Aisha had watched David leave. It finally gave her time to write in her journal and to do some devotions. She had slept most of the day away and realized she was moving to his schedule. She needed to make adjustments still. She had just made herself some tea and sat on the terrace watching the night sky.
She wondered when David would be home and what it was he was doing. Feeding possibly she thought to herself. It still irked her that he went out to feed when she was right there but he was what he was and she had come to terms with the fact he needed to feed more often then her body could always sustain.
She was wrapped in her own mind for quite some time that even her tea had grown cold as she sat on the terrace.

Jillian looked truly amazed at all she was being told, she could not tell why he was telling her all this but she was very thankful for it. "Any questions you have, I'll be happy to help with although I do not expect I know more than this fiancée of yours." Jillian had already decided the two could not have been together long if she had not talked with him about too much, "An Animorphmagi is a witch or wizard with the ability to assume animal form without a spell or potion, apparently everyone has an animal they are natually similar to and if trained that is the animal you turn into. I imagine your fiancée enjoys her freedom and like to travel." She chuckled.
The house was not as she had expected, but seemed nice enough. She had no idea what to expect from the wife-to-be of a vampire, teacher or not. As she was escorted up to the apartment her embarassment began to arise again, what would this woman say when she opened the door and saw her there wearing David's jacket around her shoulder.

Aisha had traded her cup of tea for a glass of wine as she sat on the terrace looking up. Maybe she would go for a flight? She didn't know how long David would be and she really needed to think about things. It was hard to concentrate at times though when he wasn't near her, her mind always wandering back to him.
She looked up when she heard his voice. "A visitor?" She asked knowing he wasn't there. She stood and walked to the front door. She wore a bright orange skirt that flowed with her as she moved and a white tank top. When she opened the door she stood there looking at the two. "Miss Penrose, it is good to see you. Please come in." She smiled and looked to David. He didn't need her permission to come into the house. It wasn't like it was locked. She smiled and ushered the two inside.
"Please shoes off at the door. Would you like some tea Miss Penrose?" She smiled at the young student. She noticed David's jacket on her but didn't mind in the slightest it seemed that the girl needed help. She was glad that David had been there to assist her.

"Well then I look very forward to you helping me understand your world Jillian. It does indeed fascinate me." David smiles. "Oh so her being able to turn into a falcon I understand now." He continues to smiles as the door opens and there was Aisha. Quietly he helped Jillian in and removed his shoes at the door and closed it behind them and it appeared that Aisha knew Jillian which was even better. Would help Jillian feel a lot safer perhaps and more comfortable. Once inside he smiles at both ladies and excuses himself after softly kissing Aisha and heads to the bedroom to change.
In the bedroom he removes what he was wearing wanting to put on a black tank top and jeans for comfort. The way he was originally dressed was to draw out his target for feeding. Quietly after he had changed he walks back to both ladies leaning against the wall and listening intently to the both of them smiling.

For a longer time than was comfortable Jillian just stood where David had gently pushed her into the room and stared at Aisha. When she finally caught herself she nervously removed the jacket and slipped her shoes off her feet, still clutching the jacket in her hands. "I, er.. Y-yes please." She replied to the question of tea, managing to resist adding the word professor to the end of the sentance. Of all people, she felt she had embarassed herself in front of this particular teacher enough in the past and now here she was at her house.
"David.." She begun, feeling a little awkward saying his name now. Too familiar perhaps, she wondered. "David told me he was engaged to a teacher, but I never would have guessed.. I am sorry if I am intruding." She felt quite out of place standing there and more than a little embarassed.

"Mr. Alexander invited you dear. You are not intruding at all. Come." She smiled and went into the kitchen and started to warm up the tea. "As for the engagement it only happened yesterday." She smiled, her eyes beaming with love.
With her wand, she hastened the tea to warm quicker and then poured a cup and invited the young woman to the couch. "Tell me, what did he have to save you from dear? He tells me you are ever so inquisitive. Which for a student is never a bad thing."
She sat the tea down on the coffee table and grabbed her wine from the terrace coming to sit back down.

David watches both of them quiet and caught on to Jillian being nervous and embarrassed. He walked over next to Jillian smiling. "You are more than welcome to call me David. It is perfectly fine." He nods and looks to Aisha and walks over to her and kisses her cheek and turns and looks to Jillian. "And the coat please accept it as a token of friendship from me to you. Also as a reminder that not all of us are evil and such." He nods and walks over to the couch and sits down grabbing a book about pirates that he had found in a bookstore and began to read.
Even reading he was still listening in on the conversation between the two of them and he was not want to interject anything right now. Plus there was the question he had promised to answer and he would wait for the time to do so. The book was interesting and he chuckled a bit when they spoke about his sire in particular for french privateers. Oh did they have Renee so wrong but would not say anything.

