Jillian followed the glowing ball across the campus, followed in turn by her luggage which floated along behind her. She hoped the house-elf knew what it was doing, she had always been cautious around them and their magic, she couldn't understand their servile nature at all. Not only that but she found a lot about them a little disturbing although perhaps that was mostly due to their nature of turning up behind you without you noticing.
She noticed the sign for the third cabin as the ball approached and rushed past it to get to the door first, "Hello?" She called, before giving the door a knock. A second later she had the door open and had slipped inside, giving her wand a couple of flicks to cause her luggage to rush in after her and then for the door to close, leaving the orb outside to mind its own business. She felt a little silly for that as she turned about, but she wanted out of the gaze of the younger students. A few of whom had given her looks, obviously curious as to who she was arriving late.
"Hello?" She repeated before she could entirely take in the room and its bunks, "Anyone in here? Which bunks are taken?"

Going on the assumption that the other girls must be off enjoying themselves in some way Jillian took her time checking the beds in an attempt to figure out which was the least likely to have been taken and then began unpacking some of her things. Her bedclothes went in a pile on the bunk and her cases she ended up tucking beneath it. A few of her more prized possessions she placed on the pillow before she got ready to get changed; Her goggles, belt and wand, the enchanted pouch she had been given on the last day of term, a small communication mirror that she had been extra careful with and the peculiar muggle spinning device that had been invaluable during the long uneventful hours her parents had been at work.
"It is so hot here.." She muttered to herself, as she started getting changed into something more suitable for the weather than the robes she had arrived in. Once she was done she looked down at herself, happy at how the owl feather amulet looked around her neck now it was not hidden beneath her robe.

(Sorry, health issues)
"Would say you get used to it but honestly you really don't," Victoire answered as she walked into the cabin, coming back from the beach in her bikini. She had been hoping someone else would come in and bunk with her and Alicia. "Bunks, alright as well. I have a top and Alicia as another one." Course she already knew Jillian from school. But she hoped here could be different since they weren't separated by different years. She was still determined to make good on Professor Oakwood's challenge to her off trying to have more fun. She made her way over to her foot locker grabbing her shrug and sunblock that she had forgotten. She turned back around she pointed to her amulet, "That is pretty, come from your owl?"

Recognising the voice, Jillian turned around smiling. "It was a gift from Professor McGriffin actually," She replied, hoping she did not look too embarassed about the fact. Straightening up, she stepped forward and held out her hand. "Your name is.. Victoire isn't it? I hope I got that right. It is good to see you again, I never did get the chance to thank you for helping me out during charms practice."
She was not sure that the older girl would remember the small act as she felt Victoire likely helped a lot of students out in various ways, but it had stuck with Jillian and not only because she had managed to do well in her exam because of the practice.
(( Welcome back, hope you are doing better ))

Vic nodded a bit, "Gotten a few gifts from Professor McGriffin, myself." She pointed over to the survival bag that she was given for her birthday. "Think I would rather take the owl feather compared to a few, she has given me." Not that she didn't like them, she did. She just didn't see the point in some of them since she didn't plan on attacking or being attacked anytime soon. "Victoire or as friends like to call me, Vic. Either one is fine." NO harm in branching out and making a few friends besides family. There was a difference in talking to people while at school and actually being friendly. She gave Jillian a smile, "No problem, that is what housemates are for. How did your charms exam go?" She was still waiting to hear how she had done, but maybe they had sent out the results already. That would at least get one worry out of the way for her.

Jillian laughed when Victoire indicated the survival bag and commented on it, before waving a hand to the leather pouch that lay upon on bunk. "I think I know what you mean.." She chuckled and then added with a wide smile, "I'm happy to call you Vic, if that is what you like." She had not expected the chance to become friends with the older, more popular girl but with that statement and the knowledge that they had at least one thing in common she could not help but smile at the possibility.
"I think I did really well, it is one of my favourite classes and my mother works with charms herself. Although, I suppose I may just be overconfident after my Astronomy result which I still cannot get over.." She looked a little flushed as she considered that.

"Just don't ever call me late for dinner," Vic told her with a smile. "Think her heart is the right place though." She said commenting on the professor. New friend, it was out of her norm, but so far so good. And they had a few things in common and she liked the thought of having someone to talk to here at camp and at the school. Maybe she should have branched out before now.
"Hoping a did well enough to continue on with the subject. I hated the Astronomy test, that is one I don't mind if I didn't get a passing grade on." Which meant she could focus on something else, what she wanted to do after school. "Guess, I will still have to wait to see what my marks are. Seriously, hate the waiting game. But at least camp can keep my mind off of things. Feel like coming to the beach with me?"

