Ambrose watched her get closer and he nodded at her urging. He is quiet for another moment or two as he thinks of where to start. "A big difference between Wizards and Changelings? Between you and me? You were born to wield magic. Born with your powers as a part of you. It's natural for you the way the sky is blue." He bites his bottom lip a moment and then continues.
"But me? I was born normal human. A muggle. I was born to muggle parents and lived a normal muggle life. But it all changed one day. The day I was taken." He almost seems to lean into her a bit but does it unconciously as his memories come back...the bits and pieces he can remember. "I was six years old. I don't remember my parents or what year I was born. But I somehow know the month and day and how old I was when it happened. But...time...its weird when..." He stops and sighs. "I'm getting ahead of myself. Sorry. I was six...i was taken but something called a True Fae. There are stories about fairies who come to the world and kidnap children, leaving behind a copy made of random objects and magicked to look and act like the child. I was taken by my Keeper and brought to the Fae lands...Arcadia." A small shiver runs through him when he says that last word.
"What happened there...I don't fully remember everything. Most changeling don't. We call it our durance. But sometimes, memories slip through cracks and we get flashes. I've gotten a few over the years since my escape. I know that it was...torturous to say the least. For me it was a stripping of my original emotions. I might seem kind of normal now, but that's because I took the time to relearn those emotions over the years. But I know that emotionally numb for a long time. Mentally...I was a slave and physically?" He shakes his head. "I don't know it all. I don't know if I ever want to know it all." He lets out a long slow breath.
"Every changeling goes through something over there. But we start off as basic muggles. What changes us is the magic of the lands. It seeps in and becomes part of us...making up part fae. Best way some have described it is that we are half fae and half human. Because of it...we are called Lost. We don't have a true place that we belong to. In Arcadia we are used and abused but we are not True Fae. On this side, we are not full human, so we don't we really belong here either. There is an area in between called the Hedge...but it's a place of danger. Not just physical...but also psychological. And that's just if you're lucky." He falls quiet and sighs.
"I think I just ranted all over you, didn't I?" he asks quietly.

Morgana listened to him talk about what had happened. Her eyes on him, reading his expressions and feeling him slightly lean into her. She braced and allowed him to do so. He was warm in the night chill. She tried to imagine going through what he went through and wasnt able to do so. It all seemed beyond the scope of her understanding. Taken away, replaced, used like a slave and abused. At his question she leaned in a bit closer and her eyes met his.
"It is perfectly alright. You are right, I cannot relate to all of that, because I haven't, but I can tell that it has been a living hell for you." She said, her voice near a whisper. She shifted and rested her chin on his shoulder, her gaze looking up at him. "They won't come for you, will they. These True Fae? How do I whoop them? Also, why do they take you of only to do this to you? Of course, to me, it doesn't make much sense, but I am curious." Morgana asked, curious as to just how much he would have to hide.
She pulled her knees to her chest and made herself smaller, her large black sweater nearly engulfing her. She was like her ferret, trying to curl up and reassure somebody without being too dramatic about it. Morgana continued to lean on Ambrose, lifting her head so her chin hovered slightly off of it. "Is there anything I can do to help?" She asked, wondering who would try to hurt such an amazing being.

"Come for me? There's always the possibility. But we've learned how to avoid them and their agents for the most part. Plus...I think it's a bit harder for them to get into this area without trying to break through Wizard defenses...and there are a lot of defenses in this place. Fae magic and Wizard magic are very different. I actually feel safer here then anywhere else I've been." Her chin sits on his shoulder and he looks over at her with a smile. "Whooping them is...difficult. But somehow I think you would manage to find a way..." He chuckles and then sits back. "They take us...basically because they can. I wish there was more I could tell you. They need something or someone for something so they take one of us and mold us into what they need...because they can." He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, letting it out slow. "It doesn't make much sense to anyone...except them. But it's something we live with."
Ambrose opens his eyes and looks over at her again when she asks her question, the storms in his eyes whirling a bit more. He isn't sure what to say for a moment as he looks into her eyes, turning to her slightly as the moon illuminates her slightly. A blush darkens his cheeks a bit as his heart beats a little faster. When he does speak, it comes out softly between them. "I guess...just...keep my secret safe. I feel I can trust you. I want to trust you..."

