The underground ride was pretty much uneventful. Then, they used their entry through the Leaky Cauldron to reach Knockturn Alley. Rose quietly lead the way to the bookstore. The shop’s sign reads: 'As Black as Ink' and then, right under it, in a smaller font: " Where knowledge on all forms of magic lies, and all kind of thirsts can be sated". It is adorned with the picture of a magpie's head. If one looks closely, the symbol of the Tremere can be traced around the head with the magpie's beak being the 'arrow' of the Tremere symbol. Rose pushed the front door with the confidence of the owner stepping into her business. "Here we are." She held the door for Victoire. "Please do come in." ---------- (Continuation from this thread.) @victorie @nikolaus

Home sweet home. She would be the second Hogwarts student to visit their store this summer, and by no mere coincidence, both had been Ravenclaw. Although they were allowed to go there, most students avoided Knockturn Alley like the plague; its reputation was well-earned, and even most adult wizards who weren't there for a specific reason kept their wands close when wandering through its dark alleys, no pun intended. But anyone who would have looked twice at the two Tremere knew better. Nikolaus and Rose had long since established themselves in this part of town as people not to be trifled with. So long as Victoire was with them, nobody with any sort of nefarious intention would so much as look in her general direction.
Compared to the rest of Knockturn Alley, As Black As Ink was quite comfortable, classy even. Rows of bookshelves that, despite the obvious age of some of the books, didn't have a speck of dust in sight. Leather furniture could be found around a polished oak table, and the floors were immaculately cleaned. And in the back, behind the checkout counter, was a door that only read 'Employees Only.'
Nikolaus followed the two women inside the store, closing the door behind himself. He would have held the door open for the two ladies, but this time Rose beat him to it this time. She must have been excited to show victoire her book shop. "Can I get you anything?" he'd ask Victoire. "Coffee? Tea?"
He and Rose may not drink it (regrettably; coffee was one of the few things Nikolaus genuinely missed from his days as kine), but the twins did, and they've been known to offer drinks to special customers or guests. Victoire, obvously, being one of them.

From outside Vic liked the shop maybe no so much the location but she got the impression that she was going to be alright with the two of them. So hopefully she could find something here that would work for her uncle. She followed Rose and looked around. They had been right, they had books and in her opinion, it was a little more organized than Flourish and Blotts which could get dusty sometimes. Looking at the books, a thought crossed her mind but she wasn't here for herself. She was here for a present for her Uncle. But that didn't stop her from going to look at a few book titles.
When she heard Nikolaus ask his question, she turned away from the shelf she was looking at, giving him a smile. "Coffee would be nice, thank you."
She turned back to look at a few more books on the shelf before finally asking the question that had been on her mind, "You wouldn't happen to have any books on the Fae would you? It was one of my challenges set by a professor of mine."

Rose let Victoire wander a bit in the shop. She'd been a shopkeeper for quite a while now and thus, she could tell whenever a customer was looking for books for themselves or if they were looking for a gift. Although, Victoire had told them she was looking for presents for two of her relatives, right then it was clear to the Tremere that the young witch was looking for a book for herself. Her request only confirmed that. "Fae?" Rose pondered this a bit. "What about ' Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' by Newt Scamander? Or do you think your teacher would find that too easy an answer?" After all, the Tremere knew Albus Dumblebore himself had written the preface of the book. "If so, I can suggest this one instead." She walked to one of the shelves with the practice ease of the person who owns the place. "Here." She handed out to Victoire a book which title simply read ' Faeries'. The book was dated 1978, an original edition without a doubt, but still looked brand new, the elegant hard cover and beautiful illustrations adding to the value of the tome.

Victoire didn't quite have the 'kid in a candy shop' look that Jillian or Aisha had. More like, 'girl on a mission,' but Nikolaus had a job of his own to do. Electricity was hard to come by in Knockturn Alley, but what little they had was put to good use. And it just so happened that an espresso machine was one of them. Nikolaus began making a small, single cup, occasionally glancing back at Rose and Victoire as the two began discussing books.
Rose had told him about 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.' Nikolaus had even read that one himself; it was considered a 'must-read' in the Wizarding World, and thus it was one of the first he'd read upon arriving in the Chantry. Rose didn't have to try very hard to convince him to do so, either.
When the coffee was done, Nikolaus put the cup on a small, white plate, and carefully brought it over to a table near Rose and Victoire. He could walk without his cane, but it wasn't easy, especially not while carrying a hot cup of still-steaming coffee. "It's ready," he said simply.

Victoire gave her a nod, "I have read it multiple times actually, we used it as a textbook in Care of Magical Creatures. Plus, bookworm myself." So that should have been enough of an explanation on the book. Though she hadn't thought about reading it again about the subject of Faeries. She took the other book from Rose and looked it over. It definitely had more information in it than her teachers could give. And she was still within the rules Professor Oakwood had given her. This hadn't been her first mission but it was something that would help her out. And she was sure her Aunt would want to borrow to maybe. So it worked.
She turned her attention to Nikolaus as he brought the cup over to the table, she placed the book gently on the table and well away from the cup. Liquids and paper did not mix and she didn't like to see a book ruined in any way. She didn't understand the reasoning behind burning books or banning them. She even didn't like that the restricted section was restricted. In her mind, there shouldn't be rules concerning knowledge. She took a slow sip so she would be less likely to burn her mouth. "It's really good, thank you." Once she placed the cup back on the cup.
Now she had herself taken care of it was back on track with finding Harry something for his birthday, "So how did you end up running a book shop. Besides being a book worm yourself?" She asked Rose. She knew a book lover when she saw one.
