Kiami was excited, she was going to the same school her mother went to! She had received her owl earlier in the week and she couldn't be more excited that she was magic! Of course she knew about it, she had been waiting feverishly for the owl to come in and when it finally arrived she was thrilled. To make it even better, her parents sent her to Greece for a summer magical camp! She carried her stuff and went up to the cabin marked #2. She didn't know who had which bunk but she liked the number 2 for some reason. When she went inside she saw several bunks.
She tossed her stuff onto a top bunk off to the left side of the room. It didn't look like anyone had claimed a bed in here yet which was okay with her. Hopefully though she would meet some friends go to school with her in the fall and would learn more.

Matilda saw the girl seemingly skipping pass, she hadn't yet herself picked out a spot, she didn't know where to go. She couldn't believe when Dristan told her about the owl that came in. SHE WAS MAGIC!! She was special!! It made her feel all giddy inside and she couldn't wait to start meeting new people. She hadn't asked Dristan if she could tell Sarah, but she hoped when she went state side she could tell one of her best friends!
Matilda followed the younger girl in to the second cabin and put her stuff on the bunk below here. "Hi, I am Matilda." She said looking at the girl in the glasses.

Kiami stopped at the sound of a voice behind her. Finally, a friend! she thought as she turned around to face the voice. "Hi I'm Ki..." Her words trailed off as she met this girls eyes.. She was startled and stunned, memories of the explosion, of this girls face, flooded her for a second. She was at a loss for words as she stood there staring at the girl. With a vigrious shake of her head that day of the explosion faded from her mind, finding her voice, she forces a smile and sticks out her hand. "Kiami, I'm Kiami. Sorry, it's just.. You look.. Like someone I've seen before." With a chuckle Kiami shrugged, not knowing if she should mention that fateful day to her, or wait. Maybe the girl wasn't ready to talk, maybe she didn't remember that day, and Kiami didn't want to be sad again at the thought of Sarah.

Matilda looked at the girl as she started to speak. Then she watched as her face turned almost pale like something was wrong. When she shook her head, her face came back less pale to Matilda but there was still something in her eyes. "I am Matilda, I don't think we have ever met before. I don't live in Europe, though...you don't sound like it either. Are you from the states also?" Matilda looked at her with a bright smile on her face. "That is where I am from, I am staying in London though with a very nice couple because my home, well. I am an orphan and they took me in when there was a gas leak and explosion at my home." She smiled as if nothing else had happened, because for Matilda that is what she believed and what she knew. That is what she was told and she had no reason to doubt anyone anyway. Teagan and Mr. Benny and even Dristan wouldn't lie to the girl. They loved her and she was growing to love them as well. It would be a sad day when she had to go back to the states. "I am going to be going to Ilvermorny in the fall. I just got my owl and then I got to come here. I am really excited. It will be my first year. What about you?" Matilda was so excited that her life took an awesome turn.

Kiami listening to Matilda, her story didn't match up with what Kiami had heard her parents talking about that night. Kiami knew, that whomever had told this girl what had happened was false, that some how this girl, was the only surviver, but she looked so happy that Kiami couldn't bring herself to tell her the truth, instead she turned around tossing the rest of her things on the top bunk and than back at Matilda, her smile beaming to cover the ache in her heart. "No, I'm not from Europe, I'm from the states. Actually, I didn't live far from your home. I played at the park there all the time. I loved it. I cried when I heard about the gas leak, and I really miss Sarah. She was a friend of mine from there." Kiami wasn't sure if this girl knew Sarah, and though she didn't know the full truth of that day, in her heart Kiami felt Matilda deserved to know the truth, at least about Sarah, if she did know her. Kiami beamed again at the mention of Ilvermorny, her dark eyes dancing with excitement under her glasses. "I'm going to Ilvermorny! I got my owl last week, I've been waiting for forever to get my letter! My parents sent me here for the summer so I could learn more than they could teach me before school starts. I'm so excited!"

Matilda watched as Kiami seemed to be lost for words at the moment, she shrugged it off, meeting new people could cause that right? "From my home?" How did she know...then she replied. "Oh! You know Sarah also? Wait was? Why isn't she still your friend? I sent her a letter a few weeks ago about the place I am in. Mr. Benny told me she was just placed in another home along with all the other kids and adults. Why do you miss her? Did they move her far away? I hope that she got my letter. I am waiting for a response. Dristan.....he is the one who took me in along with Teagan. He said he would send the letter to Mr. Benny and that when Sarah responded I would get the letter." She looked concerned. She didn't respond to the last part, she was stuck on the whole Sarah thing.