Morgana sat up and nodded. "I can do that." She said, looking out over the lake. After a moment's thought, Morgana reached under her sweater and produced her wand. She whispered the spell she used when she wanted to brighten things up for her and gently moved the wand back and forth in a figure eight motion.
The green light glowed and then swirled with purple and blue, melding and swirling as it rose upwards and burst, leaving a glimmering array of firefly like lights amongst the branches of the willow above them and the long narrow branches hanging down. Morgana smiled and looked at Ambrose. "I don't think you have anything to worry about." She said, resting her weight as she propped herself up on ome hand
"It is more than spells for function. Sometimes you just have to do something for yourself and believe it will work on your favor. I blew up many things trying to perfect this one. The trick is whispering in just....the right way." She said, her voice lowering as she kept her gaze on Ambrose.

Ambrose watched the light burst and rise above them, smiling at how beautiful they were as they settled among the branches of the Willow. When Morgana turns to look at him, he smiles over at her, storms in her eyes whirling. Eyes locking, he leans in a bit and his own voice lowers. "In just the right way...hmm..." He reaches up with his hand slowly and cups her cheek as he leans in, moving to lay a soft kiss on her lips.

Morgana smiled and watched Ambrose as his hand was on her cheek and before she could react, his lips touched hers softly. She leaned into the kiss slightly, not adding to much pressure, but enough to let him know she wasn't opposed to it. Her eyes closed as the color from the lights swirled around them, sitting amongst the roots of the Willow.
Pulling back after a moment, Morgana opened her eyes, her gaze darting across his face back and forth. She wondered a lot of things at the moment. Always second guessing, Morgana. Never fails.

A flood of relief fell through Ambrose as she responded to the kiss. When she pulled back, he smiled and bit his lower lip slightly before looking up. He watched her eyes move back and forth before finally he stroked her cheek gently with his thumb. "Morgana..." he said softly in the space between them. "You're thinking very hard about something. Would you tell me?"

Morgana smirked. "I just wanted to make sure that was from good intentions, not to test something in yourself." She said, pushing a stray lock of dark hair from his brow. "Because even after all you told me, you are still half human." She said, the small flecks of light falling nike snowflakes.
Somewhere in the distance a frog croaked out, but Morgana barely heard it.

Ambrose could not help but laugh quietly. "This...this is true. I am not entirely sure what you would view as good intentions...but..." He catches her eyes with his own and his smile softens. "I would say that it was from me wanting to share something intimate like that with you...and the moment just seemed right..."

Morgana grinned in agreement. "Your sense of timing is impeccable, Ambrose." She said softly, sitting up and leaning back against the tree. "I never would have guessed you as the type to be so willing to get to know someone like me. Usually they go running and screaming. But, that makes it even more tempting for me."
She laughed lightly and leaned her head back against the tree, her face turned to him as she watched him in the glow. "This is going to be an interesting term. Perhaps it is best we are on opposite levels of the castle. I'd hate to have this run its course and burn out too fast.
Morgana sighed, and gently flicking her wand as the lights went out in the branches like a dimming light.

Ambrose leaned back as well and watched as the lights went out. He thought about what she said and laughed. "I mean...I COULD run, if you really want me to..." He smirked and looked over at her. "Is that what you want, Morgana?" he asked softly, storms in his eyes whirling fast. He knew what he wanted. He was happy in this moment, talking and enjoying her company. His mind was replaying the kiss which made his heart beat a bit faster.

"Challenge accepted." Morgana said, her eyes narrowing, daring him to do so. She still knew the grounds like the back of her pale hand. She didn't know what Ambrose was capable of, but she would be sure to show him what she could do.
"A little jog around the grounds?" Do your best. "Tag, I'm it." Morgana grinned, twirling her wand in her fingers.

Ambrose chuckles and nods. "Alright. But first..." He stood up and held a hand out for her. "We have to get out from under her together." He smiles at Morgana. He hadn't expected their simple conversation to turn into all of this...but he was glad that it was progressing. After all, to Lost? Time was precious. They had already lost a good deal of it.
Once she takes his hand, he leads her out from under the canopy and outside of the Willow's range of motion. "There we go..." He turned to her. "So...around the grounds huh? Ok...catch me if you can..." With that, he leaned in fast, kissed her quick and then took off, laughing as he went. He was hoping the kiss would stun her for a moment and give him a head start. After all, she had her wand and he hadn't activated any magic yet...

