It was just after the great feast and the sorting ceremony when Lili made her way up to the Ravenclaw Common room. Raven was close at her feet having snuck a good chunk of the tasty food from the table. The Large fluffy thing marched up the stiars to the tall tower and into what he presumed to be his living quarters for the next none months. He flumps onto the bed where Lili's trunk had been delivered.
There were only 2 beds in this living area....Lili wondered who the other belonged to. She wasn't sure why she was chosen for this room. She threw herself back on the bed staring up at the dark blue canopy over the bed. She hoped this student was at least tolerable, not that she didn't get along with most of her house mates either way.
Raven snuffed her hair and she laughed laying there waiting to see exactly who was going to come through that door.....

Jillian had been surprised to learn that she would be sharing a room with only one other girl this year but appreciated that it meant she would likely have more privacy to work on homework. She made her way up from the main hall slowly, thinking who her roommate would be. A few of the girls that used to bully her had continued on to do NEWT level, so she could only hope it wasn't any of those. There was one girl who had never forgiven her for the fire she had started in their first year. The list of people she would prefer not to room with was beginning to seem larger than the ones she would not mind.
When she finally entered the room and saw the huge dog she almost dropped the drink she was carrying, it was the last thing she had expected. Her first thoughts were of her luggage and if it was okay, but then she caught sight of Liliana and breathed a sigh of relief. "I.. Hey there, I didn't recognise your dog. Sorry."

Lili sat up on the bed when the door opened and Raven himself sat up. Thank God....
She was so happy to see it was Jillian who had been moved to room with her this term. With everything going on, it meant less explaining if she disappeared at odd times in the night. She would likely understand. She smiled running a hand through her hair. "Hey, Jillian. Not gonna lie, was really relieved when I saw you walk through the door" Raven woofed and padded over to Jillian sniffing and licking her hand.
"You remember Raven? I think you two met when you came to Mary's Estate the one night..."

"You were?" Jillian was pleasently surprised by that statement. She smiled at Raven as he came over, petting his head and back and laughing a little at the feel of his tongue. He followed her as she wandered toward the unclaimed bed to check all her luggage was there. She placed her drink down and selecting one case in particular, moving it up onto the bed to open and check its contents. She did so one handed for the most part as she was also trying to stop the large dog from nosing at what she was doing.
"I remember seeing him, but don't think I caught his name then. Hello, Raven." she said, giving the dog another pat. She then looked up at Liliana, her expression showing that she wondered if the girl had anything she wanted to say about that night.

"I was. At least it's someone I seem to have some sort of similiar interest with" Oh the phrase had multiple meanings but she kinda laughed it off. Lili pulled herself from the bed to stand and go through her own things. Placing a few pictures up and pulling a blanket and pillow from home. She laughed a bit with Raven's nose trying to find it's way to the case.
"Raven, back off. You've been told you need to behave, or you'll be shipped back to Dristan's estate with Lady and Baron" THe large creature huffed and backed off sitting at Lili's feet. "Are you excited about the school year? I mean, another round of classes and hopefully no crazy professors."

Jillian laughed at the mention of shared interests, she vaguely recalled they had rather different interests when it came to classes so the added meaning was easy for her to catch. "That is a good point, it should make things easy for us both. Don't be surprised if I quiz you though."
"I'm nervous about a number of classes, but excited too." She pulled out a few items; A mens jacket, a muggle spinning device, a silk scarf, some fingerless gloves, her mobile phone and two other pairs of goggles - One of which was carefully wrapped and a lot more decorative than her usual. "Are you referring to McGriffin or Ai- Professor Ria there?"

"It should, and honestly wouldn't mind the quizzing. I may need the help in some of these classes." She puts several more things away and watches the jacket come out and smiles. She had her muggle things as well, though it was interesting to see someone so coveted of an item.
"Yea. I think DADA will be my downfall. Or may Diviniation. Depends on if the professor Oakwood is teaching again. I assume he is. He was at the ceremony." Her mind races to the trainings with him last year and wondered if he would offer them again... She played with the gloves on her hand and bit her lip. She had gotten so accustom to not wearing them while living with Mary...Not having to worry about her ability.
"McGriffin was a nut job..." She said witha laugh. "Kinda glad I wont worry about her classes this term. I'm pretty sure I failed her OWLs last year..."