Jillian smiled agreement at Professor McGriffin's heart being in the right place and then nodded her understanding of the pain of having to wait on her exam results, it had been hinted upon how well she had done at Astronomy which had greatly surprised her but the rest were still a mystery. For the most part she felt confident but doubts were nibbling at her a lot. "Time will tell on the exam results," She said, repeating the words she had told herself several times. The beach sounds great," She cheered up at the thought, appreciating the offer. "I would love to!"
She stopped to grab up her belt along with its pouches and her attatched wand, leaving the mirror and her signature goggles on the bunk. They would not do in the heat, she told herself, and I do not want to come across as too odd or quirky right away. She only hoped that Victoire did not still remember the fire she had caused in the ravenclaw dorms about five years back.

"And maybe we will find out sometime this summer." That was a hope, doubted that it would happen. But maybe they would get an answer. Vic gave her a smile, "Awesome." Hanging out at the beach with a friendly face was better than going to the beach by herself. She waited for Jillian to get herself ready. She didn't mind the girl's quirks. Or the fire, that was all in the past. Once Vic figured the girl was ready, she walked over and linked elbows with her.
"Now it's time for my favorite past time, beach and people watching. Summer camp full of teenagers, should be fun don't you think?"

Jillian looked a little flushed as Victoire linked elbows with her, but kept quiet and just smiled as the two made their way out of the cabin. With her parents often being busy at work and not having too many friends at Hogwarts she was not used to familiar touching and certainly not from someone she had just met. She did not dislike it however and told herself the nervousness would pass.
"I hope so," She managed to reply to Victoire's question, she had done her share of people watching in the past but more often from somewhere she could not be readily seen herself. She was quite looking forward to the change and felt that at least in the older girls company, she wasn't likely to be laughed at by anyone. "Is the beach good?"

In times of excitement, Vic usually forgot people didn't like other invading personal space. And apparently, this was one of those times. But the excitement of hanging out with another person at the beach and just being. Was a better option than reading a book and researching on the Fea. Nope, people watching with Jillian sounded way better.
"We will see," Vic said with a nod. "Let's see, sand, sun, and water. It's one of the prettier beaches I have been to." She did hope Jillian would have fun. "Course if you hate the fact gets everywhere then that might be an issue. But sometimes the guys make up for it." None were Teddy, but still, she could appreciate a nice looking body.

Victoire's last comment made Jillian blush all the more, but the laughter that followed helped her relax. She had not considered gazing at boys when she had agreed to the camp, so the idea came as a rather nice surprise. "I am looking forward to it all the more," She giggled. "Seems to be a long summer ahead of us, I could not think of a better start than this."

"No work, just fun." Not that she wouldn't practice anything or craft something. "Long summer that will go by fast. And then we won't to leave." That was her prediction for now anyway. Time always flew by when you were having fun. "And if we get bored you could probably try another activity, maybe." She didn't know why she hadn't really taken the time to get to know Jillian before now. Because the girl seemed pretty cool and chill.

"Won't be able to play all the time, I have myself a summer project." Jillian admitted, though as of yet she had no idea how to go about getting started as her books at home had proven unhelpful. "But a good amount of play will be a good change. I guess you understand too much studying as well as I do?" She hoped the girls exams would come through soon, her O.W.L.s had been stressful so she could not imagine how anxious she would be to find out how her first year of N.E.W.T.s were going. Maybe leaving school stuff as school was a good policy. As they walked she made a point to gaze at the other students, making a small game of trying to figure out which school they were from.
"Talking of activities, have you seen McGriffon here? She mentioned she would be running a few things during the summer.." By Jillian's tone she was both looking forward to and dreading seeing the Astronomy professor.

"What kind of project?" Though she had told herself that she wasn't going to research or worry about anything academic. She was going to have fun this summer. "Play is always good. Too much studying takes away from socializing." Even though she was still worried about her results, she wasn't going to let that stop her from having fun. School was school and camp was camp. No use worrying over a spilled potion.
"I only saw her at the bonfire," As much as she liked Mcgriffon, she didn't physically seek her out. Because she wasn't wanting to be in constant vigilance mode. "But she is around and few others as well. Think they are part time counselors, maybe? Not really sure now the head lady, she is a cool old lady."

