Mattie really didn't like the dungeons and she wasn't sure the Potions Professor like her either but with Thulile out of reach she wanted to know if she could possibly recreate some of the magical paints that Thulile had made for her.
With a small bag and all her magical paints and a few brushes and blank papers inside, she left the Hufflepuff common room early in the morning. It wasn't a long walk but it was a lonely one. Morticia wasn't coming with her.
Once she made it down the stairs she opened the classroom door and stepped in calling out. "Professor?"

Morgana was at a tall desk, scribbling in a book. Some of it was written in, the rest was not. Beside her she had multiple ingredients and vials. Holding each one up,s he would examine and then write it down. At the familiar voice, Morgana kept writing, her eyes never leaving her work. "Enter. Can I help you Ms. Adamson?" She asked, never missing a stroke. She was close, so close. Finally finishing up her writing, Morgana looked up to the doorway, her hazel eyes locking in on Matilda.
"What brings you all the way down here today?" She asked, her face neutral, never giving away her true emotions about the other night with Ambrose. She was actually quite a bit happier. But the girl didn't need to know that. She folded her hands and rested them on the book she had been writing on, quill back in the ink pot.

She stepped a bit further into the class room holding her bag close. "I was wondering if you could help me with some paints" she said softly. Watching as the teacher continued to write out what it was she was doing.
She placed her bag on a table and waited quietly. When the Professor looked up she felt a twinge of nervousness. "Um I am not interrupting you am I?" she asked.

Morgana looked at the girl as she entered the classroom rather mouse-like. "chin up child, I am not going to cook you into a stew." She eyed the book and smirked. "No, just a potion I am researching. A local witch has a problem with her Dragon and a bit of.....a cold. It's a rather large dose, or a very potent potion, without extinguishing its fire breathing abilities. It sneezed and burned her house down. And about 200 acres of woodland." She smirked. At Mattie's request she furrowed her brow.
"What kind of paints?" She asked, not moving but gesturing at the large work table and a chair for Mattie to sit in. "I am not familiar with paints, but I can do my best." She said, ideas already running through her mind.

Mattie went wide eye. "An actual real live dragon? And it can do that?! That's cool!" she seemed to perk up at the thought of meeting a dragon some day.
"Well it is what is in the paint. Some kind of magical property to make the paint itself kind of seem alive though not really." she opens her bag and pulls her things out. She placed them on the desk. "You can't really tell until you paint it though." she added.
She opened two jars of paint and picked up a paint brush. The colors were both black but one had the magical property and the other didn't. She painted a line of each on a blank parchment and then waited on the Professor to come and look.

Morgana gave what passed for a laugh. "Yes, he is quite old and things just...happen." She said sighing and standing opposite Matilda across the table. Listening and watching as she produced the paints, canvas and brushes, she was curious. The paints were both black. "I see..." She said, already coming up with ideas and formulas."
Leaning over to see the canvas, Morgana eyed the paint that the girl had paid down with the paintbrush. "So does this paint make what the subject is come alive, or does it just...waver?" She asked, waiting to see just what the paint was going to do.

"It just sort of gives the illusion it isn't like the talking portraits around the castle that actually come to life." she said looking up.
She pulled out several more paints with the magical property in them. "I have a bunch of them and tbey all give the same effect but I'm almost out as you can see and my art Mentor disappeared. Dad....um.." she blushed for a moment forgetting his name here. "Professor Adamson isn't sure what is in them either. So I didn't know if you could help me figure it out and maybe recreate them so I can keep painting." she looked up at Professor LeFeye with almost pleading eyes.
Art was a passion of her's and these new paints made her artwork so much more better. She didn't want to have to give them up.

Morgana listened to the desperation in the girl's voice and saw the want in her eyes. Thinking for a moment she sighed and walked to the apothecary cabinets, standing with her arms crossed, one finger tapping her chin. After what seemed like forever, she started to take down vials and jars, small wooden boxes and leather bags, setting them on the table.
"Normally I wouldn't do this unless it was an emergency...." Morgana huffed a bit,"..but this appears to be one. Let's see what we can do and make it a bit of a fun lesson. Who was your mentor?" She asked, popping off corks and kicking the giant bullfrog to start bellowing the fire under her cauldrons.
"Anyway, I think we can do one better than wavy paints." She grinned, booting the giant frog once more. "Blasted thing is wearing out already." She tossed it a ball of fly larvae from one of the jars above the fireplace and looked back to Mattie.

Mattie watched as Professor LeFaye walked to a cabinet and stood their looking in it for a long long time. At least it felt like forever. Mattie didn't mobe as she waited and hoped the Professor could help her.
"Ms. Masters. Thulile Masters. She also does tattoo's with her magic paint if that helps." she winced a little as the frog was kicked awake. She didn't like that but she really wanted help.
Did she want help at the pain of another? She stared at the giant frog as the Professor fed it and then it brought fire to the cauldron.
"Okay." she said smiling. "I will do what I can to help!" she said suddenly very enthusiastically.