Morgana took Ambrose by the hand, her grip firm and welcoming. She followed him outside of the Willow's range and was taken by surprise as he kissed her, her mind temporarily wiped blank. She gripped her wand and when she came about, he was already dashing away. "NO FAIR!" She yelled, taking off after him, her wand in hand and her legs carrying her after Ambrose. She didn't have enough time to slow down or breath to cast a spell, let alone move it to do so.
She laughed and pursued him. Morgana was losing ground, but kept after as best she could.

Ambrose ran and laughed, the hood flapping in the wind as he ran as fast as he could. Well...to be fair? He wasn't very fast. Ambrose looked back to see her following after she shook off the stun from the kiss. He laughed and turned...just in time to trip over a rock and go sprawling down the hill. After a few seconds he would come to a stop at the bottom, laying there in a heap.

Morgana followed just close enough to see Ambrose topple and fall down the hill. She sped up and half slid/ran down the hill towards him. In her haste, she ended up tripping from the forward motion and landing smack dab on top of him with a grunt. Wand still in hand she could have sworn she saw birds around her head. "I ee we are both graceful. So much for being your savior. Are you alright?" She asked, propping herself up and taking some of her weight off him. That was a pretty bad tumble he took.

Ambrose had hit the bottom on his back and luckily, had only suffered some minor bumps, maybe a bruise, he wasn't sure. What he did know was that the next second or so, Morgana landed on top of him. He grunted himself as she did, losing some of the air in his lungs, hands reaching up and holding onto her instinctively to make sure she didn't fall farther. A few deep breaths and he let the last one out slowly. "I think so..." He looked up into her eyes and of course, once more, the moon illuminated her as he did and he was suddenly very aware of his hands on either side of her. "How about you? Nothing broken I hope?"

Morgana looked down at him and locked eyes with a racing heart and out of breath. Dirt smeared on her pale skin across her cheek. Leaves and grass in her hair. Aware of where their hands a bodies were and she blushed, making an effort to give him some room. "Yeah, pretty sure?" She squeaked, trying to make a joke. She was out of breath and for a moment she couldn't answer his question. Morgana realized he was breathing and not crushed from the impact. Her hat had slipped down to cover her eyes halfway, giving her a strange, disheveled look. She leaned down and kissed Ambrose, the force a little more this time than when he had initiated it under the willow. She pulled back and grinned.
"Tag, you're it" She sprang to her feet a bit wobbly and took off down the hill side, her knee a little sore but she was off, leaving him lay there, her laughs echoing as she put ground between them.

Now it was Ambrose's turn to be slightly stunned. He hadn't expected the kiss after what just happened. One moment he was thinking that she looked kinda cute with the dirt on her cheek, the next she had kissed him soundly, and behind that she was off. Getting up, he felt where he ached but he was alright and soon took off after her. A random thought crossed his mind of how ridiculous they might look if someone looked out of the window and saw them. He chased down the path after her with a laugh, the night air wrapping around them.

Morgana stopped suddenly and listened. She could hear Ambrose running across the ground, gaining on her. Looking ahead she started to sprint again, the night air feeling amazing in her lungs and flapping her leaf littered hair as she did so. She felt like a student again, nothing to worry about except classes and dementors. She smirked and backed behind a large boulder and waited for him to approach. She put a hand over her mouth and stifled a giggle, crouching down low.

Ambrose was trying to catch up but let's face it...he was not made to run after people like this. His heart beat fast and thumped against his chest and he was breathing hard as he looked up and...
He stopped and looked around. Morgana wasn't anywhere in sight. The path went past a large boulder...but he couldn't see too far with the night around him. Did she run that far ahead? He chuckles as he catches some of his breath. "Good job Ambrose..." he said out loud. "The beautiful woman says chase me...and you let her get away..." He laughs at himself and starts to job past the boulder.

Morgana heard him pause and talk to himself. She felt her cheeks get warm at his words, but didn't let it distract her from her original plan. She waited until she heard his footsteps again and she pounced, grabbed him by the shirt sleeves and yanked him back behind the boulder and between the bushes, tumbling backwards into the soft grass. "GOTCHA!" She said, throwing her arms around his neck and wrestling him to the ground.
"The hunter becomes the hunted. I win, game over." She nearly cackled. "I always win." She said, narrowing her eyes and then going quiet. She hadn't had this much fun in years. In fact, she had to assume this was fun since she had nearly forgotten what fun was outside bars and pubs. "You sound out of breath." She said, setting her wand down next to Ambrose on the ground, laying on her side as she watched him in the moonlight. "You better catch your breath before you pass out." She giggled, resting her head on her bicep, one hand still clutching his hoodie sleeve. There was something about him that just made her feel ok. Like someone was actually around for more than revenge or something they wanted from her to benefit only them.