It was some comfort to Jillian that her theory that David's engagement had been recent. That small amount of self reassurance helped her overcome the embarassment, at least until David spoke up. The blush returned in one fell swoop and she gave a worried look to Aisha before looking back at the womans fiancé. "I.. if you're sure." She nodded, not knowing what else to say as he went and sat down to read.
Turning back to Aisha, still clinging the jacket tightly, Jillian gave her the same almost panicked look she had given the teacher during her recent exams. "You er, mentioned tea?" She asked, floundering for something to say. Her eyes flicking to look around the apartment. She had been avoiding David's eyes as a matter of course, but now she could not meet Aisha's either. It was only the promise of more answers from David and the fact that she had been hoping to be in Aisha's N.E.W.T. class next year that kept her from fleeing the room entirely.

"Yes dear, the tea is right here. Come sit down." She smiled at the student. "Did you get your exam grades? You were accepted into the N.E.W.T class for next year." She said as she sipped her wine. She smiled at David and saw that he seemed to disappear into a book. Though knowing him, he was simply using it as a distraction to not interfere on the current conversation.
"So tell me, what did Mr. Alexander have to save you from my dear? Where did you wander off to?" Miss. Penrose still had not answered her question and she wondered what was troubling the girl other than the blush that accompanied her face she thought maybe she was having some sort of an embarrassment reaction to David. She might have to ask David to head out on the terrace until the girl came out of her shell.

David did glance a moment and smiled at the blush he caught again with Jillian. He was putting two and two together and did not feel bad at all about it. He thought she was attractive as well. But nothing to ever cause a stir with Aisha. Nothing wrong with looking. Now the touching part that would have to be discussed between Aisha and himself prior. Right now he was content and kept at his book bringing one leg over the other reading more about his sire in this ridiculous book.
Flipping the page he brought one arm over the top of the couch and got more comfortable.

Jillian followed Aisha, taking a seat and positioning herself so that her view was directed more at the professor. Maybe if she ignored the vampire where he relaxed for now this would all be easier. She had noticed her teachers repeated use of Mr. Alexander and was worried she was going to be the cause of some trouble if she was not careful.
She smiled thankfully at being told she had been accepted into the advanced class. "I think my parents kept my exam results to themselves, hoping I would not spend the summer studying so much." She shook her head, wondering if she would still have gone wandering for vampires if they had not.
As she sipped her tea, she kept glancing back over at David for brief moments trying to figure out just how much he was listening in. "He saved me from another of his kind.." She said carefully, thinking it the most polite way of showing that she knew full well what David was. Though with how freely he had answered her questions on the walk here she doubted he spent much time concealing the fact. "Inquisitiveness can be a curse sometimes I guess.. I was out in London, exploring." Not the best lie, but one that she might just be able to manage she hoped.

Aisha watched her look to David several times as if stealing glances of him. She hide her chuckle of sorts and just leaned back sipping her wine. When she spoke about David and his 'kind' Aisha knew that Jillian had known what he was. He really needed to keep that part hidden as well, not all of those in the wizarding community were going to be as welcoming.
When Jillian answered the question finally it seemed the girl wasn't quite telling her the entire truth, she seemed to stumble a bit on her words, looking for the right way to describe what it was she was doing. Had she been out there looking for the Kindred of her own accord, Aisha had wondered.
"Miss. Penrose, I feel as though you are not telling the entire truth to that story. What exactly is it you were doing out in the middle of the night, exploring, as you have put it?" If the child was reckless enough to go looking for trouble maybe her parents needed to be made aware of the dangers of a curious mind getting one to far into trouble. There could come a time when there wasn't anyone to save her and that would be a much worse fate for the young woman.

David paused where he was reading and glanced up now right to Jillian as Aisha questioned her a bit more. "Jillian please tell me that you were not actively seeking out my kind?" David asks inquisitively. That was a wrong move on any part of a mortal and one even Aisha knew very well never ends well. He looks to Aisha now and slowly stood up now and walked past the both of them now and out onto the terrace. He began to start watching the street below. Just to make sure that he and Jillian were not followed.
He remained outside for right now watching and observing.

