Rough Beginnings...(Matilda, Dristan, Teagan)

Teagan smiled curling into Dristan more. She loved his voice and it was always calming to her. She watched him with Matilda and couldn't help but imagine what he would be like with a child of his own someday. As she listened to his words, she slowly drifted off to sleep, an arm tightly around Matilda and the other holding almost tightly to Dristan.

The morning comes with everyone sleeping peacefully. No nightmares...in fact? No one dreams. The sleep is peaceful...deep. So deep in fact that they sleep all the way until about...7:58AM when there is a sharp knock at the door. Sunlight filters in through the windows and the city...the city is it's normal, everyday self.

Matilda was startled from her sleep by the loud noise of banging, she froze as she kept her eyes closed. She felt movement in her bed and her eyes squinted slightly and she saw that man move out of the bed. Did he sleep with her? As he left Matilda looked around the room and saw Ms. T. It wasn't a dream, she really was here with Ms. T and a man that Ms T told her last night was safe right? She slipped out of the bed and moved towards the bathroom, she had to go really bad. She went in and she saw herself in the mirror. She looked dirty and tired. She needed a shower also but she didn't have clothes. Maybe a shower would help. She would have to ask later if she could borrow something from Ms T. She couldn't think of yesterday. She needed to forget and so today she would pretend it never happened. She would act like Ms. T came back to foster her.

With that thought she left the bathroom and jumped on the bed to wake Ms T. "Ms T, Ms T!! Is it true? Are you going to foster me??!?!" She was loud and excited and though her eyes held the darkness that she saw from the previous day, she again would do anything she could to forget and move on.

Dristan was met with the smiling face of a slightly plus sized red head who was carrying a bag and a backpack and looked all of seventeen.  "Hello!  You must be the Knight!  I heard so much about you!  My name is Pia...I'm looking for...hmm..."  She reached into the bag and pulled out a small piece of paper.  "Says here I am looking for a Teagan.  I think I am two minutes early...is she around?"  This red head is quite possibly almost the complete opposite of the two individuals that Dristan had seen last night.  "Am I too early?" she asks with obvious worry.

Dristan looked at the woman as he fully opened the door and nodded to her. Knight? She must be another fae Dristan thought in his mind. "Hello." Dristan spoke in a relaxed voice. "Yes Teagan is here please come in." Dristan moved out of the way removing his hand from the handle of the knife in his back pocket and covered it again with his shirt.

As Dristan turned he saw Teagan and smiled. "There is someone here to see you." He would wait for Pia to come in and remained quiet right now.

Pia smiled wide, the Pooka seeing the Boggan as she stepped inside. "Hello! You are Teagan! How nice to meet you!" The redhead looked around and blinked before she heard the shower. "Ah...she is in the bath. They sent me with some supplies." She pulled off the backpack and handed it to Teagan. Inside were clothes for a girl close to Matilda's age as well as a hoodie. "So I am here to make a passport for the little one yes? Do you guys need one too? Or any other legal documents?" She moves to sit at the dining room table. "Oh! I'm sorry! I sometimes get ahead of myself..." She laughs as she looks at them, the sound genuine and of one who seems to do this often. "Teagan...I was told to tell you the following. I am from the same House as the Tree Man. He has a letter for you...hmmm..." She reaches into her bag and pulls out a letter that is sealed with wax and holds it out for her. "I am told things would be explained in there. There are also tickets for the three of you to fly across the pond that leaves at 1pm...so I have 5 hours to work." She smiles at them, one that reaches her blue-green eyes.

Dristan shut and locked the door after Pia entered and walked over to where Teagan was and listening to everything that was being talked about. "Teagan and I both have passports but we need one for the little one yes." Dristan looked to Teagan and back to Pia. "I am sorry all of this is very new to me. Are you a fixer, builder, protector, light, darkness or feather?" He asked to Pia. He felt weird asking but he was very curious. Dristan looked back over to Teagan asking about caregiver paperwork.

"yes we need paperwork also stating that we have fostered her......wait I do not even know her name." Dristan looked to Teagan once more. "What is her name falling star?" He asked and then another question came to mind from earlier.

"Yes I can order food." He walked over to the phone and found a f=phone book and just stared. "Ummm.....how do I dial....phone numbers are different in England." He felt embarrassed at the moment not knowing how to use the phone.

Pia looked up and was about to answer Dristan when she heard the scream. They can both see the look of concern cross her face and the torture of her not running and comforting her right at that moment. "Teagan...go...I...just go..." She turns back to her back and pulls out a folder and a pen as well as a digital camera, a small printer and a laptop...from this brown bag that was smaller then carrying everything she just pulled out. She took a deep breath in and let it out. "I'll wait for her to calm down..."

Dristan dropped the phone and ran straight to the bathroom right behind Teagan and stopped when she did looking around and had his hand back on the handle of the knife in his back pocket looking over everything in the bathroom. "Whats wrong?" Dristan kept looking and then looked to Matilda.

"Hey, its okay" She said wrapping her arms around her, as Dristan checked the bathroom. "You are the strongest Champion I know" She said looking at the girl and back to Dristan. She waits for a few moments for Matilda to settle down and looks down at her. "Someone is here to talk with you okay?" She asks looking at her. "To help figure out If you can stay with us for a bit. We can go out whenever you are ready"

Dristan remained silent realizing that Matilda was alright and it was probably a flashback from last night. He smiled at the little one. "Hey now listen I will make sure that you are always safe, I have my ways and tricks." He smiled and winked playfully to Matilda.

"How would you like to go to London, England and stay with us little one?"

Teagan watched her and smiled and rested a hand on her shoulder until she stepped away and over to Dristan. Her eyes danced watching him. She couldn't handle the emotions swelling in her being watching Matilda interact with Dristan and Dristan interact with her. She wasn't trying to get her hopes up about keeping Matilda, but at least for the summer, Teagan would try to show her the best time until either they were able to keep her, or they found suitable mysteries to care for her.

Matilda smiled up to Dristan as he picked her up and he told her his name. She liked the name. "Dristan is a good name I think." She watched as they moved from the bedroom and out into the living room. "Ms. T, I lost your journal." She was sadden by the fact she lost the precious item that was gifted to her. Then she laughed as Dristan rub his nose against her. "Matilda is my name. But I am not a princess. I am a champion. Ask Ms T. Right Ms T?" She smiled and looked back to Ms T again. Then her eyes caught the other woman in the room and she froze. She didn't know this woman and she buried her head into Dristan's neck hiding herself away.

Teagan follows Dristan and Matilda out into the main room. She leans against the counter leading to the Kitchen and watches Pia carefully. She hoped that this was all going to work. She wasnt sure what was all going to happen but right now she wanted to make sure Matilda was going to be okay. She walked into the kitchen starting to make some coffee.
