand to the panther. She shouldn't be afraid. She was scolding herself inside. It was an irrational fear at this point as she watched it turn into a woman once.
Her hand shaky finally reach and touched the panther's fur. She smiled and relaxed as she pet the large kitty. "Don't scare me like that again please" She whispered as she scratched behind an ear.

The large cat held its tail up for the kitten to play with, keeping it just out of reach most times and yet letting it just get its tiny paws on it before pulling it away.
Green eyes half lidded, the panther rubbed into the scratching slightly so as not to knock the poor girl over. A deep purr emitted forth as if in agreement with Matilda and the black panther closed its eyes, keeping a small injury on its shoulder and neck from being touched. It was slightly better now, but still ached.

Quinn quietly and graciously refused the offers from Agatha, and faded to the background for a bit. She needed to analyze the students and the other counselors, this was no time for leisure.
After a little while it was obvious that the campers were being slow. Only a few had shown up at the bonfire so far, out of the twenty or so currently enrolled at the camp. Once he was done distributing cream and hot cocoa, Quinn murmured to Dergal that they needed to go and collect the others. This was a mandatory bonfire event, after all.
The elf cast a look around at the turnout, nodded in agreement, and Disapparated with a pop. His mistress followed suit, and over the next 10 minutes they searched the island and rustled up around 15 more campers in various states of disarray and annoyance. Some of them were still dripping from being plucked out of the lake, and some of them grumbled darkly to each other, but once they saw the candy and other things being passed around they brightened up.
Now it was turning into a real bonfire, the scared little American girl had returned, and Quinn knew just what else to add as a finishing touch: music! With a final jump to her tent and back, her set of enchanted djembe drums were set free from their carrying case and told to "play!". The three drums floated into the air and began a lively beat, and Dergal went back to providing refreshments.
Wand in hand, the professor faded back into the background, amusing herself by creating illusory dancing elementals in the fire.

"There, now, isn't that the sweetest. Well done, Matilda, for overcoming your fear. While we had intended to scare you girls a little, we hadn't meant for it to be so great a fright. I owe you both something nice for being such a great sport."
Agatha stood, picked up a stray pine cone and tossed it into the bonfire, which was roaring happily.
"When this calms a little, we can toast some marshmallows, and tell some ghost stories. What do you say?" She laughed her old woman laugh, then turned to the three counsellors ... "Since we only have mostly young'uns right now, could one of you fetch some spoons from the dining hall and we can have some races."
she looks over as Quinn herds the latecomers in.
"Thank you, dear. Well done. Excellent initiative! And music! Calista and I had talked about music, but got a little distracted. You are a peach. Do you know any good ghost stories?"

Matilda watched the fire dance as the cone was thrown into it. Still petting the large cat's head. The sound from the pine cone sent Morticia into hiding for a moment. Then a bunch more kids showed up. Matilda was ecstatic. She heard the music start to play and she was all grins and smiles.
"How did those drums do that?!" She asked as the fire started to move as well. "That is so awesome!" She stared into the fire and looked around at the adults. "Can you teach us that stuff? I mean I know we can't actually do magic but that is so neat!"
She watched other kids run around and play and Matilda was filled with delight. She wished she had her sketch book. Wait, she had it when they first came to the fire. She looked around the area and saw it lying in the dirt. She went and grabbed it and pulled out a pencil from her pocket and began to draw. Sketching out different things around the area. She couldn't wait to paint something later about this. Capturing the moment into a painting with the paints that Ms. Masters's had given her would do this event justice.

Thulile was happy to watch as Matilda reacted with the others and got over her fear of what had happened. It seemed things got even better when other children arrived. Good, that would help keep Matilda distracted. At the request for spoons to be retrieve Thulile perked up a bit. "I'll go." She offered, now that Matilda was settlign in a bit.
Done for only a short amount of time, Thulile quickly returned with the spoons and handed them over to Agatha. "Here you are." Looking over she saw that Matilda had resorted to drawing and smiled some. That was much better than the crying, fearful girl of earlier.

Agatha thanked a Thulile for the spoons, the reached into her knitting basket and pulled out a knitted chicken.mshenwaved her wand, and it laid a dozen little knitted eggs.
"There, now. Does anyone know how the egg and spoon race is run?" She smiles broadly.