"I am more than happy to help with what classes I can," Jillian promised. She bit her lip as she hung the jacket near her bed, realising that Liliana would probably recognise it as the one she had worn when she visited Maria's estate. "I'm carrying on with DADA myself, last minute thing. Thankfully Professor Adamson was able to accept me," she explained, having no idea of the connection between her new roommate and the professor. "I don't think I've met Oakwood. I didn't pick Divination as one of my electives in third year, what is he like?"
She packed the other items away with a little less care, all except for the more decorative goggles which she ended up putting around the same hanger as the jacket after some thought. "You might be surprised, she gave me an outstanding grade and I'd been shy all year since I was terrified of the tower." she shrugged but laughed along with Liliana all the same. "She certainly had her quirks."

"Oh. That's awesome about doing DADA. Dri--Professor Adamson is good like that. You'll enjoy his class." She smirked a bit. She wondered if she had known the relation with the two of them. If not, she was sure she would eventually.
"Oakwood is nice. He's odd, young and a little flighty. But I had some one on one lessons with him towards the ends of last term. Did some good I would think. I passed" She shrugs about the other professor. "I love astronomy, but that professor was a little crazy...More so the Trelawny I thought." She smiled "Not to mention her showing up with all these conspiracy theories about my cousins Accident."

Sitting down on her bed and facing Liliana fully Jillian smiled at her potential new friends description of the teachers. "Have to say, Adamson always came off a little intimidating to me. I only got an E in my OWL, so I am worried I'll struggle in his class this year." she looked a little embarassed at that, "I'll guess Oakwood is that young pretty guy I see that the teachers table from time to time? One on one lessons must have been fun." she giggled.
"Sorry to hear your cousin had an accident, what was a professor doing getting involved there?" she furrowed her brow, trying to remember if there had been any notable accidents with any students the previous year.

"Nah. He's not as intimidating....Okay thats a total lie. He CAN be super intimidating. But Once you get passed the bruting side he's actually a good guy. And if he's not, let me know. I'll give him a good smack or make Raven eat his shoes or something" She laughed. "I wouldn't be family if i didn't pick on him"
"I wouldn't exactly call them fun, but they were helpful for the most part so thats what matters." She shifts on the bed. "Something about conspiracy, Why his car wasn't enchanted, someone was out the kill the strong Professor at Hogwarts blah blah blah...."

Jillian blinked a few times before she managed to process what Liliana had said, "Huh?.. Wait, Professor Adamson is your cousin?!" she laughed, "Why are you worried about DADA then?"
She was wide eyed for a moment but frowned as she began to try and fit it all together in her mind. Was that why Maria had taken such a special interest in the girl? Why would the Professor allow that, wouldn't he of all people know all the warnings she herself had recieved almost all summer? It was all more puzzling to her than anything McGriffin could have done and it showed on her face.

"Because my cousin is a lot harder on me then other students. Our....current family situation calls for me to be strong on the DADA front. He may be family. It doesnt mean i get off easy" She smiled through tossing a chocolate frog from her bag to Jillian.
She saw the confusion written on her face as she talked about the former Astronomy teacher. "I'm sure we'll have another professor here in no time to take over the class. If not, well then i guess it means more quiet visits for me in the Astronomy tower unbothered." She grinned almost playfully.

Jillian caught the chocolate frog and smiled her thanks. "High family expectations or because of our shared interests? That is why I signed up for DADA again," She asked and stated, having no idea what else would require Liliana to push herself to study the subject so much.
"As for Astronomy, I think I'll be happy to be rid of the class and never have to visit the tower again." she laughed, "Why in the world do you like going there?"

"Both...Though The shared interest...I dont know if DADA helps exactly with that." She laughed as she opened her own frog. "Not to mention I like the class." She raised a brow at the the dismissed Astronomy and giggled.
"I dont mind the class so long as the professor is knowledgeable and not crazy. As for the tower... You can see everything. I like going up to the High tower and thinking."