Sitting on the edge of the lower bunk behind her, Kiami patted the mattress as she scooted against the bed frame, motioning for Matilda to come join her. Though she didn't really know Matilda, and didn't really understand why so many people lied to her about the explosion, the children, and the adults, Sarah had been Kiami's friend, her only friend, and for her sake, she knew Matilda deserved to know the truth, even if it hurt. Being lied to about someone didn't sit well with Kiami, besides, it wasn't in her nature to keep quiet even if she knew she should. "Matilda.." Kiami could feel the lump in her throat, instinctively she drew her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, sadness filling her dark eyes as she tried to find the words Matilda desperately needed to hear. "Sit down....please." She managed trying to form the words that bounced around in her head.

Matilda watched Kiami what was wrong? What was bothering the girl? She didn't understand. She watched as the girl turned and sat down on another bunk and brought her knees to her chest. "What is wrong?" She asked as the girl looked like she was on the verge of tears. Did Matilda say something to upset her? She didn't understand where this was coming from. She wasn't sure why Kiami suddenly seemed so distraught. Matilda went and sat next to the girl, looking at her with concern. "Are you okay?" She asked in a whisper as she at her big brown eyes.

Kiami tried to give a reassuring smile as Matilda sat down next to her, how could she tell someone so innocent that the friend they shared hadn't survived the explosion? In fact, Kiami knew that no one else had survived that night, her parents had said only a girl survived, but Kiami couldn't tell Matilda all of that and break her heart more than she was about too. "Matilda, you should know, Sarah was my friend, my only friend, and it seems you were her friend as well.." Stopping Kiami took a deep breathe, willing the tears that stung her eyes to stop before she continued "it's only fair that you know the truth... Sarah didn't survive that explosion.." Kiami stared into Matilda's eyes, as she half spoke half whispered her words. It had been weeks since that night, and even though Kiami knew Sarah hadn't survived part of her still refused to believe it.

Matilda stared at the girl sitting there. It seemed hard what she had to say and she saw the emotions surrounding the words that now came out of her mouth. Matilda looked at her in disbelief. "No! You lie! You are wrong!" She screamed and stood up and stared at the girl who she thought would be a friend. "No! Mr. Benny told me no one was home! Why would he lie?! It was a gas leak! You can smell gas! Everyone would of gotten out! They told me no one was hurt! Why are you lying to me!!"
Matilda had tears coming down her face and she didn't wait for an answer from Kiami, she grabbed her bags tossed them onto a bunk on the far wall of the cabin and than she ran outside. Crying about the lies that Kiami just dared to tell her.

Kiami sighed, a deep sad sigh, that seemed more like it belonged to an adult than to a child. She watched as Matilda cried, throwing her things on the furthest bunk from her and stormed out the cabin door before Kiami could say a word. She hadn't lied, she had no reason to lie. She was a child, she couldn't tell Matilda why the adults had lied, she herself didn't know the answer to that. She stood up, her own tears streaming down her dark cheeks, and followed Matilda out the door. Briefly, she thought about leaving the girl alone and going off to her own corner of solitude, but Kiami hadn't had anyone to comfort her when she had learned of Sarah all those weeks ago, so she knew the pain of dealing with it alone, and though Matilda hadn't believed her, Kiami felt her feet follow this girl with what felt like their own accord. Her bottled up grief quietly spilling out as she followed Matilda with eyes blinded by tears. She said nothing to make the girl stop running, or to make her realize that Kiami was following her, but she kept a steady pace behind Matilda as her tears ebbed away to an empty ache in her heart.

Deciding to look around the camp a bit more on her own, Calista walked down the path to the cabins that houses the campers. Getting a layout for the grounds on a more detailed level would make her feel a bit more comfortable. There was something eerie about a place where parebts shipped their children off for the summer. At least her son was with her parents.
After a few minutes she heard rapid footsteps of children, the rate unmistakable. As she rounded the corner, she had to stop suddenly to keep from being run over by a clearly upset younger girl, not far behind another one in pursuit. She cleared her throat and in her best authritative volume, called out to them, turning to join the foot race that had just passed her.
"HOLD UP!!! WAIT! PLEASE STOP RUNNING!" She held her hand up as if hailing a taxi, her pace steady and mindful so as not to catch her toe and end up tumbling to the ground.