Vic just watched everyone come to the fire, sure she was starting to sweat but she wasn't about to run the risk of getting caught on fire again. Nope, not going to happen.
So when she heard the request for spoons and then saw the chicken lay the knitted eggs, she shot her hand up in the air. "I do, have done something similar at my gramps and gran's." So break what was on the spoon but be the fastest. Rules, couldn't be that different. And she was ready to be away from the open flames.

"Right then, Miss Weasley ... given you've knowledge of this humble muggle tradition, you can be in charge."
She hands Victoire the spoons and eggs, and shuffles her to an open area away from the fire. A flick of her wand and racing lanes are created, with a ribbon of flags for the end, and a line at the beginning to start behind, the lands divided by more levitating ribbons.
"Let's see what our young charges can do!"
She sits back down, grinning. She pulls out her knitting and begins to knit as she watches.

Blinking Kiami shook her head, commotion, music, talking, and other children filled the clearing. She must have become lost in her thoughts, as she had been entranced by the flames of the bonfire. Looking around she found Gomez curled up next to Morticia, the two kittens watching the other children run around. Morticia? When had she come back? Kiami gazed around, she smiled when she found Matilda drawing in her sketch book. Kiami was happy the girl had come back.
She scanned the group and found herself quietly humming to the music that played from the drums that floated above the party. Magic drums! She'd never seen those before! She clapped happily as she watched the instruments for a minute, the melody of the song they played out filling her with happiness and excitement. She couldn't believe all the children and adults that had finally shown up for the bonfire, maybe the games would start next! She couldn't wait!
Standing up Kiami stretches, and laughs as one of the children that had come in earlier grabs her hand and suddenly Kiami is pulled into a dance circle, that began to form around the fire. She shrugged, and smiled her eyes twinkling as she became dizzy from dancing around the fire. She laughed again, and briefly thought about pulling Matilda in, but when she made it to the side of the fire where she had a clear view Matilda was busy drawing away, and Kiami decided not to disturb her.
Agatha's voice, though soft and quiet grabbed her attention as she began to speak. Kiami almost squealed with glee, the games were starting! The dancing stopping as all the children turned their attention to Agatha, Kiami could feel a light sheen of sweat on her forehead but she ignored it, as she pushed her glasses back up her nose. An egg race? She loved egg races! She was practically bouncing in her spot as someone explained how the game worked, she couldn't wait for the race to start!

Thulile merely smiled and stepped back, allowing Agatha to direct for her little game. Thulile ended up sitting on a log to watch the proceedings. Close to Matilda as she drew, though hoping she would put the drawing aside to play as well. But Thulile would understand if she didn't sometimes you just had to draw.

The large cat lay near the kittens and the drawing girl, her tail lashing as she watched the festivities. From the shadows, a white cat emerged, one blue eye and one green eye, its coat so white it almist glowed. It approached Calista and jumped on her back, tucking its front paws and closing its eyes. Its round face and body almost Buddha like.

Victoire let herself be lead to a clearing, where the racing lanes had appeared. Once she was sure that she was a comfortable distance from the fire. She took off her sweatshirt. That was the drawback of being scared of fire. Summer in Greece, then a bonfire didn't make her very comfortable. So she was glad that she kept her tank top on underneath. So she could at least cool down a little bit. Once that was out of the way, she picked up the spoons and eggs. Herded the group to the different lanes. While she explained the object, which was to keep the egg on the spoon. While going down to the end and then back to the beginning. She went down the line giving the campers a spoon and egg each giving them time to get their egg balanced before saying, "On your mark, get set, Go!"

Matilda sat and watched. She was never good at races and she wasn't about to try. She laughed softly though as she watched a white cat come out and jump up on the panther. "Your friend is beautiful." She looked from the panther to the cat. She noted the two different eyes and put that to memory for later. It was beautiful. She smiled and looked back at the races.
Flipping another page in her sketch book she began drawing other scenes going on around the camp fire.

Calista sat up in her haunches and shifted back to her human form. She bent down and scooped up the white cat, smiling. "This is Nova. Nova, this is Matilda and..." she looked at the small kitten blinking at her from the ground.
She sat next to Matilda and peered at the sketch book. "So you like the arts?" She asked, Nova jumping from her lap and joining the kitten on the ground.