Ambrose was brought down to the ground with a surprised look on his face as Morgana pounced him and toppled him. Within a moment they were laying next to each other, her on her side looking at him and he on his back looking up. He was breathing a little hard but catching his breath and he felt his heart slowly try to calm itself. "Yea..." he says between breathes. "You win." He looks over at her, aware that one hand was still holding onto the sleeve of his hoodie. His eyes catch hers and she can see the storms in them whirling as he smiles slowly. "Have I had a chance to tell you that you have very beautiful eyes?" he said softly as color reached his cheeks once more in a slight blush.
Ah...so that's why his heart didn't want to calm down...

Morgana smiled and felt her cheeks get warm. "Thank you." She said, her voice low. She adjusted her hand to let go of his hoodie and shifted, laying her head on his chest, looking out over the lake and the starlit night, listening to his heart beating quickly and his breath calming slowly.
"Easy there, I don't want you to have a heart attack on me, I finally found a good one." She said, smiling and closing her eyes. The dew had settled and the chill of fall approaching made that smell she loved so much come to life.

Morgana's head moved to his chest and he blinked, not expecting it. After a moment, his arm came around behind her to hug her lightly to him. He could feel his body trying to relax and he couldn't help but smile at her words. He wasn't sure what to say at first so instead, he kept looking up at the stars. A moment later, his hand around her came up and stroked her hair gently.
"Me too..." he said softly.

Morgana kept still, not wantinf to leave, not wanting to go back and be away from him. How long would they have if the Fae came for him? She closed her eyes and inhaled, the touch of his hand on her hair settling her thoughts almost immediately.
"Do you need to get back home?" She asked quietly, watching the lake reflect the stars and the moonlight as she opened them again. She feared the answer, but she could be selfish when it came to time and keeping people around when she liked them.

Ambrose was enjoying this peacefulness. What was it about her that made it easy to open up? He hadn't even told Aisha too much about his fae side. To Morgana? He told her a good deal. He had only ever gotten this close to one other person. But she was...
Her question shook from his thoughts. "No...I can go back whenever," he answered her quietly. "I usually sleep under the tree or in it, in all honesty. The only time I don't is when it's raining. Then I sleep in a different place I've made my own..." He reached over with his free hand and gently took her arm, pulling on it softly until she gave him her hand. He then pulled it around him so that she was hugging him as his arm encircled hers. "Unless you need to leave...?"

Morgana didn't resist as he took her arm and held her closer. "You shouldn't have to sleep in or under a tree." She said, wondering what magic was about that made her so vulnerable and ok with it. Or maybe there wasn't any magic. Either way, she felt safe and carefree here.
"No, I don't have to go. Nor do I want to." She said, smiling against his chest. Turning her face up towards him, she kissed his jawline and neck gently, her heart racing. She nuzzled her face into his neck, her breath warm against his skin.

Ambrose shivered slightly as she nuzzled into him, eyes closing as his breath catches slightly. Whatever doubts or worry he had about why it was this easy to get close to someone seemed to melt away. Biting his lower lip, he felt his body react and scoot a little closer towards her.
"I like sleeping in the tree..." He takes a breath, trying not to moan slightly. "We have a nice connection. But I have an inside place if and when I ever need a bed." His arms held her closer to him, glad that she didn't want to leave just yet as his heart beat a bit faster again.

Morgana felt his reaction to her and smiled into his neck. She moved slightly away and put her mouth near his ear, her breath warm as she spoke. "Is it better than laying on the cold, damp ground?" She asked, her arms wrapping tighter around him as she spoke. Her body was warmer as her pulse pounded.
Morgana suddenly stopped herself. What was she doing? He just opened up to her and now she was acting like a predator after a wounded animal. She slowly returned to nuzzling his neck, a sigh escaping her as she closed her eyes, her breath slowing as she relaxed and reveled in his scent and warmth.
She wouldn't push it, let him make the decisions. She would feel it out as she went along, hoping that he didn't find her to impulsive and fast.