Morgana noticed the girl's reaction. "Don't worry, it looks mean but if you don't, they will die. This frog has a particular system that requires a kick start. Literally. I brought him from Louisiana with me." She said, smirking. After a while, Morgana looked into the cauldron and pointed to a vial of deep dark liquid. "My dear, if you will." She said as she poured water steeped with what looked like lemon juice from a kettle. "Hemlock sap. It will cook down, no worries."
She watched the steam rolling and nodded. "Perfect. Now, just a bit of that zombie blood." She said, holding her hand out to Mattie for a bit. "I'm just kidding, he wasn't a zombie." She grinned. "Ok, ogre blood." She said, wiggling her fingers for the vial to be handed to her.

Mattie listened as Professor LeFaye explained about the frog and she was glad there was an explanation. She watched with curiosity as the Professor look in the boiling water. When she pointed to a vial Mattie picked it up and brought it to her.
She listened as she explained what it was. She made note mentally in case she needed to remember this. "Zom.." she was cut off as Professor LeFaye held her hand up. Mattie laughed shaking her head. Being so new to this world she was pretty much gullible enough to have believed the Potion's teacher.
She handed the vial to her and peaked over the side of the cauldron looking to see what was happening.

Morgana let Mattie look in the cauldron, holding a hand up so the poor girl didn't get her face flash burned off. "Easy. It is volatile yet." She said grabbing what looked like giant fish scales and dropped two in, the mixture began to spiral and become a bright violet. It swirled and bubbled. "Wyvern scales." She said, nodding in approval. The mixture began to thicken. She held up a vial of lavender flowers and added them.
"I am making a base. One drop in your paint pots and ANY color or medium will hopefully so as you will. There is just one more thing." She said, looking over at the girl. Deftly and swiftly, she plucked three hairs off the girl's head and tossed them in. "Don't tell your father." She said casually, stirring the potion until it shimmered and became transparent omce more, showing no signs of the deep purple it once was.
Dipping a bit out, she returned to the table and opening a container of red, Morgana dropped one drop into the jar, closing it, tipping it back and forth a few times. "Now, paint me a dragon." She said, handing Mattie her paint brush and a piece of parchment.

Mattie stepped back and watched as her Professor worked on the potion. She mentioned the different ingredients aa she dropped them in and Mattie watched as the liquid changed color.
She rubbed her head as Professor LeFaye pulled hair from her and tossed it into the cauldron. When it changed to a clear liquad shr made an "oooo" sound. She was quite intrigued at this point.
She followed the professor as she took a jar of the liquid back to the table and droped a single drop into her red paint. She watched as Professor LeFaye gently shook and rolled the paint mixing it.
She wondered what was happening. Would it pick out the special ingredient use in the paint to make it seemingly move? She wondered.
When the Professor handed Mattie a paint brush and asked her to paint a dragon she nodded her head. "A simple one? Or detailed? Because detail woulf need more then just red and I don't have the rest of my tools to help with sculpting the paint for the scales. I like to add etches and other minor detail that can make a major difference in the art itself." she said looking up. Question's that she needed answered before she could paint. She had to have an image in mind and she did but she didn't know how elaborate her Professor wanted it.

Morgana looked at her. Wow, this one was spunky alright. She smirked. "Just a simple one." She said, watching and waiting. "When you are done, imagine it animated." She said, her eyes glinting with anticipation.
"I will explain the hair in a moment." She said urging Mattie by bumping the parchment closer.

Mattie painted a simplr dragon onto the paper. It wasn't as detailed as she would of liked and it looked like a seven year old drew it. She made a face but finished it and stepped back.
"Okay." she said as she tried to imagine it flying.

Morgana watched as the girl finished and then stepped back. It took a moment but soon the dragon began flapping its wings and took flight over the parchment, even at one point standing up from the paper and became a 2D image. Morgana nodded.
Morgana took another brush and dipped it in the paint, creating one similar and stepped back, focusing on it. The dragon sat there on the parchment, motionless. Morgana was satisfied. She bottled up the rest of the potion and set it on the table.
"It will only work for you. Hence the hair. Without the hair, it would be far too dangerous to use, due to it not knowing the artist and too many thoughts creating it. To stop it, simply ignore it." She said, smirking. "Is this to your liking?"

Mattie looked wide eye and was shocked about it all. She squealed with glea. "Okay okay yes yes for sure. But if I don't think about it they don't move. Will the paint still give off the previous look of the shimmer like movement without me? And if so how can we recreate that as well because I really am almost out of paint."
She holds up the red but it has much more then her greens and blues and black. "Because if I run out of it and can't remake it, it is just regular paint unless I'm always focusing on it." she said brightly thinking about it all but obviously over joyed.