Jillian felt herself looking a little awkward as Victoire talked of socializing, she knew well the costs of studying when it came to that. When she had first been bullied for being unable to fly she had thrown herself into her first year of studying and part of her felt she had never recovered from the loss of social friendship that had cost her. She did enjoy studying however. Unsure how to explain the project she had been set she came up with a vague explanation, "Extracurricular Defence Against the Darks Arts work," she said quickly, she had never been good at lying but that was close enough to the truth to pass she hoped. "I am hoping to learn some more about Professor Kestrel." She add, at least that much was completely true.
She listened and nodded along with Victoire's explanation about MyGriffon and the other adults and then her attention caught. If Victoire thought the old woman was cool, then she must be interesting. "I am not sure I have met her yet.. What is she like?"

"Have fun with that, Dark Arts, really don't hold my focus." Guess that settled her decision on becoming a curse breaker like her dad. That was one idea down course she still needed to figure out what else to do after graduation. But if that was what Jillian wanted to do with part of her summer, more power to her. But then wasn't that professor a vampire? "Be careful with that, that could be a dangerous subject. But could get a lot of information might be useful later on." Knowledge was knowledge.
"Agatha," How to explain the old woman, "She doesn't lie, but she likes to play tricks on the campers. I missed it at the bonfire but apparently, she scared a few young ones with another counselor, just to see how they would handle it. After that, it was games and fireworks. And her fireworks were some of the best I have seen, including the dragon. We can find her later if you want? So you can try to meet her."

"Taking risks runs in the family, I suppose I was raised that the more dangerous something is then the better it is to learn about it." She smiled, appreciating Victoire's concern. "Admittedly, my parents probably meant that more in regard to spells and experimentation, but I think the logic is still sound." Jillian gave a half shrug, she knew her curiousity had gotten the best of her on the subject but she could not bring herself to back down from the challenge or leave something half-done.
She looked truly intrigued at the description of the camps leader, though a little nervous at the mention of her scaring people on purpose. "Alright, it sounds like it would be an experience. I am sorry I missed all the fireworks."

Taking risks in Vic's mind was alright after all she was related to the Golden Trio. Then her parents being part of the Order, that made sense in her mind. Fighting for the greater good, doing what was right. But researching about vampires, that was a little dangerous and could possibly end up with a person dead or a vampire. And she didn't see immortality drinking blood as any kind of life. She would miss the sun too much. But if that was Jillian's thing, then more power to her. "Professor Oakwood set me the challenge of learning what I could about the Fae, so I get no wanting to let it go."
"Yeah, the fireworks were great." Once at the beach Vic started back to where her blanket was with her charms books she had been reading. Sitting down she gestured for Jillian to join her. "There is more of a crowd than earlier, so should be more entertaining."

"The fae?" Jillian looked surprised, "I do not know much about them, but what little I do suggests that could be pretty difficult and perhaps more than a little confusing." She chuckled, looking about at the crowd before taking a seat at the edge of Victoires towel, cursing herself in her head for not thinking to grab one of her own. Too much time in school or in London, too little time at the beach clearly.
Settling a little and looking around more she tried to see if there were any other faces she recognised. "Anyone here I should know?"

"Yes, it has been confusing and a little difficult. But I like challenges so it has been my thing since a month before school let out." And she was suffering headaches after headaches, especially after asking Professor McGriffin. That had been a trip, one that she didn't want to repeat. In fact, she usually left more confused than going in. Vic was glad her towel was big enough for two, she might like the beach but the sand she could have done without since it tended to get everywhere hence the larger towel.
"I haven't noticed anybody, but then I was too wrapped up in my studies that if it wasn't a house member then I probably know who they are."

Jillian nodded her agreement with that. Without their school robes she found it almost impossible to place anyone, but she was happy to note the lack of school robes did make watching the other students more interesting. Victoire had been right there too. Trying hard to think up something to say that was not about school or studies she managed to ask "You don't have your eyes on anyone in particular here then?" She could not admit that she had not gone on a date in her life and just hoped that her inexperience did not show through in the conversation.

