The police arrive at the house around the time that the Investigators manage to get out of the garden. They would arrive as Deputy Simon failed to report a current status into the offices. Upon seeing Caleb they would ask questions while waiting for an ambulance to come get him (not allowing him to decline the ride to the Arkham Hospital).
The Officers would ask everyone to fill out a statement on what happened at the house and to the deputy.

Matilda looks a little bit shaken at the events in the house and garden. She quietly looks at the written statement form before she fills it out.
She thinks if she should add how she saw the plants kill Officer Simon or not, I mean it is not like they would believe her. She chooses not to include it.
She looks at the officer when giving her statement before asking "Unless I'm still needed. I don't fancy staying here. Am I okay to leave?"

The office reads her statement, he isn't hiding that it looks absolutely insane, "You can go, but we may be in touch later." He looks at the paper again, then her, then the paper again. He hands it off to another officer to file.

She sees how the Officer looks at her. She knows that he doesn't believe what she has put down on her written statement. She doesn't argue with him. Matilda just politely says "Well I'll be on my way" before heading to her car to try get home as fast as she can.

At the sight of the police Caleb would make himself scarce,
'Arthur cover for me, you know what the coppers are like when I'm involved!' he whispers,
'I'll owe you a pint later when I can move me arm!' his usual grin wasn't on his face.
'I think you and me need to have a chat about what just happened!'
