Aisha nodded her head in understanding and watched the cat move from the hearth, than seemingly disappear again into the shadows. "He seems like a lovely companion for you." She smiled softly.
She was thinking about the question. What drove her curiosity? Besides Mary? In this moment is was Mary. "Ambrose spikes my curiosity as well. Just something about him, though I am not sure just yet." The question was so broad. "For the longest time, my lustful nature drove me. After I time though you begin to wonder and seek out other things. Thus how I ended up back here. I am not sure what truly drives me to be honest. I just have an insatiable hunger for knowledge in things that peek my interest."
She stopped for a moment and took a sip of tea. "I enjoy passing on my learned lessons to the students and it is a wonderful to watch the flourish and come up with their own ideas and see where they go with their own lives."
She thought about her answer wondering if she was right in what she said, she hadn't ever really thought about what drives her. She always just sort of went with things until she wanted to run things her own way but even that didn't quench her. Her sabbatical away didn't seem to help her either, thus going back to her original dream of being here. Though she felt as though her experiences here as a Professor were going to challenge her in ways she hadn't thought of yet. There was always something else around the corner.
"There is always something around the corner. That saying 'The grass is greener on the other side', I go and explore, hoping something will sate me enough to indulge in all the experiences that are offered. I don't know if my curiosity is a downfall or not, someday maybe it will land me in the place my destiny will finally be known to me. But until such a day, I just follow my instincts." She held her tea and looked down into it the swirling liquid.
She was just the way she was and finding words to describe herself other than what she had done in the past seemed harder to explain then she first thought. She would have to make a note of that and think more on it later.