It was nice to see people outside of the robes, but it wasn't fun when trying to place someone. Since you looked like an idiot trying to figure out where she knew the person was from or which house. But seeing them in normal clothes made it more fun, especially some more outlandish fashion choices. Though she did bundle up when around fire, so she couldn't talk herself. Victoire shook her head slightly, "Nope, though I don't mind looking. But I do have my eye, someone." She hadn't really vocalized it to anyone, though she figured some family members might have figured it out. But then telling someone about it might be good. "His name is, Teddy, Teddy Lupin."

Jillian turned a curious look on Victoire, it did not surprise her that the older and prettier girl would have an interest in someone. "I think I have heard the name but I can't recall his face." She said a little apologetically. "What is he like?" She turned, adjusting how she was sitting to lean a little closer to the other girl, genuinely curious.

"He was a seventh year Hufflepuff last year and Head Boy. But Teddy is well Teddy, typical Hufflepuff, I guess. Loyal and hardworking, still loves a good prank now and then. Grew up together, I guess. His godfather is Harry so he would come and hang out with all of my crazy family on occasion. There isn't a person he doesn't talk to unless of course your one of the backward closed minded kind." You would think having spent all the time she had with Teddy, Vic could do him more justice. But Teddy was just Teddy. He was his own person, league of his actually at least in Victoire's mind. "He has a way of making a bad day turn around by either making you laugh or just taking your mind away from the situation. Sure changing appearances helps, his a metamorphmagus, like his mother was. His dad was a werewolf but from the stories I heard he was one of the best, they both died during the last War."
She laughed realizing how that probably sounded, "I don't think I did him justice in telling you what he was like, sorry. But his a person, I can go to with anything no matter the time. His my best friend, really."

A smile spread across Jillian's features as she listened to Victoire talk about Teddy. She could not help but look a little embarassed when him being a metamorphmagus came up and she gave no reaction to the werewolf comment aside from a nod. Her smile faded at the mention of his parents deaths but brightened again as her new friend finished.
"I think you described him wonderfully. I'm sorry I never got to meet him, I hope next year won't be too difficult for the two of you with him no longer being at Hogwarts." She reached out and patted the other girls hand lightly but dared not leave her hand there. Then she had a realisation, "Wait- Harry? As in Harry Potter?" She looked shocked.

"Well, since he doesn't know I like him, think it will be easy. I will miss talking to him and seeing him most every day. But there is the owl post." Wasn't the same and it wasn't like the muggle tech. But it was better than nothing so she would take that. She chuckled a little as Jillian realized who she was talking about. It still amazed her people were surprised when she mentioned Harry. She just figured it was a given.
She nodded a little, "Yes, Harry Potter. He is my Uncle and Hermione Weasley is my Aunt." She loved her family and hated it at the same time because she felt like it gave her a lot to live up too.

"He must like you though." Jillian replied without thinking, saying the words as if they were obvious and that any alternative impossible. "Do you know what he plans to do now he has finished at Hogwarts? Maybe he could come meet you on Hogsmeade weekends!" She actually giggled.
"You said the name as if it could be any old Harry," Jillian shook her head, still surprised. "My parents often have good things to say about him, your aunt too. From what they say they like her a lot, though I don't think they have actually met her much." She smiled at that, "Both my parents work at the Ministry, on certain committees. Both researchers, I guess I take after them."

Vic shrugged, "Wouldn't know he could see me as nothing more than a sister/friend." After all, they did grow up together. Plus, even with her heritage Victoire didn't really see what made herself so special. Sure she was smart but that was about it. "As for what he plans on doing, I don't really know. He hasn't really settled on anything last time we had talked. So he might be working with my Uncle George in his joke shop. Till he figures something out." Being his friend was better than nothing in her mind. Even if she didn't mind seeing if there was something more. But she was too chicken to try and see.
"Guess, I'm used to him just being plain old Uncle Harry." She nodded as Jillian talked about her parents, "Nothing wrong with research, we are Ravenclaws after all. Think we wrote the book on researching. But they are pretty interesting maybe you can come to my house sometime, usually have a beach party that most of the family comes to."

Jillian was not sure what to say, "Come to your house and maybe meet Uncle Harry and Aunt Hermoine?" She laughed. "I don't know what I would do in that sort of situation, you make it sound so normal!"
She shook her head, still smiling at the thought and Victoire's offer. "I think I would love to visit sometime though, I take it you do not live in London?" She knew the joke shop of course, though since much of their merchandise had been used to bully and tease her in her first few years at Hogwarts she was not one to visit the establishment regularly. "I have not travelled much of the country outside of the city and the school, my parents work a lot."