"I.. No, not exactly." Jillian squimed a little. While she was not surprised her teacher had caught some reluctance to her words, she had certainly not expected both of them to challenge her like that. "I was trying to find the answer to a question I have been challenged with, one I promised not to talk to a teacher about I'm afraid.." She gave Aisha an apologetic look, not daring to look at David at that moment. "Apparently that would be cheating, it is something I need find out on my own. I promise I will be a lot more careful about it in future!" That was certainly true after tonight.
With David out of the room Jillian relaxed a little more, but still felt awkward with Aisha looking at her like she was. "How did you meet.. Mr. Alexander?" She asked, making a point of using the name Aisha had been using for him since their arrival.

"My dear, who would tell you not to ask someone a question? Part of finding something out is to ask questions. What subject are you looking into? Vampires?" She eyed the young girl. "Promise or not, getting yourself into trouble isn't a good way to find answers. You still have the trace, how would you protect yourself?" She asked her and looked up as David left the room.
"I presume that he is making sure you weren't followed. I can keep my word to you that if you tell me the question, I will not answer if for you. I will help guide you into a better direction though. Finding answers can be fun. Precautions must be taken though." She stood up for a moment.
"Give me a moment dear." She pulled out her wand and watched David looking out, he seemed to be on the lookout. Very well. She cast several warding spells, not that she didn't have any already, she did, but she was strengthening them up. She walked outside to the terrace. "I strengthened the wards and spells in place to protect our home. You need not worry dear." She smiled kissed his cheek and walked back into the house, taking a seat back on the couch.
"Now then, we finish discussing you and your adventures and maybe then we will discuss mine." She looked at Jillian as she spoke, her eyes not breaking eye contact.

David saw nor sensed any of his kind around and then felt Aisha kiss his cheek and he nods and calms that side of him and relaxes. Turning he walks back inside behind Aisha and sits back down again on the couch listening to what Aisha said to Jillian. Why would any mortal who did not fully understand his world even want to attempt to try and find a vampire. He had seen it time and time again and it even happened to him and to this very night he never understood it, it was like courting death to him.
He remained quiet and went back to his book once more to let them talk to one another and fell silent letting his hair fall down the sides of his face. He messed with something under his tank top for a moment and back to reading.

"It was meant as a challenge I think, asking a teacher is too simple and would not exercise my mind. Surely you have requested students look thinks up for themselves before? I will say that it has something to do with va- Kindred." She said, using the word to show that she was not entirely at a loss in the subject despite how foolish the teacher seemed to be thinking she is. As she did so she wondered if David had even mentioned the word to her himself, she had not told him about animagi after all. Her interest in Aisha's story did get her sharing more however, "The trace is a protection itself of sorts, if I attempted to cast a noticable enough spell I would likely have law enforcement wizards apparating on the spot. There would be punishments of course, but far better than having been alone when attacked."
Her eyes wandered to David again, noticing the way his hair played across his face. Hoping the gaze had not been noticed she looked back at the professor. "I assure you, professor. I had no intention of getting attacked by a vampire tonight. I am ever so thankful that Da- Mr Alexander was there to help me. He has already promised to answer a few of my questions too, so there will be no need for me to get in trouble again." She looked wide eyed now, the realisation that Aisha could contact her parents or perhaps her head of house finally coming to mind.

"I have, yes but never at the risk of themselves. Looking into something when one isn't prepared can be foolish. You do not come off as the foolish type Miss. Penrose, Mr. Alexander can answer any of your questions if he has promised you as such." She watched as she seemed to have an infatuation for him. "Be mindful though Miss. Penrose, if you look at all Kindred like that it is no wonder they find you in dark alley's when a little girl wanders where she shouldn't." She added as she stood and went back to the kitchen to refill her wine glass.
With Jillian's back to her she looked over her and to David. He apparently didn't let in on the entire of the girl's visit but she would address that later. She stood by the counter to give them both room to speak.

Kindred? The very word caused David to look right at Jillian and slowly he closed his book and put it aside now. Draping an arm over the top of the couch once more. One of his kind had to have been speaking to Jillian it only made sense to him that one of his kind would send this young woman on something like this about a question that she needed answered. "First and foremost vampire and kindred well that is not our proper term for us. The proper term would be Cainite meaning race of Caine." David nods to Jillian.
"I did promise you that I would answer a particular question and I will but first since it seems you need an answer from a Cainite for this question that you have been sent to find out about something. What is the question that you are seeking about Jillian?" His thinking was this...he answers said question thus Jillian would have no reason to seek out others of his kind and possibly get herself killed or worse and there were things worse than death in his world. David caught the look from Aisha and knew that they would be speaking later but for right now his concern was Jillian's mortal safety.

