Victoire laughed a little, "Because it will be normal, well as normal as it can be with my family." Large families were fun but to the outsider, they could be over whelming. But having a friend around would make it more interesting.
"Nope, the cottage is on the outskirts of Tinworth, in Cornwall. My grandparents, where we usually all end up anyway live in Ottery St. Catchpole in Devon. Usually, go by floo never tried the Muggle transportation, might have to try it see how long it takes. could be an interesting journey." She had honestly never thought about going the Muggle way before, so next time she might give it a go. "Well, you would definitely be seeing a different part of the country at either the cottage or at my grandparent's place."
Her dad worked a lot as a curse breaker but it didn't sound like Jillian spent much time with her parents. Granted Vic tried never to see her mother after her parent's divorce. "So maybe they would be up for it make a research thing or something."

Jillian smiled brightly, "Your family sounds wonderful but far from normal, although my family in no better in their own way. It must be great to travel a lot as well." She tried to keep the envy out of her voice. "The floo network makes things easier, thankfully. Do feel free to send me an owl whenever you like, it would be nice to see the country. I just hope I don't end up embarassing myself somehow."
"A research thing sounds interesting, several of your family were head of house weren't they? They must be of great help with studies."

"Think everyone's family is odd in their own way. Just some people can't handle large groups of people." She couldn't handle them sometimes but it was still family. And there wasn't much she wouldn't do for them. "Though try not to go to France to see my mother and her family." She didn't really want anything to do with her mother if she could help it. And so far, there were times she had to go see her and the step father. Nope, if given the choice she would stay with her family here in England. So apart of her was counting down the time till she graduated and could finally actually say no more.
Victoire nodded, "My dad is a curse breaker for Gringotts. But there were two Head Boy's, four prefects and one Quidditch captain. As far as my dad siblings go but then there are Hermione and Harry. So stories aren't in short supply. But they do help some with studies more than my dad, he feels I should learn it myself rather than be given the information." Which she didn't mind because she liked a good challenge. "You could probably get some awesome information just listening."

Sitting there with an almost awed expression Jillian had shifted position on the towel so she was looking entirely at Victoire now. She gave small nods and smiled as various points were made, she agreed with the point that things should be learnt yourself rather than taught to the point where she had a short record of detentions for experimenting with spells the wrong way on purpose in order to see what happened. She had already been given one challenge to find out this summer after all.
"I tend to keep to myself at school, so I'll admit crowds can be difficult. Not impossible though." Most of the reason she had got into the habit of keeping to herself at Hogwarts had been all the bullying she experienced in her first few years anyway. "It all sounds really exciting, I am a little surprised you decided to come to the camp with all that, unless you just really needed some sun and queit time?" Jillian chuckled, a little awkwardly.
"Most exciting thing that ever happens at my home is when one of my parents have some accident at work. My father had horns for over a week when I was still a toddler! Then there was the time a few years back when my mother could only talk in rhyme for awhile. Less exciting but more funny I guess, did mean she spent less time at work though which certainly was fun."

It was around this time that Alicia wandered in from one of the side rooms with wet hair, towelling it off, "I don't know whats in the lake, but it does wonders for the complexion and hair." She gently tosses her towel over a wooden drying rack and hops on to her bed, pulling over a bag to dig through it. She seemed to be a rather pleasant girl, a bit familiar to some if they had crossed her at Hogwarts (she had been in slytherin for less than a year).
"New bunk mate?" She says to the girl she's already met.

Vic chuckled a bit, "It is fun, but when you're always around them. It can get kind of boring came to camp for a change and see what I could learn here." Sure she did miss her family but she wanted to experience something new. And maybe camp could offer her that. And so far she was getting to know a house mate that she hadn't really talked to before so that was a start. And she had talked with Alicia some so things were looking up. She listened about her parent's mishaps, "Yeah, those sound fairly interesting. Would definitely make things interesting around the house."
She looked up when she saw Alicia, "Alicia, Jillian our new bunkmate."

Jillian looked up and a puzzled expression crossed her face. "Alicia? You look familiar.. Weren't you at the school ball?" She thinks for a moment and then nods, "You got an owl, it caused a bit of a stir." She stumbled to her feet and held out her hand. She did not expect the girl to recognise her out of uniform and without her goggles, besides there had been the unfortunate fact of her complexion at the ball. Maybe it was best that she probably wouldn't be remembered.
"Pleasure to meet you, I arrived here late. My parents were pretty busy at work." She smiled.

"All schools were invited to that ball, but at the time I was in Hogwarts. My parents are from Arkham, they were transferred back so I guess I just disappeared." She smiles and starts going through her bags, "I hadn't intended to interrupt you two, I'll mind my own if you like."
She lays down on her bed and rests her hands under her head. "I can leave too if you want."

"Haven't been to the States, wouldn't mind a visit." There was history there as well maybe not as old as what was in this part of the world. But history was history to Victoire. Either way, she didn't want Alicia feeling left out, the three were going to share a bunk for the summer better to be friendly than not. And she had told herself she was going to make new friends this summer.
she shook her head at Alicia, "You don't have to do that, we were just talking crazy families. Boys and the regular girl stuff, you could say. So your more than welcome to join in. Oh and vampires, though that was more of Jillian's subject."

"I only remember you cheering about a letter," Jillian said, shrugging and dropping the subject. "I don't know if I will ever visit America, my family have always been from around London. It it is such a large country I do not have any idea where I would start if I did visit."
She laughed as Victoire mentioned the vampires, feeling a little embarassed about it. "A recent interest, I don't know if you remember Professor Kestrel from your time at Hogwarts? The family and girl chat has been a lot more interesting and fun though." She gave Victoire a bright smile.
