Ignoring Quinn and Justin, letting Exo figure his own path, Maria was focused on Rene. She crept towards him, and her tentacles reached out. All at once he was held and bound as six thick arms of darkness wound their way around and within him, holding him tightly, gagging his voice, pinning his arms. She laughed then, turning him to look at her. He sees a dark and beautiful reflection of the late 1500s, a pirate like himself, but dark and wild and beautiful. She steps backwards into the Abyssal gateway behind her, dragging him with her.
To Rene, the blackness is absolute, and colder than any place on Earth. But it's not quiet. It's alive with things he cannot see. Things that touch him, explore him. The portal closes behind him, and the world is gone.
"You will wait here, Son of Discord, at my pleasure. Here your voice has no power. Your eyes cannot see. You are mine now, for what you did to what is mine. Welcome to the Abyss. I hope you survive long enough to taste my wrath."
Balthazar came. She could feel his presence. "Watch over him. He mustn't die. Other than that, let the have their fun." She says to her familiar. And she left Rene there, amongst creatures who knew her well.
And then, she was stepping out into her living room in Camden, six dark tentacles still squirming at her sides, her eyes ablaze with green fury, the coldness of the Abyss still clinging to her, body and soul.

Exo did not like what he was seeing. There was a lot going on in the wizard's head...things that made Exo growl. Someone was going to...wait. What was that? David..and...a Tzimicse. Exo knew it! An accomplice. But he wasn't here, he was...North of here...
Pulling out of the wizard's brain, Exo turned back to the alley. "Maria...I trust you have this. I am going to take care of another problem." With that, he dropped his weapons back in his duffel, picked it up and was off on a run. The hospital was not far from here. He needed to get there as fast as he could...

Exo had to get to the Portland hospital, he had to stop the rouge vampire from escaping, Mary had dealt with Rene and Justin was occupied with Quinn. This left Dr. Lazarus and his mortal security detail. The first problem was, how to get there the fastest. He had a street lined with vehicles, he could also run... hogwartsbynight.boards.net/thread/1066/july-28th-30pm-catching-butcher

Exo with Dr. Lazarus in toe heading back to the Kestral Estate, Mary having trapped Rene in the abyss, all that was left of Pirate was Justin now facing off with Quinn and The ship of souls and her crew still moored in North Celtic sea. David and Aisha had broken the charm on the sword killed the supply crew. The boat it's self exposed to the naked eye by still charmed to look some what derelict and would repel muggels. At least until Justin returned to the ship or died.

[Justin shot through the illusory Killing Curse with Bombarda]
This was the golden opportunity. As the enemy's curse exploded at Quillusion's feet, Quinn jerked her wand backwards as if stung. In turn, this motion caused the doppelgänger to soar backwards through the air and flop motionless onto the ground some meters away. The rhythm of the battle was proceeding in Quinn's favor, as the enemy found himself victorious. She had goaded him as much as she could in their limited engagement, and as long as he took time to gloat, everything would work out fine. She let her illusion lie face-down, disheveled and still, and turned her attention fully to the three specially prepared ingredient pouches on the ground before her. She didn't have much time, so she was going to have to use her wand to expedite the adding and positioning of the three ingredients into the ritual basin. Before she began, she quickly erected one extra barrier of silence and one of obscuring privacy, hoping that it would be enough to keep her position hidden while she combined the necessary ingredients. The timing would be tight, but she had done the ritual quickly before.
The first pouch levitated before her, its magical seal unbroken. Quinn took a deep breath, and began the most concise form of the ritual:
"Ancient life, to fuel your power."
The seal on the first pouch vanished with a flick of her wand, and a significant quantity of crude oil seeped out to fill the basin. In only a moment the surface became completely smooth. Without wasting any time, immediately the second pouch had taken the place of the first.
"Stolen flame, to ignite your wrath."
The second seal was broken, and the pouch produced exactly seven small, active, white-hot ashwinder eggs. The eggs dropped into the oil without disturbing its surface or igniting the fumes, seeming to instantly dissolve. As the seal on the third pouch was broken, something began to swirl and churn beneath the surface of the oil and the runes around the outside edge of the basin began to glow.
The final ingredient was the most important, being the ingredient that allowed the caster to influence the flames and to extinguish them once their work was complete. Out of the third pouch came a short, sharp shard of pure obsidian. One more flick of her wand, and the obsidian sliced a precise, runic gash into the back of Quinn's left hand. At the same time, she intoned the final verse.
"Vital essence, to bind two wills as one."
Thus bloodied, the obsidian was allowed to fall into the basin, dissolving in the same manner as the ashwinder eggs. The slow churning and bubbling of the black oil instantly became violent, as if something beneath the surface was attempting to claw its way free. The glowing runes on the basin shifted from soft red to blazing orange-white, the bleeding wound on Quinn's hand burned with flaming light, and behind her eyes appeared two bright points of flame.
With a wave and a final flick of her wand, the glowing ritual basin was swiftly levitated and flung out of the alley. A breach in the oil appeared mid-flight, bright as the sun, and before the basin even hit the ground the Fiendfyre beast emerged. Ever-shifting and chimaeric, but contained into a single concentrated form, its manyfold predatory gazes were focused on the only prey in sight: the enemy. The asphault sizzled and melted away beneath its body, the air became blisteringly hot, and Quinn smiled darkly in her hiding place. Force multiplier: achieved. While the beast was facing off against her enemy, she would be weaving anti-apparition and anti-portkey wards of her own. She wasn't about to let him escape his fate.