Jillian frowned at that, realising just how different she was to the girl who sat with her. It worried her that Liliana had apparently not recieved all the warnings she had about vampires all summer, that was the reason she had signed up to continue DADA and that Liliana would be unsure how the subject wouldn't help when it came to dealing with vampires, who were still considered dark creatures, she was amazed. "How did you end up staying where you did over the summer?" was all she managed to ask.
She totally ignored the comment about the tower, Liliana had been around when half the year had teased Jillian about being exempt from flying lessons during their first year. She might even have realised that she had never once attended a quiddich game.

"I was supposed to stay with my cousin for the summer. To take care of family affairs. But he had a new lady and I didn't want to impose. And going home was hard. My muggle life coming back to haunt me every summer and holiday. Mary offered another place of refuge from them over the summer"
She didn't seem to really catch the oddity of the situation. IT seemed normal for her to be around them, to have no issues with the vampire community. "So what other classes? Are you taking Magical Creatures this term?"
She tried to change the subject from flying. She didn't much like the act of flying on the brooms, but she did enjoy her high tower. "So, did you ever get approval for that tour thing with David? Will they let you go over christmas?"

Having no idea what else to say about the subject of vampires, she allowed the conversation to shift elsewhere. "Never took that for my OWLs either, Raven is just going to walk all over me this year I'm sure." she laughed, giving the dog a smile. "I'll be taking Charms of course. Potions, Transfiguration, Arithmancy and Muggle Studies. Sadly I'll have to wait for Apparition lessons I think." she lists, hoping she hasn't missed any out. "And yes!!"
She bounced a little on the bed, grinning excitedly and glancing back at the jacket and goggles for a moment. "My parents agreed to it as my birthday present, so I'll be going to America, touring with the band, listening to their performances and hopefully spending some private time with David!" she laughs happily.

"He's just nosy. I'm kinda surprised the headmistress allowed him. I mean I know there have been other creatures at the school before. But I've never seen or heard of a dog." She laughed a bit. "I think I'm in muggle studies too. If you need help with that class let me know. I know all about muggle stuff. Eleven years of my life spent thinking I was a muggle"
Her excitement made her laugh. "That's exciting. I hope you have fun! Have to admit I'm a little jealous your going on a tour with a rock band"

"I really hope it will be as exciting as I hope!" Jillian laughs, feeling a little muddled. "You got to stay in the same house as David though! Shouldn't I be the one who is jealous?" she shook her head and smiled. There was more truth to that statement that she realised, both in regard to David and Maria.
She puzzled at the muggle statement, clearly confused how someone could go from thinking they were a muggle to being part of such a prestigious family. That was a little beyond her understanding though and not wanting to pry she looked to Raven instead. "First for everything I guess," she smiles, reaching out to stroke the mass of fur, "What do you think made McGonagoll agree? Does he have any powers?"

"I didn't really get to see much of him. I was in Germny for a few weeks...which reminds me, I need to talk to the transfiguration professor, or Headmistress about my training...." She pondered o moment and smiled though seeing the puzzled look made her stifle a giggle.
" I get that look a lot when I say that.... You see, I was adopted when I was 2. My parents are magic, but they weren't sure if I was magic, so they waited to see if I got my letter. Well I did. Then last year is when I discovered I was related to Dristan, at the end of term. I guess my dad, is Dristans cousin. It's a little weird. But it's working out I guess. If only I could find my dad...."
She thinks quietly looking at Raven. "magic for sure! He followed me through the floo network to diagon alley. Not sure how. Very protective"

"Weird sounds the right word for it. Lot of careful secrecy in your family by the sounds of it, my parents are usually too busy for anything like that. They are witch and wizard themselves." she explained, kicking off her shoes and tucking them out the way so Raven can't find them. She gives the dog an appraising look, she had never heard of an animal using the floo network before. "Can he talk then?" she asked, "Oh and what training?" she was falling back on her old curious ways now, feeling relaxed.

She sat criss cross on her bed leaning back agianst the headboard as she relaxed. "It is all rather messed up. But I at least know where I come from... At least. Sorta. I still dont know much about my mom. Other then a journal my father gave me, and this ring..." She says holding up the gloved finger. Its a silver ring, shaped like a snake and holding a red ruby like gem.
"I have no idea how it did it. I left him at Dristans Estate and he followed us there. We turned around and there he was....I'm not sure abotu the talking. He woofs alot and nudges me." At the mention of the training to smiled almost devilishly. "When we went to Germany, Dristan and I had started this training regimin. But I started later, so i couldn't complete it. The last of it must be done by someone with high knowledge of Transfigurations."