Jillian squirmed at having David's full attention, it had been quite different as he had led her here. They were not face to face for one thing and her avoiding his gaze like before was only making her feel more awkward and uncomfortable. She had her reasons and only hoped that neither of the two would put it down to her being that embarassed. Not that she wasn't embarassed, she was. "Cainite.." she repeated, memorising the word. The difference in names was interesting, she took it to be the american term. Similar to how american mages called muggles no-majs.
She shifted seats, moving closer to David and sitting so that she was facing him now. She then spoke in a whisper, telling herself that it was the best way to avoid breaking the promise she had made about teachers, if Aisha listened in that way on her. The logic was a little fuzzy but she felt the two would not give her a choice, if she kept quiet they would do the opposite in regard to her activities tonight. David may also grow annoyed with her. "The question was about the Ankh, you don't wear one and are from America so I assume you are of a different sect to what I am researching." She spoke the still foriegn words as if she was certain of their meaning, but was still uneasy about using them in sentances. Foreign indeed. "I am aware that the ankh represents an organisation, not the sect itself." She added, hoping she was not sounding like a complete idiot.

David was silent and watched as Jillian got closer to him and now she was face to face with him. Then her voice becoming a whisper and from how she approached him he spoke in a whisper to her. "The ankh represents many things in my world. Organizations, sects, groups the list goes on and on. So your question about the ankh is very broad and even if you approached an older Cainite they would be saying the same to you Jillian. So in order to help you get the answer you seek I am going to give you a question that will help me help you." David nods his eyes fully locked to her.
"The ankh in question. Is it up right or upside down? Describe it to me." His hand going to his tank top and he was twirling the one that was around his neck under his tank top right now.

She stared at his hand, what it held and his neck. There was no way she couldn't, she only hoped Aisha wasn't watching. She dared not look around. She appreciated that he was whispering as well, it surprised her how much she was trusting him. What he said had worried her though. "No wonder it has been a difficult challenge to riddle out.." She sighed, "It was the right side up, like a normal ankh. Gold and well polished, those that wore it knew a lot more about the wizarding world than you. They were a lot more careful with their words too, not letting anything slip. I could not help but respect them for that. They knew the value of knowledge. You are a different sect than them, aren't you?"

"You speak of the Camarilla then." David pauses a moment and releases his hand from his tank top and to what was hidden underneath and pondered. "Allow me to guess something. The ones that sent you to seek this knowledge. One is male and the other is female. The male has a cane yes?" His eyes look back to Jillian. If this was true and the Tremere was behind this, Mary would need to know that the Tremere were sending witches and possibly wizards out to actively seek out vampires and that could cause problems.
"Myself yes I am a different sect, our ideals....are very different from them. Consider me....a knight of sorts preparing for a final battle to defend this world because the views of the other sect would rather live their lives to the fact that what will come one night to them does not exist when in fact it does." A slight tilt of his head really looking at Jillian now. Why would any vampire put a mortal in harms way like this? He did not like it at all. There was supposed to be a peace right now and yet.
"Let me state this for you. I will never lie to you. I will never send you out to seek something that could put you in mortal danger. I will answer every question if I must to make sure you are safe. What has been done to you is wrong and it could have been your death. There are others in my world that even the fact of a mortal seeking us out is grounds to kill them and others that are outright insane."

"I.." Jillian began and then paled a little, "I have to be honest, as you are. My methods of trying to find things out are my own choice. Sitting here and talking like this, part of me wonders if I have failed whatever the real reason for their test was and perhaps now I have failed whatever trust you have in me." She closed her eyes at that, gripping the jacket in her hands tighter. "I am sorry you had to save me."
Opening her eyes again she looked around at Aisha and spoke up, "I am sorry to have intruded on your evening."
Turning back to David with a pained look to her eyes she came the closest she had to meeting his gaze and asked the one question she felt most important to what he had said, "Tell me about the couple you mentioned, their clan too." She did not feel anyone had put her in danger, but knowledge is important and if David was right, it could save her life.