Justin laughed as the false Quinn flew back, flopping as if knocked out or killed by the explosions. "one less phoenix in the world." slowly he approached the body. Stopping a short distance away he aimed his wand, "Just to be sure, AVDA KADVERA!" the jet of green light flew from the tip of his wand and with a rushing sound the killing curse struck the double's body. Satisfied with the job he'd done he turned back to look around, Rene and David where gone, "Rene. Rene. RENE!" he looked around, Rene had already been taken by Mary, "oh shit," walked back to the side walk but as he got closer and dropped his own wards he noticed something was wrong. He felt the wards Quinn had put up, which meant she wasn't dead. "Cleaver!" he growled, "Okay where are you hiding, I See what you've done... Come out Come out, Your the only one around here strong enough to keep me here, only one who could of come up with that," Shouting around in to the night air he pointed to where the doppelganger. As he did it dissolved way. A note of fear shot through his spine. "Come out and really face me you coward!"
At that moment There came a roar from the Alley, "so that's where your hiding!" He started in the direction of Quinn's hiding place, but stopped short as a large fiery lumbering beast appeared around the corner. "Another illusion! you won't fool me again!" but this was no illusion. The air became hot and dry, the street hissed, the paint on the cars nearest the beast began to blister and melt. "Diffindo!" The severing charm split the flame but did nothing in means of damage, the fire simply reformed. Spell after spell, curse after curse, all thrown at the living fire, and it simple continued until finally Justin was standing head long with it. As a last attempted Justin tired apperating but nothing he was stuck. The beast lunged coming to land on top of the former deatheater. As it pounced Justin throw every protection charm in knew in to effect, with little result. The fire came crashing down on him, his charms lasting only a matter of seconds before they broke. With a scream of pain and terror, Justin was reduced to barely a pile of ash.

There was one final bit of influence Quinn needed to exert over this battle, but considering the nature of her weapon it was much less of a guarantee. Still, if she could pull it off she would have another useful tool, and it would help to placate the Ministry. She brandished her fiery left hand, and spoke once more in tones of command and ancient magic.
"Your prey holds a weapon of great power in his hand. It cannot hurt you. Destroy the prey. Do not destroy the weapon.."
There was little in the way of acknowledgement, but that was to be expected. She could communicate with the beast in a limited sense, but its intelligence was nothing like an actual animal. She could only do battle with its will, force it to express its power and destruction exactly in the way she wished. This was not an exact science, but she had trained herself for years to redirect the torrent of flame and ferocity that was embodied by Fiendfyre. This was a real combat situation, the first in years, but as the beast prepared to make its final attack, the bond felt strong. She was in control. Now it was all a matter of timing.
Watching carefully with her telescopic-vision spectacles, Quinn aimed her wand at what was soon to be the corpse of her enemy. One final set of muttered, repeated incantations, "Accio wand, accio wand, accio wand, accio wand", and it was done. The beast had, in the end, lunged upon the back of the panicked, fleeing mage. In the mere moment between the enemy's torso being vaporized and his outstretched arm followed suit, one of Quinn's summoning charms took hold of his wand. At incredible speed, the wand escaped the torrent of flame and found its way to its new master. As it floated before her, it seemed to be almost quivering, and upon closer inspection the wood had been badly scorched by its momentary exposure to the heat of the Fiendfyre beast. In one or two places, the wood had been burned all the way to the core. It would need to be repaired before it could act as one of Quinn's backup wands, but it would be able to produce a Priori Incantatem effect, and that was all that mattered.
The Fiendfyre beast was beginning to prowl the street for additional prey, slowly growing larger with each passing second. That was going to attract the wrong sort of attention, if she didn't put it out quickly. She strengthened the muggle-repellent charms she had quickly erected to replace the enemy's, and turned to her weapon.
"Your task is complete, great one. Return to whence you came, and soon you shall be rewarded with a feast to rival any I have provided you. Return. Return...."
She slowly increased the commanding tone and volume of the word "return", fighting the second battle of wills with the creature. Enticed by the promise of further meals, cowed by the voice of its summoner, the beast slowly, ponderously backed down. Its size was reduced, and it became little more than a serpent or ribbon of flame, slithering across the street to the ritual basin that acted as the conduit for its summoning. Quinn pointed her wand at the basin and spoke the ancient, nigh-unpronounceable incantation that would break the fire spirit's connection to the mortal plane. The snake became an ouroboros, consuming itself from back to front, and as she spoke the final syllable, the creature vanished entirely. The bowl was empty of its previous contents, the fiery glow of the runes on the basin and Quinn's hand faded away, and the flaming light behind her eyes was extinguished.
"That went well," she said quietly to no one in particular. The street was a mess, but there was little evidence that she in particular had been there. It would have to be enough. She had the enemy's wand, if she needed to prove her story to the Aurors via Priori Incantatem. Barely glancing at the remains of the unfortunate former Death Eater she had just defeated, Quinn cast homenum revelio and a few other detection spells. As far as she could tell, no Penrose. No nosy muggles. No Aisha. No Mary. No further vampires or other allies of her enemy. That was good. It meant she could leave.
She collected all of the implements that had been used in the summoning, the empty basin and the empty pouches. In a quarter of a second, she was back on Mary's street. The debrief for this mission would be a bit contentious, considering Aisha had left her for dead without a second thought...