Jillian went to reach out to Liliana's hand to see the ring better but hesitated. It was not unknown that the other girl did not like shaking hands, though Jillian had no idea why. She had never questioned the gloves, just as Liliana had never questioned her goggles. She gave the ring a curious look. "I don't recognise those colours as anything specific, but history has never been my strong suit." she said apologetically.
She smiled at the talk of Raven, giving the dog a puzzled and amused look. Then she picks up at the talk of training, "My parents were working too much over the summer to teach me much in the way of new charms etc, what sort of Transfigurations did you learn?"

"Theres nothing really special abotu the colors. The way he explained it to me was that the slytherin had caught the heart of a gryffindor" She smiles at the memory. "My dad was a slytherin. My mom a gryffindor. My biological parents at least." She seems to be lost in the memory and shakes herself from it.
She removes the ring and hands it to Jillian to see it better and smiles.
"Oh. Its not exactly a small spell." She grins, a glint in those hazel eyes. "Its a shift of myself."

"Oh, wow. That is quite the pairing and a real lovely sentiment." Jillians beams happily, accepting the ring to look at it in detail before passing it back, "It is beautiful. Quite the spread of houses in your family then! Both my parents were Ravenclaws like me."
She smiles and then the realisation hit her, "I.. Wait? You- An animagus?!" she exclaimed and then tried to hush herself, worried she might be overheard by other room or yelled at. "Seriously? That is top level stuff. I thought I was doing good having already got the hang of most of this years charms, that is amazing!" she then paused a moment, eyes wide. "Wait.. are you not planning to, I mean, with Maria when you're older." she whispers.

"Yea. It makes sense though. Dristan was Gryffindor- now hes head of Slytherin. Darius was Slytherin and he ended up with a Gryffindor" She laughed. "And here I am, a Ravenclaw...The resulted pairing of the two" She had to laugh again as she thought about it. She removed her gloves placing them next to her bed on the night stand.
The excitment from Jillian fed her own excitement of it all. "Yea. I did all the balancing and physical training side of it. But I missed that last Lightning storm that is supposed to line up with the actual transformation. So, I'm supposed to work with the Transfigurations professor, which i guess is now our headmistress...." She shrugs.
At the girls next question, she is a little surprised. "Who knows when that will actually happen...I mean. I guess its still an option if Mary wants it, I wouldn't be learning from her other wise. But the timeline of such things can be far more then we expect. So, why not live life to the fullest until then...and learn to be an Animagus"

Jillian smiles all the while at the talk of Liliana's family and school houses, joining in the laughter.
"I never knew lightning storms were required with the training, Aisha did ask once if I had interests in becoming an Animagus but I didn't and now she has gone I doubt I'll ever get the chance." she shrugs, "It is supposed to be an awfully difficult and gruelling accomplishment, so I hope that you find it worth it! I guess the other thing won't even be an option for a few years anyway," she nods, happy to use some of the bits she has learnt in conversation with someone other than the vampires themselves even if she had to keep to all their oaths of secrecy about much of it.
"Why is it Mary's choice?" she asked, curiously. She noted Liliana's words and seemed a little surprised.

"I guess it depends on the training you go through. We went through some archaic stuff. Super old school" She laughed a bit. "Oh. Yea. I think Dmitry was wanting to do it too, but the summer go so crazy that i dont think it ever happened." Her mind wandered again. She hadn't really spoken to Dmitry. It seemed the two would find themselves together, but then drift apart....She thought young love was all about being joined at the hip. Guess she was wrong.
"Well. I mean- Its something Im interested in. But timing wise. It comes down to when she thinks im ready- At least I think. We havent exactly talked about that aspect of everything yet. Its more learning the basics of it." She shrugs a bit.

"I see.. Came up surprisingly often with me." Jillian shrugged, shaking her head. She was not sure she should say more than that, at least not right away. They had a whole year together and there was no chance it would happen any time soon after all. "I'd love to see you transform when you actually manage it, I expect it must feel ever so strange and unusual. Dimitry another cousin of yours?"