David looked to Aisha when Jillian closed her eyes and gripping his jacket and Aisha would see that David had grown rather fond of Jillian and very concerned for her. His eyes returning to Jillian and gently placing his hand which was now warm instead of cold on her hand to reassure her. "First I am not sorry that I saved you Jillian. Because if I was sorry then I would have not gotten to meet such an inquisitive woman." He smiles. "Also you have failed in nothing. You have found a Cainite and received your answer. Thus the test that you were tasked with to me has been completed." He continues.
Once more David looked to Aisha when Jillian apologized to Aisha and then returned his eyes right back to Jillian.
"The couple I speak of are from the sect that is opposite of mine. If it was them that sent you on this task they knew the risks and knew that you could have been harmed so I am having a very hard time understanding why they would do such a thing to you. What I know of them is this....they are secretive about their clan and for me to even divulge any more current without proper consent would possibly mean the death of the both of us. So for the moment know this about them. They know your world very well because they have a very close connection to it. I can not speak any more about it unless given permission." He nods.
"Now....before I give you the answer to the question you asked me outside. Has my answer about the ankh and the couple satisfied you?"

Jillian was fighting back tears a little at David's reassurances, but when he talked about Tremere secrecy a look of absolute surprise and worry came over her face and she looked up at him in concern, forgetting not to meet his eyes in her worry. "I never- I didn't mean to do anything that might risk your life!" She spoke quickly. "If I had known that much I would not have said anything or asked. I am sorry!"
She dabbed at her eyes with one of her oversized sleeves, "You do not need to answer that question. You have answered more than enough I think.." She said quietly. The fact she was turning down such an interesting subject would show anyone who knew her just how apologetic she was. She yawned then, it had been a very full night.

Aisha came back over and sat on the arm of the couch next to David looking at Jillian and listening to their conversation. "First dry up those tears. Second you haven't risked anything. Like he said, it would only be if he divulged that information, which he hasn't." She smiled softly and sipped her wine leaning there against the arm of the couch.
"Third, the evening was a quiet one, if anything you added some spice to the quiet parts of the night. You have nothing to fret about. Another thing, if you had to go seeking out a question about a simple symbol and put yourself at risk like you had, you should think about who sent you. Remember there are books and library's all over the UK. You could have found the answer in a book first. Putting yourself at risk, and I cannot stress it enough is dangerous for you. What would you have done if you were cornered and David hadn't been there? What would have happened if you got hurt? Would you parents have even known where you were?" She sighed softly.
"My first order of business is the safety of my students. Now, before you and David get on the next question, you will tell me who gave you this task. That is not up for debate either Miss Penrose." She looked at her with all the eyes of serious Professor asking a student for a straight answer.

Too shocked for tears, Jillian just stared at her professor as she took in all she had just said. She doubted the teacher would go as far as removing her from the N.E.W.T. class, but she did not in truth know Aisha that well. There was no way she could be sure. Her parents would likely be mad too, they encouraged her curiosity but she had to agree that she had taken advantage of the freedom they gave her. In a panic she began trying to remember if she had broken any school or ministry rules she knew of, none came to mind. The look of Aisha's face was as serious as ever however and Jillian had had five years of obeying that look.
"It was the couple David mentioned." She said, her voice almost void of emotion. "I did try looking in books, if it were not summer I would have checked the schools restricted section. I did try, Professor! I could have kept looking, I know I was a fool.. Please don't write to my parents about what happened." She started to turn her head to look at David but stopped herself, she would not go pleading for his help. She had caused him enough trouble and this was her fault. Whatever Professor Ria had in mind she would face it herself.

Aisha nodded her head at the girl. "How much effort did you put into books dear? The internet also has a vast source and at your age I wouldn't be surprised if you technology also at your fingertips." She sighed and rubbed a temple putting her glass down on the coffee table.
"As for writing to your parents, that I will leave up to you. You should tell them, tell them what you have been up to at least to some degree. You need not mention the trouble you seem to have put yourself into though." She offered the girl a smile. "Mr. Alexander cannot help you in this department, you know this. He has no say in our world. Just as we have no say in theirs. Be mindful, enjoy your thirst for knowledge but tread carefully. I will speak with the couple. I happen to know them." She looked at David.
"As for yourself, I would suggest not traveling into places you are not familiar with." She looked at the two of them. "What is this other question she has for you David? I want to know before you answer please." She looked at him, this wasn't the same woman he had grown to love, this was professional side of her as a professor putting her students above all else.

Jillian nodded slowly, her shoulders hunched with relief at not having to face howlers from her parents work. It would not have been the first time, but if an attack had been mentioned they would probably have been worse than the time she had accidentally started a fire at school. "I will, Professor." She said quietly, agreeing to everything Aisha had said to her. She was worried what would come of the conversation Aisha had mentioned, she had never meant to cause any of this trouble. She would not be wandering London alone again, at least until she was of age.
She looked down at the jacket in her arms, quietly not regretting everything that had happened that evening. She waited to see what he would say.
