[MAJOR Edit: Fixed a continuity issue related to Quinn's Hogwarts tenure]
As a new teacher, Quinn would be looking for the students who might be conducive to her teaching methods, those who might be willing to take her science classes and join her weird new clubs come September! She's offering free tutoring all summer, so anyone who wants some academic help or has an interest in muggle science/advanced maths is welcome to contact her! Anyone with muggle-friendly parents? My concept includes people like the Granger-Weasley kids and such taking the classes (since their parents are all a bit busy with their work and can't give enough time to muggle/magical fusion teaching).
So, if there are any students who consider themselves overachieving academics who would really rather continue learning throughout the summer, never fear! Professor McGriffin agrees with you, and will have tutoring and mock combat and all sorts of fun stuff at her manor in Belfast all the way up until September. After all, she never stopped learning just because it was summer. She even extends these opportunities to select prospective students who haven't arrived to be sorted yet, as a sort of headstart, so our off-campus students might have an opportunity to meet each other before the train on the 1st of September (only after correspondence between Quinn, the Headmistress and their parents/guardians, of course).

Hard to have been astronomy professor ten years, we hand one up until a few months ago and they transferred to The US school.
Perhaps you can revise that part of your background? Maybe she taught at the college before, and came to replace the old professor who left?

As per our private conversation, absolutely! I was banking on the revival being rather new, and I didn't see any astronomy professor among those currently listed. My bad!
My idea for the continuity save is to have her mostly spend those previous ten years on her own projects, which is simple enough. However, as a rather wealthy (and thus influential) member of magical Britain's pro-muggle/pro-muggleborn crowd, I had an additional idea for something that would jive with future Hogwarts employment:
Free tutoring! You have to think some parents would want their kids to have a headstart, right? And those N.E.W.T. students might need some assistance with the more esoteric elements they're going to be tested on. With her unique background, she could especially cater to muggleborn parents (Hermione, for one?) who wanted their kids to have comprehensive mundane and magical education, but are too busy with their careers to teach the muggle parts themselves.
So, a tutor of top-level magical theory, and a muggle/magical fusion teacher over the summers for people with those particular (somewhat popular post-war) politics. That way, she's already known to at least some of the students, parents and to Headmistress McGonagall, but she doesn't conflict with Winterbotham or any of the other actual professors. Fair?
This will also push back the founding of her clubs and her defiant "teaching science at Hogwarts" classes to September, as here at the end of the 16/17 term she would simply be finishing Winterbotham's lessons and making sure her newly acquired students are ready to pass their Astronomy O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s.

Sounds like an excellent plan! :)
And a great way to encourage student/teacher RP for over the summer!

You discovered my ulterior motive! She might call up Mary and ask for some help with mock combats and other projects over the summer, as well. And, she'd always be happy to help out with any sort of vampiric problems her dear auntie might be having. Well-prepared mages are pretty good at fighting vamps, you know. I gather, by the way, that due to the nature of the reviving-the-board beast, this is the first year at Hogwarts for most of the current professors? You mentioned that it was Prof. Kestrel's first year in our private conversation.

Some of the very early uptakers may have been around longer, not sure,
And Mary would be quite happy to play around over summer ... after dusk, of course :)

Hehe, of course. By the way, has there been a determination on the effect of the Killing Curse on non-HP supernaturals? I'm sure it wouldn't work on some of the CoC monsters, and also maybe not Vamps because they don't have souls/aren't actually alive to be killed (just like it doesn't work on Dementors or Inferi).
But Garou? Changelings? Probably yes?

Not that I know of. The game is predominantly PvE, so PVP effects haven't really been discussed yet.

Well, I wouldn't consider this a PvP/PvE issue, it's an element of the shared world. You could have ST-controlled werewolves and vamps attack mages, after all...
I'll start up a thread to ask Peeves about using magic on supernaturals, see what Helena thinks.
